« not worth $300+ »

« Clean room and great location to restaurants. We needed a room for one night and did not want to pay a huge price. Carolina Motel fit the bill. »

« The property was clean and comfortable. We'd stay again in the future. »

« Clean room, good breakfast but items were not ready and people had to wait, air and heat, good location with food in walking distance and stores. »

« Paul, the owner, is absolutely amazing. So many beautiful antiques. Breakfast was delightful. We are coming back again next year! »

« The room was clean, but dated. The plug at the bathroom sink did not work, and there is no in room coffee maker. ( I travel with one, so no real problem there.) Compl breakfast consisted of only cereal and coffee, from what I could see. Excellent for the price paid and the reason for my 2 day stay. »

« Chambres fonctionnelles et bien équipées. Hôtel le long de la route mais la climatisation couvre le bruit donc ça va. Petit déjeuner assez light et pièce très petite. 2 tables de 4 places. »

« Been going here my whole life and it’s always perfect. Nestled up in the mountains and a valley. They’re doing renovations currently and can’t wait to see what the finishing product will be! »

« You could not ask for better accommodations a more comfortable room or a more pleasant stay you owe it to yourself to make your next stay in the Clayton area at this motel you will do yourself a disservice if you stay anywhere else »

« Très petite chambre remplie d’objets vintage inutiles. Pas de télécommande de tv , chauffage très bruyant se déclanchant régulièrement, pas de chauffage ni de ventilation dans la salle de bien très ancienne. »

« This hotel was totally unexpected. The personal touches that they add are enchanting! Each room is unique and the thought behind them is incredible. They offer a coffee bar during the day and a wine bar in the evening. We were even able to have a free movie outside with popcorn! This is an amazing place! The lobby is like a public living room and there are seating areas with firepits in multiple locations. It is totally walkable to downtown Highlands . . which is so charming! Stay here! »

« Sweet, clean, comfortable home. Perfect for 4 of us. Everything we needed was provided. Loved sitting on the porch and watching the lightning bugs in the evening. Owner was very communicative and helpful. »

« Very quaint, nice and friendly hosts and we loved sleeping by the waterfall , oh and the breakfast was awesome!!! »

« You can tell the rooms have not seen a good clean in years. We had the discussion if we even wanted to sleep there upon entering the room. I have to question the good reviews of this place since it did not reflect the reality. »
