"The lobby is nice to get you in the door and then the rooms are cramped, dated, cold, poorly ventilated, and in dire need of a paint job. The location is excellent but it’s fundamentally a bait-and-switch. "

"The room, albeit small, was clean. The bathroom was very small, as well. The convenience of this property is it's location. The air conditioner in our room was a window unit, and it did not work, at all. However, we did not really need it, because we could raise the windows and it was not too hot while we were there. In fact, the property cut the heat on and there is a small radiator in the bedroom and the bathroom. The worst part of the bathroom was that there was minimal hot water. The shower got warm, but never hot. I have found this to be typical of most older hotels around Times Square. The staff were extremely courteous and professional - they greeted us everytime we entered and left. There is a Duane Reade and a market on the same block, which was an added bonus. Again, this is not a fancy hotel and its biggest perk is its location. The hotel was exactly what i expected, and exactly what we needed. We did not intend to spend much time at the hotel, as we were there to visit NYC, go to Broadway, and to sight-see and do all the touristy things. We needed a good location to sleep at night, and this fit the bill perfectly."

"Good location but no frills. No coffee or kettle in the room. Very small bathroom with shelf hanging over the sink that made it difficult to wash up. Charged $4/bag to hold them for a few hours after checkout. $15 credit at the market was a nice perk though. "

"The location is the best thing about the property. The hotel is dated and needs upgrading. The bathroom had fresh, visible stains on the wall which was an indication that it isn't cleaned well. I was told that a room was available for check-in @ noon and when I arrived it was like I was forced to upgrade due to the front desk knowing that I was ready to settle in. I was told that I was getting a great view in the best room available. The view was horrible and I was charged an additional $40/night, which did not suffice @ all. I wouldn't return nor recommend. Well, that is if someone prioritizes location over amenities & accommodations. "

"If you’ve ever wanted to spend $300 for a hotel room with a bathroom you’d have to sit side saddle on the toilet to use, this is the hotel for you. If you like standing sideways in the shower since it’s too small to stand the normal way in, this hotel is for you. If you like other people’s hair in your bathroom sink when you arrive, this hotel is for you. On top of those issues, the bathroom had 2 bath towels and that was it. No washcloths, no hand towels nothing. It also had 2 shampoo pumps in the shower and no body wash or conditioner. The bathroom was so small that I had to exit the bathroom to dry off after my shower. The only reason I’m giving this place 2 stars is because the location was prime for going to see shows on Broadway. If you’re looking for comfort, go somewhere else. "

"No slippers, no toothbrush, no fridge"

"Very well-appointed hotel and room, excellent location, pleasant staff. However, the check-in was too slow for a property of this quality. Also, the property texted me and asked if I needed anything, and I requested a mini fridge. The reply was that it would be delivered to my room, but it never was. It’s not a problem if there wasn’t one available, the problem was the unkept promise (and failure to follow-up). Finally, there was an unexpected charge to my credit card that I am waiting to have resolved. I expect it will be fixed, but again a property like this should not have such problems. I have stayed at a great many hotels in Manhattan and I have rarely had such a litany of issues, though admittedly in this case none were that big a deal."
