Cannot say enough about how awesome the stay was at Tamarack. Unique experience on the slope with gorgeous views and wonderful accommodations. The heated floors i in the bathrooms and heated beds were a highlight along with the hot tub and star-lite ceiling in the turret. Highly recommend!

Best Property on The Best Family Friendly Mountain
The perfect “Mountain Getaway!” Whitefish the town is great! The mountain is so family friendly and the SnowBear Tree House is the cherry on top! We had zero issues! Everything was perfect do to the great communication with the owners from start to finish. Looking forward to coming back next year!

Fun in the Trees
Very creative, fun, unique home in the trees - we really enjoyed our stay. First class, very well stocked kitchen. Bring minimal luggage and a small to medium size car. The three treehouse chalets are perfect for a large family to rent together given their proximity and openness to each other. We hope to come back and ski here soon for the convenience of ski in and out! We did hike up the Hope Slope trail to the top and it was great exercise with gorgeous views of the surrounding mountains, lake, and valley.

Wonderful Trip!
We had such a lovely weekend at the Treehouse (even if it was freezing!). The ski in / ski out location and views were incredible, and Gail gave the best recommendations (private chef, restaurants, and in-house massage therapist). We’ll definitely be back!

MEA Getaway in Whitefish
This was our second time back to Snow Bear Chalets. We had a wonderful time and I can't say enough great things about this property. It truly is like being in a Fairy Tale. We love hiking and exploring the trails of Whitefish, downtown allows for some great eating and drinking opportunities, but we love nothing more than the quietness of this property in the mountains this time of year. It's stunning. Gail is so wonderful to work with and really makes the stay so easy.

Best place to be on the Mountain
The treehouse was everything we wanted and more. From the moment we walked in, we knew this would be a special vacation. The view is amazing, the treehouse is well appointed and the location is fantastic. The landlord was very responsive to communications. We loved our stay and hope to return.

Amazing views
This was a great property for us to stay. We loved our time with the Snow Bear Chalets. Plan for the drive time up the mountain to go to other places in Montana however it was easy to get in and out. We loved sitting on the balcony with a glass of wine or beer watching the night sky. So peaceful. with private views & such.

Anniversary
Surprised my wife with an anniversary trip to montana (we’re from texas) and booked this chalet. What a gorgeous property and fantastic host. Everything turned out to just as advertised! If i can figure out now how to get the whole family here during skiing season, we’d be good to go for the year!!

Stay at Tamarack Chalet - Aug 2019
A very pleasant stay in Tamarack chalet, quiet environment. Bedroom and mezzanine are well designed, as well as the terrace and hot tub. Note : allowing better recycling (glass, plastics) of trash would be a +. Within walking distance of the mountain resort, with several activities available for everyone. Not too far from Glacier NP, a must see as well.

Amazingly luxurious home!
Tamarack is first class! Home is wonderful and furnishings are wonderful. The kitchen was well stocked as were the bathrooms. We enjoyed our stay so much! Whitefish is a very neat area and this home is right in the ski area.

Summer visit to Tamarack
Gail and her team performed as advertised. The Tamarack was just the right size for four with clean and updated accommodations. The kitchen was well stocked and had everything one would need. We travelled to GNP twice and into Whitefish daily with no trouble at all. Would recommend any of the Snow Bear Chalets...we had a great time away from the southern heat.

The snow bear chalets have become one of my all time favorite places to stay. We have stayed in some of the top rated places around the world but none of the places came close to the comfort and accommodations of the snow bear chalets. The chalets are stocked with everything you may need for a long stay. Plenty of cookware, soft robes, sono sound system, hot tub, aveda toiletries, and the most comfortable heated mattresses. The chalet was designed in such an amazing way that the space feels very spacious yet warm and cozy at the same time. Plenty of room for our family. Gail and Teryn went above and beyond to make our vacation special. The snow bear chalets should be on everyone’s bucket list!!

Awesome place, but must be OK with “cozy”
This is an awesome place, but be aware that it is not big. It is ski-in-ski-out which is great. The furnishings and finishes are all first rate. But you have to be OK with the idea of cozy. Upstairs is a loft with a king size bed and bunk beds. Off the kitchen is a nook with another king-sized bed. I’d hesitate to call this a room as it’s really just big enough for the bed. There are slider doors that can separate it from the other rooms. The upstairs area has the bigger bathroom, but the downstairs room seems to make more sense for the parents to sleep in if you are traveling with kids. Overall, a great place to stay, but you have to expect that it’s a unique space.

Tranquil and Luxurious
I have recommended a stay at the Snow Bear Chalets to everyone I have spoken to since we arrived home. We stayed in the Tamarack treehouse and loved every thing about it from the heated floors to the most comfortable bed I have ever slept in away from home. The treehouse gave us luxury, but still allowed us to feel at home while we were there. We visited during the "shoulder season" so the mountain was quiet. There wasn't much open at the near by mountain resort, but Whitefish has many wonderful restaurants just 15minutes down the mountain. It snowed during our stay and we felt like we were in a snow globe with all of the beautiful windows the treehouse has. It is a beautiful place to stay. We look forward to staying here again, during a different season, so we can enjoy some of the activities on the mountain.

Definitely lived up to the expectations!
We have our own vacation rentals so I’m very picky and have high expectations. Gail has been amazing to work with and the treehouse was fabulous. We have 4 older boys and the loved it. It was very peaceful and relaxing. I highly recommend staying here.

