Hotel Rossi

“Very basic accommodations in excellent location”

Most important to us was budget price as we had been travelling around Europe for two weeks and kept our costs in mind. Second was convenience to Ple. Roma and the Train station. This hotel is a 10 minute walk to/from the bus station plaza (Ple. Roma) Only one bridge to cross! It is set back from the main street so it is much quieter than many of the very high priced hotels in that area. Our room was described as a spacious double, but we had to put one of or carry on sized bags on the chair and the other in the closet. We were pleased that it had a tiny balcony. Shower on first floor did not work, but the second one, shared by two floors was fine and over two days and nights we had no problems with people waiting to use it. Hotel staff were cordial and helpful and have a hairdryer at the front desk for guests to use. As we both read at night we missed having a working light behind the bed. It was broken or bulbs burned out. Bed was comfortable and clean. Breakfast was described as full breakfast, but it was only continental rolls, juice and coffee.

Location was good close to the train station and shops, cafes etc. Enjoyed the stay, staff helpful & friendly. Breakfast was nice.

“Great location, small rooms”

Great location - 10 minute walk from the bus station, less from the train station. Really well placed for a short walk into the heart of Venice. The room was a little bit small (no surprise for being 5 minutes from the heart of Venice), air conditioned, decent shower, breakfast included (where breakfast means the usual rolls and jam with coffee). The staff are friendly and generally nice - the desk is staffed 24 hours. The hotel is possibly difficult to find (it's down a small road) but this means it is quiet so we slept well. Make sure you mark it on a map before you go.
