The most wonderful stay in a beautiful place

Oasis in Provence
The house is beautiful and spacious, lots of room to spread out. Garden beautiful and peaceful. Location close to town but far enough away to be very quiet. Loved the beverage station and large dining table. Lots of light in the living area, wifi and TV great and easy to use.

Lovely secluded house
We had a lovely week in this quaint house. It was secluded with a lovely pool which was cleaned twice during our week. Which was ideal as it was quite windy. We had no faults with our stay and Valerie was helpful when required. I would like to point out that air conditioning is only downstairs, kitchen and bedroom with pull out sofa bed in. There was an air conditioning unit in the top bedroom which was satisfactory. That would be my only comment on what was a lovely week that it should be clearer in the description where it is.

Thank you for the review and glad you had a good time. Just want to add that it’s a charming 17 century house but the decor interior is not quaint at all but an eclectic modern style. There is a powerful portable air con in the top bedroom ( that isn’t misleading) and a very efficient fan in the first floor bedroom and I have received no complaints during this hot year so I think it’s doing it’s job. All downstairs is air conditioned.

Lovely Stay in Gordes!
We had a really wonderful time at Valerie's lovely home in Gordes. It's the perfect spot to use as a base for exploring the Luberon. The house is very spacious and comfortable, particularly with A/C in the summer. It's beautifully designed and furnished, with everything that you need for a stay. The best part was the pool. Valerie was very kind, helpful, and easy to communicate with. She gave great recommendations about what to do in the area. We weren't able to do all of them because of our shorter stay there, but I hope that if she keeps renting out this house, we'll be able to come back again one day for a longer stay!

Charming and tasteful home, gorgeous neighborhood
The villa was all it was advertised to be, a fabulous retreat after more than a week of travel. We enjoyed our time so much we cancelled a dinner reservation in favor of dining al fresco by the lovely and refreshing pool. The grounds are well kept and very private. My husband and I slept in the bedroom on the ground level, which features a comfortable pullout sofa bed and the best bathroom in the villa. It was quite hot while we visited for three days in mid-June, but the villa remained cool if we kept doors and windows closed and shuttered against the sun and heat. It was a little challenging to locate the entrance, but if you follow the owner's excellent written directions closely, you will find it. Wi-Fi was initially a challenge, but we figured it out after a call to the owner who was always very responsive. The housekeeper met us shortly after we arrived, and she was gracious and helpful as well. We highly recommend this villa!

Amazing house in beautiful area
It was a nearly perfect experience! Loved the property!! I didn’t notice that the master bedroom was a pullout, but that was my mistake. It was clear in the pictures. We had a great getaway & couldn’t have asked for a better location to visit all the villages, each 10-15 minutes away. Daily farmers markets & an amazing Provence experience. Thank you!

Absolutely gorgeous!
The property is still exactly as pictured but even more beautiful. The quintessential Provence experience! The walk to town is stunning along the pedestrian paths, but it is a bit of an uphill hike so good to keep in mind if you aren’t a walker. We loved it! The whole place looks like a beautiful painting. Valerie leaves the most wonderful notes on what to see and do and some great restaurant suggestions. As Americans, we could have used some notes on how to use the stove and oven. It’s an induction stove (sp?) so we didn’t know you had to put the pan on top for it to heat! But Valerie quickly cleared that up in a phone call. Would highly recommend this beautiful home.

Oasis of tranquility
Loved the location and the winding lane down to the property. Arrived to find a hidden and very private garden that was wonderfully lit at night and with a beautiful pool. Total silence and never saw or heard another person in the week we were there. If you’re looking for a quiet week away from the hassles of a hectic world, then this is the place for you!

Great Property
My wife and I spent 4 lovely days at Valerie’s secluded property a short stroll from Gordes. It was exactly what we were looking for, private with a variety of walks directly from the house, very close to Gordes and some stunning villages nearby. Although there was so much you could visit in the vicinity we chose to spend most of our time by the pool which was refreshing and just perfect, it’s not a heated pool but thank goodness as the weather was scorching ! so to cool off in the pool was a joy. Give this place a try, you certainly won’t be disappointed!

