The Lido of Venice, a slender, 11.5-km (7.25-miles) island facing the Adriatic Sea that lies a 12-minute waterbus ride east of central Venice, is the city's playground, especially in summer. Year-round, visitors rent bicycles to explore the island, play golf on a course at the island's southern tip 8.5 km (5.25 miles) from the hotel, or take horseback rides.
Much of the Lido's eastern shoreline features public beaches, but there are also many private beaches furnished with cabanas that can be rented by the day from about June 1 to September 1. Cabanas are expensive, often costing as much, or more, than visitors' hotel rooms. For guests staying a minimum of two nights, the hotel offers complimentary use of beach cabanas, umbrellas, and lounge chairs located across the width of the island 600 meters (656 yards) away.
The Venezia Spiagge Beach Resort, 700 yeards away, offers the use of beach facilities including beach facilities with longue chairs and sun umbrellas for a surcharge.