Nailed it!
Tamarack puts other vacation rentals to shame. The space is designed well, furnished comfortably, and has everything you need for a relaxing stay. (And unlike so many other places I've stayed, it isn't so full of clutter that you can't focus on the views - which are great!) I especially appreciated the owner's recommendations for restaurants and hikes in the area and also in Glacier National Park. I look forward to returning again in future years!

Great place to stay.
The accommodating were very nice . Top notch appliances and comfortable furnishings. However our neighbors didn’t placed there curtains down during their slumber . Privacy was an issue . I would definitely recommend his place to anyone wanting a great place to stay .

Spectacular!

Boutique chic ski in/out
We absolutely love snow bear chalets. We stayed in Tamarack. 2 bedrooms, one down great for a couple, upstairs king and bunk beds great for another couple or kids. Right on green slope with lift. Fully stocked, everything you need except food(stop in whitefish for that) great jacuzzi etc. We will be back. Gail is amazing host and took very good care of all our needs. Even hooked us up with guide. Incred!

Amazing one of a kind destination. Treehouse on the slopes!
My family had the opportunity to stay in the Tamarack Chalet for a week. WOW is all I can say. From the architecture to the materials used in the construction, and then being high above in a tree house, its truly a unique experience. Being slope side was amazing. Nothing better than skiing to your front door. All amenities were within walking distance and chair #3 was a great place to be located. It offered a nice run for my youngest and the terrain park was perfect for my teenager. The host, Gail, was awesome to communicate with through out the entire process. She is easily accessible and responsive to our needs. I hope to be back soon!

Tamarack stay
Our stay was remarkable thanks to the outstanding accommodations and the location of the chalet. Everything regarding the treehouse was first class, from the moment you walk in to the day you leave you are surrounded by luxury with a special feel of being in the wilderness and picturesque views. This treehouse was so well thought out by the designer that it made the stay a very memorable experience. Another plus to our stay was the driving distance down the mountain to the city of Whitefish, wish is a very quaint and beautiful city in itself. I would highly recommend Tamarack to anyone that wants to have an incredible stay in Montana!

The property was great, but the owners were dishonest
We had a terrible time at the treehouse mostly because the service. I had a couple of kids come over to the house who were staying at another nearby rental. The lady in charge got super upset and stole approx $600 from my deposit, stating that we only reserved the property for two people. She claimed we got "crayon" on the bed sheets and scratched a chair. We didn't even have crayons with us, and there's no way the kids scratched a chair. I can't stand people who do business dishonestly so I'm rating this property a 1. Also, the tree house has no privacy. There were tree houses on each side of it, and people stared right in on us. It was creepy.

David, I'm sorry to see that you wrote such a poor review after your text messages to me upon check out stating, "Thanks for the great accommodation and service." You rented our treehouse for two people, you and your girlfriend- and no children. You had friends who rented another nearby property, and they spent a great deal of time-including spending the night in our treehouses- with EIGHT young children. You had a total of 12 people in a treehouse that you rented for just two- and brought 8 small children into a property this not suited for children under the age of 6. Every bed in the treehouse was used, there was damage and additional cleaning fees for 12 people rather than just two. As I mentioned to you in my email, you were in violation of the Rental Agreement that you signed prior to staying with us, and we could have kept your entire $1500 deposit. However, in the sprit of kindness, we kept only around $500 for actual damages and extra cleaning charges and returned the balance to you. Two brand new stools were badly scratched, and one set of sheets has what the cleaning crew thought was crayon (or blood), that wouldn't come out when cleaned. We tried to take the high road in giving a partial refund, even when you violated the Rental Agreement by bringing 12 people into a property rented for two. This is the only deduction we've made from a guest's security deposit in 5 years of being a VRBO owner, and the only review we've ever received that isn't a 5-star review.

Very fun!
My teenage kids loved the loft turret and the hot tub on the deck. I appreciated the privacy in the master. We had everything we needed in the kitchen and bathroom. Only one coffee addict complaint; the coffeemaker is a bit cumbersome, and takes a LONG time to brew! Not a big deal - it is a beautiful place.

What an experience to be in a beautiful hot tub up in the trees! We bought a high end OXO coffee maker because of the versatility it offers for tea drinkers too. Once you figure out how to use it, our guests so far have loved it. The instruction cheat sheet is in the guest manual for those who need help the first time. Once they figure it out we've had guests tell us that they're buying one when they return home. Should it be a problem for additional guests, we'll replace it with a standard one. Simply Magical!
The best way to summarize the treehouse chalet is pure MAGIC! Gail has such an incredible eye for creating a charming, comfortable environment for guests. Every last detail was thought out and planned carefully to create a warm, inviting and relaxing stay. Upon arrival, Gail warmly welcomed us and offered fantastic suggestions for local eateries, activities, and sights. Once we were able to finally motivate ourselves to leave the patio porch, exploring Whitefish was just a hop off the door step! It was an incredible week filled with many memories - definitely an experience we will never forget! My husband and I are still debating our favorite part: The hot-tub under the stars? The view of Whitefish Mountain 30 feet up? Coffee on the patio listening to the wind and the trees? Morning/evening strolls along the trails right outside the front door? We simply cannot pick just one! We are so grateful for this wonderful experience and are anxious to book another week mid-winter!