Beautiful home
We really enjoyed our stay in Valerie’s home. She has beautiful taste in design and decor and the bed, sheets and towels were of pristine quality. It made for a wonderful getaway from home. Valerie gave us lots of recommendations and was available when we needed her. The pool was unfortunately not cleaned for our stay but we were told after that it’s because it was the off-season. It was too bad as it was really warm when we were there. But overall we had a lovely time. Gordes is a stunning town as is Valerie’s home.

A lovely and secluded house
This was a charming house, nicely secluded, just outside of Gordes. We enjoyed being away from the traffic and noise around the town, yet being able to get on the road quickly. The three floors provided ample space for four of us, even with rather steep steps to climb. It was too cool to use the pool in late September, but it sure was tempting! The most challenging aspect was driving down the narrow lane to the house, which would be near impossible for large SUV-type vehicles. All in all, this is the perfect get-away for those wanting some peace and quiet while traveling around the south of France. We felt privileged with the elegance and space of this renovated farm house.

Wonderful stay in Belle Du Jour
We had a great stay in Belle du Jour. The house was beautiful and had all you could ask for a family of four. It was incredibly hot while we were there so we found ourselves spending most of our time in the pool, which was lovely. Valerie was also very helpful and the location in the heart of the Luberon is hard to beat. Highly recommended.

Lovely holiday at this beautiful house
We spent a relaxing week at this lovely house near Gordes. It was down a very private road and not overlooked by other properties. Very tastefully furnished with everything we needed and more! Just lacking an upstairs toilet in the master ensuite. Gorgeous big pool and we managed to swim in it despite it still staying chilly even in hot July. Lovely area a short drive to beautiful Gordes and other towns and markets. Definitely recommend a stay at this lovely home.

I'm so glad you had a good time. Its always the point for me as a host for guests to be happy. It is a small house and there was an ensuite toilet to the top bedroom but my architect and I decided that an ensuite shower would be better and then we put in a new toilet just one flight down which is shared with the first bedroom which also has an ensuite bathroom. It truly is the best I can do. Its hard to achieve perfection in every way.

Beautiful, tranquil house and gardens
We stayed at Valerie's house for a week at the beginning of September 2017. The house was delightful and the pool area very beautiful. We had a brilliant week with fantastic weather. We loved the village of Gordes so magical and magnificent. Market day on Tuesdays is a must. There is so much to see and do though I must admit we did a lot of lazy days by the pool. Things I would recommend a visit to Domaine De La Citadelle vineyard, beautiful wines and a very informative talk on how they produce. We also took a walk around their picturesque herb garden with views of Von monteux in the distance. We also had a fabulous canoe trip with canoe evasion at Fontaine-de- Vaucluse. It's a must. Thank you Valerie we really enjoyed our stay and hope to be back one day. 😀

Perfectly peaceful and private
Our family of three (two adults and one child) stayed at Belle De Jour just last week. Everything about the property was perfect! The home has plenty of space and stays very cool, even when it was over 90 degrees F outside! You will not hear anything but the sound of the wind, some birds, a faint dog barking or church bell, and occasional faint car noise. We live in the US and there is always man made noise somewhere, but not here. It was amazingly peaceful and quiet. The property is very private, you don't see anyone else. The pool was great, while not heated (or if it is not much) it doesn't matter when it's very hot out. For the house, everything worked well for us. The clothes washer and a full refrigerator/freezer are in the back utility room on the ground floor. The shower in the ground floor bathroom was great. We needed a little help getting the TV to function correctly for us and Valerie was very timely with her replies and help. Both bedrooms were very comfortable. Following Homeaway's tips for reviews, yes the listing description was accurate. The property was perfectly clean and very well-maintained. Valerie's customer service and responsiveness well exceeded our expectations. We would and have recommended this property to friends and family. And if we can we will return. We laid pretty low during our stay. But the Super U in Coustellet is very convenient. We enjoyed day trips to Bonnieux, Roussillon, and L'Isle-sur-la-Sorge. We enjoyed dinner at the Carcarille Hotel one evening, lovely outdoor seating. May your stay at Belle De Jour be as enjoyable as ours was. Thank you Valerie for sharing your lovely property.

