« The staff at the blue jay pub were absolutely lovely and so helpful ,all i have to say is probably a member of staff needs to be alocated in the hotel to save keep walking to the pub to get extra milk ,sugar and toilet roll ,oh and the doors from the hotel room doors are the most loud and scary ones being slammed for hours and hours on end and the floor from the room above us we were room 108 is the most loudest floor heard every footstep all around there rokm so came back from weekend stay...

« There was one issue - the internet! This may be a local issue but it did mean I couldn’t contact family nor work »

« We were stopping at the Lock overnight following a funeral. Reception for check in is in the pub/restaurant (obviously a cost saving exercise). Room was clean and comfortable, no tea/coffee on the drinks tray but to be honest we were so tired we weren’t having one. Comfy bed, room warm enough and minimal noise from guests in other rooms. »

« Room was spacious and looked like in the photos. They do have a big problem with damp but this only really affected the asthetics and didnt affect our stay. The room looks freshly decorated. »

« We stayed overnight to attend a function nearby, so did not use the hotel much, but it was a pleasant stay and the rooms were nice and the location was peaceful and quiet. »

« Have stayed in The Unicorn many times in the past and have been very satisfied however this particular room lacked in a few small things. One side of the double bed did not have any surface to place personal items such as watch, phone and wallet or cash etc. Because of the exceptional large bed there was not enough room for a bedside cabinet on that side but maybe a small shelf would be handy. Also one side of the bed had a light switch but it didn’t appear to do anything, I would have expected...

« Location only 3 minutes drive to Sherwood Pines Lovely friendly staff Good breakfast Twin room booked as only one available for our dates but thought we would be able to push beds together Twin room was 2 x single beds in separate rooms lol 😂 »

« its a titanic pub, so liked the range of real ales, lovely village, everyone so friendly made you feel welcome,and two more pubs only few hundred yards away, crispen and black swan. »

« We came for 4 days to go to Download festival and it was perfect. The staff are all lovely.. especially Emma! Always helpful, even leaving out cardboard for our extremely muddy boots. The walk along the canal is beautiful too. Highly recommend this place. »

« Simple/affordable rooms above a traditional English country pub, in a lovely village location. Staff were very welcoming, rooms were comfortable and parking was easy. »

« Cadre en campagne mais très plaisant et agréable. Super petit déjeuner à l'anglaise, je recommande fortement. Dommage que l'hotel propose uniquement des taxis dans la ville même et pas de chauffeur de l'aéroport de Manchester »

« Accueil très sympathique, nous n'avons pas dîné à l'hôtel car nous avions rendez-vous ailleurs, mais le menu semblait très bien. Un lit king size plus en fait un atout particulier. Le déjeuner peut être Anglais ou continental. Si nous avions pu rester la journée suivante nous aurions demandé si nous pouvions y passer une nuit supplémentaire. »
