"I wanted to stay somewhere a little quirky and thought that this place would be ideal. There was a very steep lane on arrival. The hut shown in the picture is not the one we were in. We were under the impression that there was only one hut but we spotted 4 altogether. The reason I wanted the one in the photo was because it was close to the toilets as I have a stomach/digestion disorder and have to use the toilet during the night. "This is a decent property in a good location with easy parking on-site. But beware: it has almost no internet access and not great mobile reception either. Thick stone walls and facing the harbour means it lacks line-of-site to mobile towers. My modern phone worked, but data speeds were poor inside the apartment. The provided "wifi" consists of a dinky 4G hotspot which sometimes worked ar 1990s speeds: kilobits/sec. But mostly it didn't work at all. No other complaints, but lack of internet...

"We really enjoyed our stay at Cockleshell, the owner Sue was most welcoming, nothing was too much trouble. Parked right behind the apartment. Our dog Bertie loved the garden. Porthtowan is so quiet just as we like it, the beach is a very short walk, can recommend the BlueBar, unfortunately the Beach Bar was closed due to fire damage but will be reopened by Christmas."

"Very large property located on top of a hill with a lovely view, the large kitchen was well equipped with everything you needed, tea, coffee etc and milk in the fridge,beds comfy, large bathrooms liked the little touches eg soap in bathrooms, wul and cloths and t towels, the only problem we found was getting to the property the drive down to the property has a uneven road, potholes etc and with a low car wasn't ideal, also we booked the property as we wanted to be in walking distance to the blue bar, was told there was a path down to it, but it was only a small narrow path through some brambles which is ok going down but at night pitch black so can't walk back up, but saying all of that we would definitely stay again, thank you for letting us stay"

"A wonderful place away from all the modern noise, we had a lovely week in Cornwall and the barn was a perfect base for our days out .The whole place is perfect, the living space is comfortable and we loved the large sofa .I had several lazy baths which were a treat and the shower was lovely too.The bed was very comfortable and combined with the peace and quiet we both slept very well.All in all a lovely experience and would love to go back sometime."
