"Well situated hotel set in beautiful grounds. 5 minute walk to the beach. Room unfortunately faced the road and made the room noisy, the beds were uncomfortable and I suspect the mattresses need replacing.
Lovely refurbished pool and the staff were helpful.
Food was very average,
Hotel was 3 star and I think that was a fair mark"
"Hotel was well situated in the heart of the village, easy to locate with plenty of onsite parking. Next door to a great pub with good food. Room was very clean and tidy with a sea view. Breakfast was really good. Very friendly place, would definitely stay again if in the area. "

Great location, comfortable and good value
"Lovely old hotel. Comfortable. Felt like I was staying in an old relative’s home. Accommodating staff, supplied iron and plates/cutlery on request."
"The Hotel is approx 2 minutes walk from Torquay train station so very convenient . The foyer , entrance dining rooms bar area, swimming pool area are all excellently decorated in a style suitable for the age of the hotel, Th staff were also excellent. Our room was on the 3rd floor and we could use the stairs or lift. The room itself was practical and comfortable , but just a little bit dated compared to some other 4 start hotels of a similar age we have stayed in, as there was no air conditioning it would have been nice to have an electric fan to blow air around the room. In particular, the bathroom whilst functional , in my opinion could do with an update and a complete freshen up .....although it was perfectly usable. I cannot comment on any other room other than mine though and other rooms might have been updated. The bottom line is would i stay there again and the answer is YES. We really enjoyed our stay and the food at breakfast was varied and excellent. "
