The hotel is simple, but clean. It's not a fancy hotel, but it is affordable and has a nice location if you are travelling the ring road.

Spent one night at this property. We showed up late in the night, but they had an easy self-check in process. Room was simple and had everything we needed. Beds were comfy and warm. Breakfast had the essentials (coffee, tea, breads and spreads, I think some eggs/meats as well though I can't recall now since I'm vegan). Location was great. We were able to walk to a nearby brewery and the black sand beach was also really close. No complaints!

Not excellent, but definitely not poor. Clean, nice bathroom, good beds. Located in a business district, but still walking distance from a delightful brewhouse. Friendly, helpful people always. One improvement they could make is a place to open two suitcases... (seems a no brainer for a double room.) If we're ever in Vik again we would happily return to the Puffin Hotel.

Basic hotel but clean and comfortable
Stayed here one night as part of a self organised touring holiday of Iceland. The Puffin Hotel is well located in the middle of Vik. Bear in mind that Vik is tiny spanning only a few streets. But nearby is the Soup Company cafe and a restaurant come micro brewery that does excellent burgers. The Troll tour company operates from this point too making it handy to pick up a tour. A big shout out to the front desk person who was super helpful and helped us dry boots that took a soaking earlier in the day. Our early morning tour on our departure day meant we would miss breakfast but the front desk arranged a packed breakfast for us to take with us. Not a cheap stay and expensive even compared to a 4 star London hotel but then nothing is good value in Iceland compared to what you are used to. So you just have to factor it into your budget.

The room was clean. Breakfast was typical for Iceland with the addition of fresh waffles. Walkable to restaurants, black sand beach and hikes. Need to go up stairs to most rooms (no elevator). Plenty of free parking.

We enjoyed our one-night stay while traveling around Iceland. The hotel was a bit pricy and the bathroom needed a shelf. Alternatively, the people were nice and helpful. A quick walk to a gorgeous black sand beach. An okay value.

Great stay!
Our stay at Puffin Hotel was great! Located steps away from the beach and so close to bars and restaurants. The room was very clean and comfortable, and we enjoyed the breakfast as well. We’d definitely recommend, and would stay there again when next in Vik!

From check in to checkout service was above and beyond. Breakfast started a few minutes early because we had to leave at 7. The laundry service was so helpful, a little pricey from a laundromat, but none available. Wash, dried and folded in under 4 hours. Room was lovely.
