“Excellent value, right on the Mediterranean.”
This hotel offers large, well-appointed rooms with kitchenettes. The property is very well maintained, is clean and has a resort type atmosphere. There is a bright and spacious lobby and large outdoor pool. The sea is right across the road and many rooms with balconies offer great views. Important archaeological sites and several good restaurants are a short drive away. We felt this property offered excellent value.
“Beautiful Hotel”
We stayed at 5 different hotels on our recent (Nov. 2011) trip to Sicily and this is by far the second best. The gentleman at the front desk was very friendly and helpful. He spoke enough English to get by and help us with directions for our next stop, as well as recommendations for the fabulous Mediteranean Restaraunt up the street for dinner. The Hotel is right on the water as depicted and our family suite was amazing. The kitchenette was fully stocked and came in very handy for making coffee. The rooms were big and comfy. This is absolutely no joke when I say that this Hotel is definitely worth staying at. The complimentary breakfast was also wonderful. We did have trouble navigating around Sicily, so I would strongly recommend a GPS. We had to have help from the local police to get us to our Hotels in both Palermo and Cattania.
“traveling two”
This hotel was great. The views of the sea were very nice. We stayed in a two room suite and to my supprize there was a fully equipt kitichen. Plenty of windows and door to let in the sunshine and fresh air. The hotel is kept very clean. Only down fall is that there is no carpet so every room sends an echo down the hallways. Helpful English speaking staff was wonderful. I highly recommend this hotel.
“Home away from home - The best service I've ever had at a hotel”
To coincide with a business trip to Sicily I decided to take my vacation there as well and take my Mother back to her home town for the first time in 28 years. I booked the Antica Perla on its good revues and photo's and I was more than impressed. The Hotel is exactly like its pictures with a fantastic pool. I awoke to the view from the balcony of the beautiful azzure blue sea less than 50 yards away, San Leone and Agrigento Alto in the distance. The hotel is located well less than 5 minutes drive to central Agrigento and the Valley of Temples. There are also some good restaurants around the hotel including a pizzeria and Restaurant. I cannot speak highly enough of the kind and helpful staff at the Antica Perla. Any request we asked was met with the highest standards. We were even given helpful local information by Claudia at the front desk on the details of local festivities, times and places as well as her making maps for us. I have never felt so at home and welcome at a hotel. I genuinely felt they were happy to see us return each evening. One morning when we missed breakfast we were offered coffee and Croissants free at the bar... I will miss evenings watching football and sharing language lessons with Antonio. I would recommend this lovely family run business to anyone. They are a real example of Sicilian hospitality. We will be returning next July for the festival of San Calogero. And this is where we will be staying. The best hotel in Agrigento.
“"I would not stay anywhere else"”
This is an excellent hotel. One of the most comfortable in all of Sicily and Italy. It is new and very clean not to mention well kept. Getting to know the owners was the best part. They were very accommodating, helpful, and kind. It was a true pleasure getting to know Giovanni, his brother, and Angelo. Thank you for the wonderful stay.
“Great Family Holiday”
Just returned from a weeks holiday at the Antica Pearla in September. The hotel is very new and has great accmmodation - 2 large bedrooms, and wellequipped kithcen / living area. All of these rooms have access to a large balcony, and the air conditioning is effecitve in keeping the apartment cool in the hot weather. The swimming pool is great - big enough for a proper swim, but wih a connected shallow area for the kids to play around in. The Valley of the temples is well worth a visit, and there are some good beaches around 15 minutes drive away. There is a beach directly opposite the hotel, although it seemed stoney and not really used much. Car recommnded as restutants / shops a short drive away, reception staff very helpful at recommending places / giving advice. We went fdr a friends wedding, but definitely return just for a relaxing Family Holiday.
“Beautiful ocean view. Amazing sunset. Wonderful staff. I would stay again!”
I loved my stay! The staff was very friendly, personable and helpful. In one day I felt like an old friend. The rooms were very clean. Although the wonderful view could only be appreciated from the bedrooms due to the design, my two bedroom accommodation had an huge and amazing balcony. The sunset was exquisite. It was wonderful to fall asleep to the sounds of the ocean. The croissants were delectable. I long to experience them again! The pool was clean and very inviting. Visiting the Valley of the Temples was a quick and easy drive. At the suggestion of the wonderful staff, dinner at a waterside town with a lovely atmosphere and a promenade was another quick and easy drive. On site parking is a plus. There is more to Agrigento then the Valley of the Temples so do ask the staff. I wish I had spoken to them before I planned my length of stay based on my travel book. I would stay again!
“Belle résidence.”
Batiment neuf,en bord de mer. Plage sur la gauche à 200 m. Nous avions une chambre familiale spacieuse de type appartement T3 avec cuisine bien équipée, salle à manger, terrasse.Bon accueil et service.Grande piscine bien entretenue.Bien pour les familles.
“Will be back next winter.”
A very good hotel with no frills and whistles but very functional. Very clean rooms and very friendly staff. Am looking forward to going back soon.
“Quiet hotel by the sea”
This a lovely residence hotel by the sea. The hotel looks newly refurbished and the room was in good condtion. Simple cooking facilties are provided. but we did not use them as this was a one night stop on a tourng holiday. This hotel is very good value for money. We had a terrific sea view from our balcony. The breakfast is an adequate simple continental style buffet. If you have a hire car this is an ideal base for a hotel just off the beaten track. It does not have a restaurant and the nearest is by a simple route to nice family restaurant 2 km away or other optionsare a little farther into town. The area is quiet residential and is not the bright lights of a major town.
