“Great Place”
Everyone was pleasant and helpful. Zurich is super expensive but I found this hotel to be really first rate. I travel a lot!! Although there are larger rooms my suite was well laid out and unlike many hotels had furniture that fit in the room
“Cant Wait to Go Back and Stay at the Central Plaza Hotel”
Do Not Miss staying, at this wonderful Hotel. The staff is wonderful. They were so very helpful in every way. The hotel is centrally located providing walking distance to everything wonderful in Zurich. Please book your next stay at this lovely Hotel. We cannot wait to go back and enjoy this hotel when we return to Zurich.
“Fantastic hotel in a fantastic location”
The hotel could not be better situated, steps from the train station, river, and old town. The room rates were amazing for the value received, and our Expedia reservations were fully honored with no extra charges except for the usual tax, etc. A main tram stop in right in front of the hotel in Central Plaza giving convenient access to the city. The hotel has wonderful service and our rooms were extremely comfortable and spotlessly clean, with duvet-type bed covers which I vastly prefer to nasty old comforters (Swiss hotels, I discovered, use duvets as the norm, changed for each guest). The hotel's cafe, outdoors on the sidewalk, has wonderful views of the city and river. We were able to walk to and from the train station, which was very convenient and saved us from reliance on taxi service. Hotel service was very friendly and efficient. I very highly recommend this hotel to my fellow visitors to Zurich.
“curious mix”
Good hotel in central zurich, teeny rooms - luckily just me in there. Mix of city centre bar, medieval restaurant and undercover palm style restaurant area.
“City hotel convenient for railway station”
This is a comfortable and well maintained city hotel, within easy walking distance of the railway station and many other city amenities. Don’t be put off by the railway station, the area round the hotel has pleasant tree lined streets with the river flowing past, and the area is a route centre for the trams that will take you to most other parts of the city. Reception was welcoming and the room was comfortable and well equipped. We enjoyed a good evening meal in the hotel restaurant, but there is plenty of choice of other places to eat in the hotel’s vicinity.
“Zurich hotel”
We had a very 'short' night at the Central Plaza Hotel as our train from Milan was very delayed, so sadly we were only in the hotel for about 5 hours before leaving for our next train the following morning! The hotel staff were excellent - our room was ready, we got checked in (and were in bed and fast asleep!) very quickly. They were equally as efficient the following morning as we left to catch our next train to Paris. The hotel is literally over the road from the station, so it was very easy to find, depite the street party that was going on in Zurich that weekend.
“Ideally located”
Just spent one night at this hotel as a stopover. The room was spotless with a wonderfully comfortable bed and quiet despite being along the road. The hotel is just across the road from the mainline station, so great for a stopover and just next to the 'old town', which is great for an evening stroll and full of restaurants. It is only a 10-15 min stroll along the river bank to the lake. Staff very helpful and speak good english.
“Would have loved to stay longer”
We were pleasantly surprised by the modern interior design of this classic old hotel, conveniently located in the heart of Zuerich across the river from the main train station. The handicap-accessible bathroom with all amenities, including a rain-type shower, is our favorite. Sound-proof room, funky furniture, and fluffy bed spread made our stay a real treat.
“A little expensive but a very nice hotel.”
Great location in Zurich and excellent proximity to shopping, walking and the main train station is 150 meters.
“Welcome”
The hotel was indeed a welcome sight as us two weary travellers emerged from the train station to see it "waiting for us" directly across the bridge. The hotel staff were most welcoming also, infact everything about this hotel was quality. Solid oak flooring, leather seats, crisp clean bedlinen and fluffy towels. The newly decorated bathroom was compact but perfectly adequate, having both bath and shower. Continental breakfast included fruit juice, coffee or tea, different types of bread, jams and cream cheese. Also fresh fruit. The curteous service in the breakfast room was faultless. We found the Central Plaza to be - as the name suggests - centrally located for ambling around and exploring Zurich. The down side was the all night tram service, which screeched round the bend stopping, at regular intervals, directly outside the hotel. Light sleepers be warned, you'll need an extra pillow for onto of your head! That said, the second night I hardly noticed it.
