"We enjoyed staying at the Mar Inn. Christine at the front desk showed us the map of the city and guided us to a couple of very good restaurants. Breakfast was very good as well. Close to the cloud forest and a Sloth sanctuary. Tip, park at the parking lot that says Offical Parking & take the shuttle, there is really no parking at the park entrance. "

"Vacationed here for a short honeymoon stay. Great property. However, take into consideration that the property is a 3-hour drive from the airport and the hotel does not provide transportation (costs an additional $USD200 for private transportation from the airport). Daily breakfast was wonderful and the staff was very kind and accommodating. "

"Mountain Faro is a simple, clean, and well-located property, with a good breakfast included. Yes it is up a hill, but you are in Monte Verde and everything is up or down a hill. The staff, led by Lady, are lovely, welcoming, and so helpful - including recommending restaurants, helping to arrange tours, and arranging transport as needed (for tours, or if you just don't want to walk the hills). I highly recommend it."

"Manuel was a great host and showed us around the property and educated us on trees, flowers, and animals in the area. Breakfast was the best we had in Costa Rica and was kind enough to make us a second dish and was able to accommodate to my wife’s food allergies."

"Our stay at Cielo ranch exceeded our expectations. The hosts are lovely people who helped us book activities in surrounding areas, made us excellent food, and showed us their farm. We didn’t want to leave. The kids had fun in the pool and the entire residence is wonderfully designed and beautiful. Waking up to sounds of birds and frogs was a highlight as well as seeing a variety of birds on the property. Thanks very much!"

"The property needs proper cleaning and during the night, you’re all alone in the middle of nowhere. No A/C and the windows doesn’t have any screens. Mosquitos enter your room freely. "

"This is a great place for a night stay, we had a Saturday with bad luck of a fiesta until 2 a.m. in a large rec center close by. But the rooms are clean, new, everything you need, very well stocked, with a pool, nice balcony, swings, and breakfast is to die for. These owners really know how to lay it on you and help make your trip great with good advice."

"Five senior women set off on an all-girls adventure and it did not disappoint. Patrick and the "sunset team" were terrific, from the fabulous daily breakfasts to the top notch excursions that were recommended. The only negative thing I would mention is that the house could be challenging for those with disabilities, as you had to step up or down to get from room to room and there was no railing on the stairway up to the second floor. "The property is absolutely stunning! There is wildlife galore on the property and you feel like you’re in the middle of the rainforest. We had perfect weather and it was a little cooler but, if it wasn’t, the lack of air conditioning may have been rough! Love love loved this place and so did the whole group. 10/10 would recommend."
