"The woman who checked us in was very rude. We love staying at your hotel and I requested a room with a balcony. This was the second time that my request was not acknowledged but after some heated exchanges the lady finally gave me a room with a balcony. The room had a leaking commode and I tried to report it but the clerk spoke such broken English that it was hard for her to understand what i was trying to tell her. This is not the first time we have stayed at this hotel because of its location on the river is so relaxing but when you have to experience what we did it’s had to want To go back. "

"Booked to property for its close proximity to Dillsboro and Sylva--the guys were fly fishing and the ladies were shopping and exploring the small towns. The cat museum was a must try, the little shops were filled with beautiful one of a kind items, the restaurants were all very good. The view from the porch was breath taking, the inside of the cabin was clean, neat and tidy. the beds comfortable, kitchen stocked with many needed necessities. Our door area was a bit overgrown, but all natural and pretty. the keypad did not work on arrival but we were able to easily get in with the lock box key after a quick call to customer service. the ride up the mountain was a little scary the first time but got much easier as the days progressed. I highly recommend the cabin and would book it again."

"Great little house on the water. Perfect for a couple or small family looking for a weekend getaway close to dillsboro and sylva. The only bad part about the hunt is the driveway location. Your view is blocked both ways so pulling into the road is a little difficult but manageable."

"The customer service at this location is PHENOMENAL! From the moment I booked, I felt truly welcomed. They were able to accommodate a special request that I had and they got back to me within 24 hours even over Christmas holidays. We chose this house because my mom was worried about staying in the winter up a mountain...this was low enough on the mountain that wasn't a worry and still had beautiful views. When I arrived there was a welcome note and basket. My mother just kept saying she loved the thoughtful touches throughout the home. We started saying that my mom was becoming besties with Deb. Everything that we needed was right there. There are fishing poles for the pond, a hot tub with tv, an ax throwing game, a stocked game room with an arcade machine, pool table and skee ball. The kids kept saying, "Will we come back here?" When we checked out, my daughter was upset because she left a stuffy there. Before I could mention it to the host, she texted me to ask if it was ours, and SENT IT BACK to our house (free of charge) the very next day. I just cannot believe the level of hosting that occurred here. It just went over and beyond what you would ever imagine at a VRBO. Thank you Deb for inviting us so warmly into your home."

"This was our second stay at the River House but the first time we've been to Dillsboro in winter. We had a wonderful time! There was a big storm, and we watched as the swollen Tuckasegee carried branches and logs past our cabin. Then we had a little snow! The cabin was clean and comfortable."
