The weather played a major factor. The hotel was ok a bit rustic they upgraded me to a suite but it didn't have any wifi or a working television. The food was amazing but there was little to do as far as excursions. The staff was very kind and were working hard to help us but this definitely fell short of 4 stars which I was expecting. The views of the city were spectacular and I highly recommend you take photos of the sunrise over the city. The food was excellent and reasonable. The new owner was a delight to talk to and he informed me that all of his electricity comes from a generator since the city does not provide it. Like everywhere in Cap Haitien, constant A/C is not possible so there are times from around 8:00 pm until the morning when it works well. This hotel is a colorful oasis on the hill and a great place to drink a beer and look out over the city. It is a steep grade up the hill but I walked up and down it and enjoyed to e beautiful murals. I highly recommend staying at this hotel!
