The majority of units are operated by the Worldmark timeshare people. However, this is one of only 6 privately held units. Therefore, we enjoy all the benefits of typical resort services. There is a 24 hr front desk along with an activity director available 12 hrs daily to book sightseeing, fishing, golf, atv tours and many other activities. Coral Baja is one of the more popular resorts in San Jose Del Cabo. This is not like a typical condo where there are minimal services. In fact, there are many friendly staff and services on hand for support, security and amenities. There is an onsight activity desk and a car rental agent to assist with your needs. Several championship golf courses are within just a few miles of the resort, situated along the corridor between San Jose del Cabo and Cabo San Lucas. There is a local 9-hole course that is less expensive and can be challenging to play. There are also tennis, pickleball and basketball courts as well as a well manicured putting green right on the premises of Coral Baja. Our unit was fully renovated in 2015, following the devastation caused by Hurricane Odile in September 2014, and has new appliances throughout including microwave, dishwasher, stove and oven, and a washer and dryer. More recent cosmetic rennovations were made in late 2021. The main living area of this unit is tastefully decorated and quite spacious. Cable TV is available in both the living room and master bedroom and each is equipped with a flat screen HD Smart TV. WiFi is available through a third party provider, for a fee. As such signal strength cannot be guaranteed. The master bedroom has a king-sized bed and there is a full-sized Murphy Bed in the main living area. This is a ground level, end unit with lots of privacy, allowing you to sit and enjoy the ocean view, hot tub, the magnificent swimming pool and the ocean just a few metres beyond (it is just 39 paces to the beach). Coral Baja resort has it's own filtered water system. Many travellers worry about the safety of vacationing in Mexico. Whenever you travel in a foreign country, care and vigilance is important. Government travel advisories can be useful sources of information when it comes to learning about travel risks. The US State Department, one such source of this type of information, has pointed out that there are no travel warnings for Baja California (to access the US State Department travel advisory website go to http://travel.state.gov/travel/cis\_pa\_tw/tw/tw\_5815.html ). In fact, the Los Cabos area is considered a safer place than many US metropolitan areas. The general consensus has been there is only one road in and out. There is no jungle and the area is sparsley populated. The bugs bothered me but after addressed it was time to leave, so I guess all good. The place is stocked with a lot of items like floaties etc. I left a beach umbrella to contributed to the items. Also, I gave the owners an opportunity to make this right, not verbally but timing to respond with some hospatility. So, if you are ok with Bugs then you will be ok, but if not well there you go.. Pros:- walk out to the pool/beach- i was silent to the service desk for marketing - close to restaurants outside of the resort- resort did some activities- swim up bar availableCons:- Woke up one morning to cockroaches in my shower (dead), one dead next to my bed. Communicated that to the owners who responded surprised and requested that I communicate that to the front desk, after some back and forth about charging me the agreed to come spray for free. I started to look around for some cleaning supplies to make sure of things for myself, but found a few nearly empty bottles of roach spray. Now, it appears not to be such a surprise. The condo has a beautiful view and is very convenient to the pool and Mama Mia restaurant. We thoroughly enjoyed our time in Cabo. Our only constructive feedback is the condo was not very clean, there was a box with a sink in it in the middle of the kitchen when we arrived, someone left a shirt and vial of something out on the counter and there was hair in the bathroom sink. I think there may have been some construction going on prior to our arrival, and we therefore had to clean the place before getting settled. The comforter also has a milky stain on it and the couch and chair in the main room are a bit tired. The air conditioning in the family room works great, however the one in the bedroom is a little finicky, but we figured out that you just can't change the temp any lower than 24C. As others said, you are only supplied one roll of toilet paper and must either bring your own or go to one of the larger stores as neither the x0x0 nor the property store had any. Grocery stores, restaurants nearby. 30 minite bus ride to Cabo San Lucas and the marina area. Artwalk is a recommended must do on Thursday nights. The pool has daily activities. Happy hour is 2 to 4pm at the poolside, and 4 to 6pm at the back bar. This is a beachfront property, but not swimable. Chileno beach is nice and a short uber ride away. The apartment was very clean and the location right on the lawn and looking out on the ocean was amazing. The pool area was nice and there were plenty of lounge chairs at the pool and on the beach. It was a very quiet and calm community. A drawback was that, practically speaking, you can not swim in the ocean. There is a posted sign and a red flag perpetually up. We are strong swimmers but just did not feel safe and did not want to go against the warning. We had rented a car and there are other beaches within a 10 minute drive that were swimable and beautiful and it made for a nice outing. Visting San Jose was also a treat. ##### Melissa H. Unit is exactly as described, and communication with owners was superior. Most enjoyable were the sunrises on the beach and the ground floor pool access. This unit has the most shade of any others in the complex, and as a corner unit, it is very private. It is also fully stocked with everything you need or want, including the pantry. So nice to have all the cooking items already inside the cabinets as we arrived, without having to shop for those. Much is written about the weak WIFI, but this is not unique this unit, as it is the same for all other guests. We used the Hotels - Resort Net - out on the patio and downloaded movies onto the IPAD. For the living room, we just dropped a Telcel Sim Card into our phone and activated the Mobile Hotspot, allowing us to connect the laptop. The chip was 200 pesos for 3GB of data, and also useful for ride shares, and grocery deliveries. Hope you will enjoy your stay as much as we did. ##### Robert A. Everything was good but one thing... Desperately needs a better wi-fi connection. Speeds were slow to non existent. Cell is impossible on the bottom floor. Owners were very helpful, gave lots of great tips about the area - BUT IN THIS DAY AND AGE - GOTTA HAVE BETTER OPPORTUNITY FOR COMMUNICATION. I would stay here again, but I'd confirm they fixed the WI-FI issues. YOU GUYS MUST HAVE A BETTER SOLUTION FOR THIS ONE CAVEAT! ##### James W. Séjour de 6 nuits en août 2023 ### 8/10 – Bien #### Nicole C. 19 juill. 2023 Points forts : Propreté #### Owners of room were great, but resort & location has some flaws The owners were very upfront about the internet situation in the room not working and pricing of restaurants, great places to go, etc. 5 Stars to the owners! 3-4 stars to the resort. Luckily, I didn't end up having to work, but if I did, it would've been a pain having to go out on the patio & try to use my hotspot or pay for internet that didn't even really work. Other stores in the area lost internet so ATM's didn't work either some days. The Resort was good, but because we were in a private room, things were a little different for us such as the front desk wasn't as willing to give us toilet paper (we only received the one roll that was there, no extras), they wouldn't give us any additional detergent or paper towels, said we would have to get those ourselves or be provided them from the owners. The pool had many spots where the rocky-type flooring was coming off & they just placed rubber mats in various places all over. The pool was very warm, almost too warm and not refreshing being that we were there in July when it was very hot outside. The beach in this area has a very strong current, so you can't swim into the ocean and have to stay close to the shore not to get swept out. Food & drinks were good, but places at the resort were pretty pricy, however convenient. The resort did fun games like Bingo & had other activities Monday-Friday, but we didn't know that at first, probably being in a private room and not one of the time-shares. Overall 4.5 stars.
