Booked room through Expedia. Inn was closed for season! Upon arrival, the owner asked to see my confirmation. She said they were closed for the season. After waiting about 30 minutes, the owner returned and said we could check in. We were the only 2 people in the entire place! Alone! No Wi-Fi, phone service, security, lighting other than our floor. It felt like being in the movie “The Shining”. For $176, I am outraged. No amenities, apologies, credit for breakfast. Nothing!

The property was very dated. Felt like a time warp back to the 70s. The room was very clean. The jacuzzi was great. Toilet was VERY low to the floor. No coffee or continental breakfast offered/available. Venice restaurant was very overpriced and the food wasn’t good. Overall… a 3 out of 5 experience.

Expedia negotiated a room change from double queen to king without penalty. But upon arrival, I was assigned a double queen. The card key didn't work and staff closed office at 6:00 PM. Even though check-in is advertised untill 10:00 PM. Finally, received new king assignment, but it wasn't a standard king, instead it was a Handicap King which was awful. So, slept in Handicap king and waited til next day to be reassigned standard king, Basically, I overpaid as Black Friday rate was never applied. I will not return to the Winnapaug Inn in the future. And, further use of Expedia is also in question.

Very clean. Spartan to a degree. Microwave and fridge nice touch. No coffee maker, clock or glassware but nice large room and comfortable bed.
