"The apartment was charming and the view was beautiful. Debi's hospitality was even better. She provided everything we needed and more with fresh eggs, orange juice, apples and more. I definitely recommend staying at Hummingbird Hill if you want a mountain escape."

"We enjoyed the peaceful atmosphere and the scenery was beautiful. We enjoyed watching the deer, hummingbirds, chipmunks, and a groundhog. First time in my life that I seen chipmunks and a groundhog. We drove too nearby places to see waterfalls, we visited a few neighboring towns to shop and have dinner, it was fantastic week. The home was very clean, peaceful, relaxing, it was just everything that we needed for a pleasant week. It’s definitely a trip that we will be doing again."

"We were a group of 5 friends, who travel together annually. The home was clean and well equipped. The refrigerator doesn't have an icemaker, so if ice is needed bring some. The owner was very responsive to any questions we had. The stairs to the lower level are steep and not a good choice for anyone with mobility issues. However, the main living space is on the main floor and is easily accessible. All in all, we had a great time visiting and enjoyed being surrounded by the beauty of nature."

"We really enjoyed our weekend in this darling house. It was easy to get to, no 4-wheel drive needed. No scary turn around. The house is super private. We enjoyed the hot tub both nights. Everything we needed was there; plenty of dishes, towels, shampoo, seasonings, etc. There is a nice view from the decks. Our host, Bradley, was very accommodating and didn’t even get annoyed when I asked for the w-Fi password, which was on a very large magnet on the refrigerator. Just be aware that there are no bedrooms on the main floor, so you must be able to go up and down stairs to get to them."

"We can’t say enough nice things. The communication was swift and the house is beautifully situated with a view of horses and the mountains. If you like to cook, the kitchen is wonderfully appointed with any appliance you might like and quality cookware. We had a wonderful time and would highly recommend it.Our Host shared some amazing flowers from the Garden, such a nice touch!Very close proximity to hiking, dining and much more! We look forward to our next stay!"

"This property is one in a million! We have utilized VRBO properties multiple times over the years, but we have never encountered a place that was as well-thought-out and prepared for guests as this one. We previously owned a B & B and lodge so we can appreciate the tremendous effort that goes into creating and maintaining such a lovely place for people to stay. The only thing I couldn't find that would've been handy was a stove rest for my cooking spoon! That is simply amazing! The kitchen was unusually well provisioned, and we cooked all of our meals here during our stay. The rest of the property, including the fire pit, was ready for us. We didn't need to buy s'more ingredients, either! The owners' guest manual was excellent. We took it in our car every time we went out, it was so useful. We added a document or two, but this amenity was a very practical tool.We felt welcomed and pampered. We did not want to leave so we'll be back!"

"We recently stayed at this North Carolina property and it completely exceeded our expectations! From the moment we arrived, we were blown away by how clean, neat, and well-maintained the home was. It truly felt like a home away from home.What made the experience even more special was our host, who was incredibly gracious, welcoming, and responsive throughout our stay. Thanks to the wonderful accommodations and the peaceful NC setting, this getaway turned out to be one of the absolute best vacations we have ever had. We cannot wait to come back!"

"Splendor Cove exceeded our family’s expectations. Our vacation included a full house of folks, from kids ages 2 to 6 to teenagers to adults. There were facilities at Splendor Cove that each group could enjoy. The house and grounds were clean and organized when we arrived, and the kitchen was very well outfitted for large groups. Our family enjoyed the kayaks, canoe, and fishing gear. There were lots of games and a ping pong table for folks of all ages. Plus, there are multiple places to hang out to enjoy chatting in smaller groups. A key reason our family chose Splendor Cove was the large lawn. Most mountain lake homes don’t have large lawns because of the region's topography. Splendor Cove has a large lawn and a covered ping-pong pavilion. Our teenagers enjoyed kicking around soccer balls, playing Wiffle Ball, and passing footballs. Ben and Stacy, our hosts, were responsive to our family's questions before, during, and after our vacation. We plan to repeat our family lake house vacation in a couple of years and Splendor Cove will be the house we check first for availability."
