The bad: Room smelled like ammonia, like burn your sinuses strong. Even with the patio door open all day long, the smell never dissipated. Ceiling began to leak water… dripped water all day and night, maintenance never came to fix anything. By the time we checked out the paint was starting to peel and the wall was cracking. Front desk provided 2 towels to soak up the water, and housekeeping would not change/replace the towels when they cleaned. Housekeeping only cleaned 2 times out of 7 days, and when they did they would forget to give clean towels. Called the front desk for towels… 4 hours later they finally delivered towels after I had to dry myself off with clothing after a shower. Booked excursions through the shuttle service when I booked our stay through Expedia. The security guard at the resort would not let our excursion driver pick us up. Security refused to drive us to the security gate to be picked up (probably about 1-2km away from the actual resort). They only allow “their” excursion drivers into the resort, information that was not told to us. Wifi was beyond spotty, even in our room. The resort “entertainment” was so loud that we could hear it in our room. On our first night the music didn’t stop until after 2am, which was so unappreciated after a long day travelling.
The good: Never had an issue getting plates at the buffet (which was a common complaint when I read reviews). The pool was the perfect temperature! The beach was SPECTACULAR!