Absolutely delightful!
We've stayed in Provence more times than I can count (at least 25+), so we knew exactly what we were looking for, and the home was perfect for this trip...it was just my adult son and I, so two separate bedrooms, essentially three bathrooms (two toilets), and a great pool were just the ticket. Valerie (the owner) is an absolute gem. The location, just at the base of Gordes, is great for getting around...we're actually not tourists any longer, as our trips are essentially to see friends and to enjoy the ambiance, but we found that we could get anywhere quickly...although we ended up spending most of our uncommitted time sitting by the pool and relaxing. The gardens are beautiful, the views are lovely, and the house was scrupulously clean and maintained. Not fancy, but so comfortabIe...the wi-fi and the English language TV both worked! I highly recommend it!

Ein verstecktes Kleinod in der Provence

Endroit très joli et agréable, propriété très bien entrenue, magnifique jardin et impeccable du côté de la propreté… seul bémol, des communications avec la propriétaire un peu moins agréables que je ne l’aurais souhaité malgré que j’ai toujours écrit en anglais pour faciliter les échanges. Et je n’aurais vraiment pas détesté qu’on se préoccupe de nous durant notre séjour, ne serait-ce qu’un semblant d’accueil.

Dear Michele, I appreciate your criticism. You are possibly right although its not something that I have had said about me before but I have been in Africa to give witness in a court case. I thought I would be away for one week but it has turned into many weeks. I believe I normally communicate well with guests and feel its important to welcome them. However, as I don't myself live in Provence, my housekeeper who interacts with guests told me that you were lovely so I guess you did meet her and interact with her. She is great and often guests tell me that . My apologies if you did not feel my presence. I normally Ove to let guests know if there are shows or events in a couple of very special place I love. Glad you loved the place and hope your stay was a happy one regardless. I take your comments on board. thank you.

Maison pleine de charme Conforme aux photos Nous sommes restés 2 semaines avec une enfant de 3 ans et un bébé de 4 mois. 2 lits parapluie nécessaire car la literie est haute ou barrière bébé pour plus de sécurité. La literie à l’étage est bonne. Climatisation d’appoint a l’étage Climatisation reversible au rdc avec couchage 2 places au besoin. Tout le nécessaire y est.

Très bonne adresse à 2km au sud du centre de Gordes, au calme, sans vis-à-vis, propre et avec du caractère. Quelques prestations (huisseries, électro-ménager, plomberie) mériteraient un upgrade vu le prix mais rien de vraiment gênant.

Merci pour l'avis. Je ne comprends pas le problèmes avec les huisserie. La plupart des portes dans la maison sont moins de 4 ans parvenue bien que la maison est ancienne et tous fonctionne parfaitement j'ai fait beaucoup de nouveau dans l'intérieur mais gardant l'integrite de la maison. Le four étais acheté cette année, le vaisselle également.

Il faut se rendre compte que les photos sont bien choisies sur l’annonce et qu’en réalité l’hébergement et son extérieur sont plus petits. Nous avons été très déçus du manque de communication et d’échange de la part de la propriétaire avant d’arriver sur place. Nous sommes venus passer 2 nuits. Nous pensions surtout pouvoir télétravailler là-bas et nous avons eu la mauvaise surprise en arrivant de se rendre compte que le wifi ne fonctionnait pas (la télé non plus au passage), que la piscine n’était pas propre et le mobilier de jardin assez vieux et pas très qualitatif pour le prix payé. C’est vraiment dommage car nous aurions aimé être prévenus car c’est une zone où il n’y a pas beaucoup de réseau téléphonique non plus. En ce qui concerne l’accès pour trouver la maison, ce n’est pas du tout évident de trouver la maison et la propriétaire ne s’est jamais excusée pour tout cela mais à plutôt essayé de se justifier et trouver des excuses. Je ne recommande pas ce lieu. Malgré tout, grâce à la femme de ménage, l’intérieur de la maison était propre, elle est venue nous conduire à la maison et est revenue le dernier jour pour s’assurer que nous avions passé un séjour à peu près correcte. Elle est aussi venue pour nous préparer le dernier couchage prévu car la propriétaire n’avait pas prévenu du nombre de personnes lors de notre réservation. Nous la remercions !

