Walk across the bridge to get into town, and if traveling with kids, there is a cute little park with exact (but scaled for kids) replicas of many of Portugal's (and it's current and former colonies) most famous sites, almost across the street. "Beautiful old world apartment central to everything. Hotel was clean and modern and instructions were easy. Finding location at first was challenging as there is no car pull in or front desk. However once we arrived it was easy. The bed was a bit firm and walls very thin so heard the people above us. Gentleman who worked there was very friendly and helpful. Worth the money and very safe. "I believe Antonio said the property was built in thef 30's. It was a good stay and we enjoyed it. The breakfast was good and nice to be social with other guests. There are lots of stairs so keep that in mind. "

"The place is good enough for the price but, the rooms have no mosquito netting on the windows so you can't sleep with the window open. We got badly bitten in the night by mosquitos and there is no aircon as expected for the price, the room did not even have a fan. We went home a day early because we did not want another night. "

"The loft is clean and spacious. The neighborhood is great and there'ew many cafes and restaurants just a few meters away. The kitchen is well-equiped. I wish there were some basic cooking supplies such as oil, salt and pepper, or a coffee maker in the unit."
