« My fiancé and I took a last minute trip and this place was perfect. Freshly renovated, we booked the room with an open ceiling. I could tell it was newly remodeled just by looking and smelling. The nice young woman who I believe is the owner was very gracious and accommodating. It’s walking distance to old downtown which has plenty of restaurants. The parking lot can be a little tricky due to the design and space. I highly recommend this quaint inn and hope to make a return visit. »

« This is the largest, and probably best hotel right in Nevada City, on the main street. But it is far enough from any live music venues not to be bothered. A beautifully restored/refitted old brick nineteenth century hotel. I would definitely stay there again in Nevada City. That said, it does not have 21st-century innovations like TV or swimming pools! But if you want old-timey Gold Country charm, I recommend it. The hotel restaurant is good, too. And the staff was professional

« I stayed in Daphne, a cute single room. Perfect for just me and one night. Very clean, plenty spacious. My only complaint was that it was very bright in the room all-night due to lights outside & curtains that werent black out. »
« This is a recently renovated Gold Rush era hotel, very quaint and authentic. The rooms and bathrooms have been updated to modern standards which is nice, but have authentic period decor/antiques. The town is VERY small and cute, extremely quiet (in general) and a walkable historic self-guided tour. It makes a great base of operations for exploring the area.
A couple of things to know: it is 3 story, but because of the age, there is no elevator (typical with Gold Rush era hotels). They have one...
« The lodge is located in the forest! We enjoyed the trail right next to the highway that is easy and meanders through the woods! The breakfast is more than a continental one with hot eggs potatoes and sausage. My room was upstairs with sumptuous king bed but no TV. My other party had our dog in a pet friendly room with two queens. His room had jacuzzi tub; mine just had shower. Overall great property!! »
« This property is really a hidden gem of a hotel. The rates are very reasonable and the area around the hotel is beautiful. The property even has a natural waterfall and a fern grotto which is extraordinary. The rooms are older but very clean and well maintained. Also the beds are very comfortable. The room also has a small refrigerator and microwave.
All in all this is a place you should really consider. I know i would definitely come back.

I was pleasantly surprised! The unit is very big. When you first walk in, you have a bathroom area to the left and then a fridge and microwave on the right and then you walk down a few stairs into the actual room which is a very large space. It doesn’t come with a lot of extras, but it was definitely worth the price...