Kleines Paradies im Süden
Das Haus von Valerie ist wunderschön. Aussen alte Steine, ein grosser Pool, drinnen geschmackvolle Möbel, zwei Bäder, eine Art Winteegarten für Regentage, alles perfekt zum Wohlfühlen. Très jolie maison provençale, au calme et sans vis-à-vis. Maison sur 3 niveaux, avec plusieurs escaliers. Nous avons séjourné avec 3 enfants en bas âge, et l'accès au jardin était assez compliqué. Le jardin n'était d'ailleurs pas entretenu. L'accès à la maison était aussi difficile car très étroit avec une voiture familiale. La piscine possède une alarme mais n'est pas clôturée, pas idéal pour une famille. Maison de charme, mais à privilégier entre adultes.

Desole que la maison n'étais pas bien pour vous. Pendant 15 ans beaucoup des familles ont reste la très contente ( avec les petits enfants aussi sinon je remarquerais). Mais je vais prendre attention d' être plus précis avec le description et plan de la maison. A propos les étage, Il ya 2 étages pas trois. Je me regrette beaucoup le pelous. J'ai eu fait un extension de la maison cet hiver et refait tous le terrace en nouveau. Le chef des macons n'a pas me prévenu lque les machine pour cement irais détruire le pelouse. le jardiniere est en train de refaire le pelouse complètement et recréer le jardin depuis que on a eu enlever quelque des belle attraction du jardin pour construire l'extension. mais en peu des semaines ils sera très belle encore. Concernant le chemin a la maison, c'est la premiere fois quelqu'un se plainde de ca. Normalement les clients le trouve très charmant. C'est nécessaire pour moi a connaitre l'expérience de tous mes clients meme les plaintes. C'est le premier fois quelqu'un se plainde de manque de clôturée autour du piscine . Mais je vais chercher si c'est possible d'avoir un clôturée. Cependant le piscine est alarmée et le conseille est c'est le mieux pour protégée les enfants. Quand mes enfants étais petits il aiment beaucoup la maison et heureusement la plupart des clients aussi mais j'apprécie vos critiques et continuer le bon travaille pour mes clients. Enfin, Je n'est peut pas cache mon déçu parceque j'ai dépensé plus que €100,000 les derniers deux ans pour fair mieux la maison et créer un plus beaux experience pour mes clients mais vous n'avez pas en profiter. J'espère que vous avez trouver un parti de sa charme et son ambiance spéciale et le soin on a prit avec le deco etc. J'espère sincèrement que votre vacance étais heureuse.

Ruhig, erholsam, pittoresk - Provence pur!
Von Mitte bis Ende Mai 2017 machten wir Urlaub mit 4 Erwachsenen im Haus „Belledejour“ in Gordes. Der Standort ist ideal, um den Luberon und die Provence zu erkunden. Das Haus liegt mitten im Grünen, ganz ruhig und beschaulich und bietet alles, was man zum Wohlfühlen braucht. Bei strahlendem Sonnenschein genossen wir das unbeschwerte Leben draußen, den Pool, die Sonne, die Köstlichkeiten der Provence. Auch wenn die schmale Zufahrt zum Grundstück jedes Mal eine Herausforderung war, werden wir gerne wieder dort Urlaub machen. Noch einmal herzlichen Dank an Valerie, die sich, wo immer auf der Welt sie sich aufhält, immer rührend und liebevoll um das Wohlbefinden der Mieter kümmert.
