Village Heights Resort

10/10 Excellent

"Great big resort, lots of options and parking, we didn't opt for the all inclusive but was able to partake in the other facitilites. Tennis courts, mini putt. They had a lot of staff on hand to support and help and be as welcoming as possible. Check in was fantastic everyone from begining to end always had a smile"

Aquila Atlantis Hotel

8/10 Good

"A nice location just out of the old town. A quick and friendly check in with a small upgrade to a harbour view ,which was very much appreciated. Standard size room with an excellent shower but a terrible mattress that gave me terrible back ache , not something I suffer with normally. It was all a little “sterile” tbh, staff who were polite but not particularly friendly. We didn’t ear at the hotel but did enjoy a wine in the bar each night , being served by a scruffy and a little grumpy barman. We would not choose to stay again as it’s clearly aimed more of a business hotel ."

Creta Maris Resort - All Inclusive

"Nice property but overrated and dated."

Agapi Beach Resort - Premium All Inclusive

8/10 Good

"Food excellent, staff lovely, so friendly and helpful. Room not as described with a sea view but a questionable side view despite ringing the hotel to check before booking. Had poor weather on last couple of days and rain came into the from under the front door soaking all bags. When i mentioned it to reception she asked how deep the water was!! but in general it was a lovely 4 star hotel and I would recommend it."

The Island - Adults Only

"Great Hotel Resort. Excellent Breakfast, nice rooms and pools, professional and very helpfull staff, well located with almost "private" Sea Beach. Incredible Sea view. If possible I will keep visiting them almost every year."

"My husband and I had a wonderful stay here in October. The staff were friendly and helpful. The location was amazing and everything was very clean. We would definitely stay again. The parking in front of the hotel was a nice bonus !"

Frequently asked questions

What is the best area to stay in Kastelli?

The best area to stay in Kastelli is the town centre, particularly around the main square and the waterfront, offering both a lively option and convenient access to attractions. The town centre of Kastelli, also known as Kissamos, is where you'll find the most activity. The main square, Plateia Tzanakaki, is a hub of cafes and tavernas, and the adjacent streets are filled with local shops. The harbour area, a short walk from the square, is particularly appealing with its selection of seafood restaurants and views of the bay. This area is ideal for those who enjoy being in the heart of things, with everything easily accessible on foot. For couples looking for a romantic getaway, staying near the waterfront is an excellent choice. You'll find a selection of hotels and guesthouses with lovely sea views, superb for enjoying a quiet evening or a morning coffee overlooking the water. The gentle sea breeze and the sound of the waves create a tranquil setting, while still being close enough to stroll into the town for dinner.Families will also find the town centre convenient due to its proximity to the local beach, Telonio Beach, which is within walking distance. The availability of numerous eateries caters to all tastes, and the central location means less time spent travelling and more time enjoying your holiday.

When is the best time to go to Kastelli?

The best time to visit Kastelli is during the shoulder seasons, specifically from late April to early June and again from September to October. These months offer pleasant weather, fewer crowds, and the opportunity to enjoy the island's beauty without the peak summer heat. For couples seeking a relaxing getaway, the spring shoulder season (late April to early June) is ideal. The island's flora is in full bloom, making for beautiful scenery, and the sea is warm enough for swimming. You'll find it easier to secure reservations at popular restaurants and experience the local culture at a more leisurely pace before the main tourist rush.Families travelling with children might prefer the autumn shoulder season (September to October). The intense summer heat has subsided, making outdoor activities and beach days more comfortable.
