Friends Get Away!

"My friends and I stayed 4 nights and we were all very comfortable as well as enjoyed our stay! Lots of space! Beds are comfortable. The whole place was spotless. We enjoyed the fire place and all the warm cozy blankets that were provided. Short walk to the grocery store and The Watering Hole…a fun brew house with excellent food. A bit longer of a walk to downtown although not undoable for those that like a nice walk. 20 minute drive to Calaveras Big Trees State Park. We very much enjoyed our day walking and hiking along the sequoias! Highly recommend doing this as it could be a half or full day activity. The kitchen has all the basic things that are needed although could have used a few other things, such as cookie sheets, pot lids, and an electric teapot. There is a nice little patio out back with a couple lawn chairs and small table. We would have used the back yard more if there was a patio table that would have accommodated all of us. Especially for breakfast. Our host was great! Very responsive and helped us immediately with a concern. We loved our welcome basket of snacks and welcome note. We also enjoyed the bottle of wine from a local winery that was included. Bottom line…we would all definitely stay here again if the opportunity arises!"

Spectacular Stay in Murphy's!

"The house was absolutely fantastic!!! The grounds were beautiful and just minutes from Murphy's downtown. It's Paradise!!! My only recommendations are: Downstairs guest bedroom/ bath fix the sink stopper, add a wall mirror, and in the bedroom - it was the most uncomfortable mattress I've ever slept on away from home. It didn't match the quality of the home or experience. I do recommend adding bathmats to all bathrooms. However, despite that...I gave our stay all 5 stars because our stay was magical! Thank you!"

"Having been staying at this Inn for the past 8 years unfortunately I have to report thing have changed.This Inn used to be so special for a romantic fun time.Before COVID it was nice in the morning sitting having their wonderful small breakfast inc in room price meeting other guests. During COVID we stayed also a few times which breakfast was not served but explained that it will definitely return and understood.Returning 2 times over the past 2 years breakfast wasn`t included as well as prices increased. This week I returned and paid close to $200.00 for a standard room. Front desk ladies were very nice,room ok but no amenities except normal room soaps.Even coffee in there small library isn't even fresh.Nothing at all memorable or romantic. So sad a special inn next to great restaurants has nothing beyond a room to offer.There are many other nice hotels around wine country which makes their guest feel special like a glass of wine,breakfast rolls and at much less price., Won`t be returning. "

Charming with all the conveniences

"Sathya was a wonderful host! She replied promptly when I had questions and provided a lovely and comfortable home obviously prepared by a detail-oriented person. There’s full laundry and an awesome game room at ground level, and everything else on the second floor. There’s a Keurig with k-cups for morning brew, a thoughtful selection of snacks, tv with streaming services, and even body lotion in the bathrooms for when you step out of the shower and realize you forgot some essential toiletries! The front deck is very cool, the backyard is lovely, and the hot tub was the icing on the cake! I will definitely be returning!"

Lovely home close to town!

"Our family adores Murphys, and we were excited to stay in a new space. The house was the perfect size and design for our family of 4. It is tastefully decorated and very comfortable. We had a very relaxing and enjoyable stay! While there's no crosswalk, it is a very simple walk across Hwy 4 to get to Main Street and the markets. It was great to walk everywhere we wanted to visit in town. We enjoyed the TVs in all the bedrooms (although we were never able to get one of them connected) - we could each watch whatever we wanted! The beds and linens were comfortable. The drapes are not blackout, so you will see some lights from the nearby gas station from the primary suite. Our kids enjoyed the mini golf in the backyard, and in warmer weather, it would be a nice space to relax. The refrigerator, stove, and oven were all in tip top condition. There are plenty of pots and pans, as well as spices and oil for cooking. There is no tupperware, foil, or ziplocks so bring your own if you think you may have leftovers to store. We did need to buy a casserole pan to make one of our meals. Overall, we were very pleased with our stay and would happily book the Horse & Hare on a future visit."
