“Positive Experience”

Our experience at Hotel Locanda Canal was very good. The hotel and room were exceptionally clean and the breakfast was one of the more generous ones offered during our Italy vacation. We had some difficulty finding the hotel. I called for directions and the gentleman working asked for our location and came and escorted us to the hotel( we were very close). On the negative side, there is no elevator with a lengthy stairway and we were awakened nightly by noises made by the other guests. I would recommend this hotel to others.

“This hotel was a home from home”

This hotel has a fantastic location, less than a minute away from Piazza San Marco and was easy to find even on arrival. It's really close to shops and restaurants and because of its location it is easy to nip back to during the day without interrupting your plans. All the staff were very welcoming, friendly and easy going, and it really did feel like a home from home and added to my enjoyment of my stay in Venice. My room was very well presented and very clean and breakfast options very varied and generous. If I am lucky enough to return to Venice I would be very happy to stay at this hotel again.

“Très bon rapport qualité/prix”

Petit hotel très bien placé (à quelques mètres de la place St Marc, 5 min à pied environ), très propre et très calme. Petit dej inclus et accès internet via un ordinateur en libre service. Un excellent rapport qualité-prix avec un très bon accueil.

“Perfect for a Singleton!”

A real find. A charming little hotel on a delightful, quiet canal only 5 mins from San Marco. The single room was fabulous. Three quarter bed. Small but smart and clean bathroom with shower - entirely adequate. Fridge. And best of all - two french windows opening onto balcony overlooking canal AND a seperate set of doors opening onto little outside patio area with table and two chairs. Breakfast was pretty basic but all the usual stuff was there. There is a computer with free internet access for guest use but it was only working on one of the nights I was there. Staff very helpful and allowed me use of the Reception desk computer to quickly check e-mail. Have stayed in LOTS of hotels in Venice but this was best for a trip on your own. Didn't have any real trouble finding it. Just make sure you have a good map! One very satisfied customer!

“SUPER BIEN”

En lisant les commentaires sur Expedia, j'avais un avis partagé. Mais à l'arrivée grosse suprie, l'hôtel est vraiment tout proche de la place SAINT MARC, un hôtel coquet à l'italienne, des hôteliers très accueillant (parlant le français), une chambre et des sanitaires propres,malgré une température très chaude à l'extérieure, la climatisation fonctionnait super bien. un petit déjeuner copieux et délicieux. Par contre, mais c'est le problème général de Venise, nous avons tournés quelques minutes avant de trouver l'hôtel mais les commerçants aux alentours ont pu nous aider rapidement. Je recommande VRAIMENT cet hôtel, un très bon qualité prix !!!!!

“Hidden jewel”

I hesitate to write about his b/c I do not want the word to get out but this little hotel on a small canal is delightful. The desk people were helpful and kind (even though the one desk clerk left out a few things from her directions to the restaurant but that is standard in Venice). When I first got to the hotel, I was told they had double booked my single but they were putting me in a double until the next day. I was not to worry about anything they would move my stuff in the next day themselves. The double was luxurious with double bed and chaise and murano chandlier. The next day I came back to find I had been moved into my little single - while not as luxurious it had charms all its own. Both room overlooked a tiny canal and you could hear the gondoliers calling out from a nearby canal. It was very quiet and away from the crowds and yet a 10 min or less walk to San Marco. This is my 4th stay in Venice and this was the best!

“Very good value for the money”

This was a very nice hotel for the money; The room was modest but adequate, and it was made up every day. The service staff responded immediatley to two small issues we noted on arrival: the TV wasn't working and the mini-bar wasn't cooling. Breakfast was excellent, as was the location - five minutes from St. Mark's square and in the middle of restaurants. It took some searching, but we were able to locate local grocery stores and to eat fabulous cold-cut dinners in the room, a welcome change from constant restaurant fare. I'd go back.

“Séjour très agréable au Locanda Canal”

Très bon accueil de tout le personnel. Si la façade est quelconque, l'intérieur des chambres est de style vénitien. Situé sur un rio très calme il permet de se reposer parfaitement à 5 minutes à pied de la Place St Marc et de son tapage touristique. Le petit déjeuner buffet est copieux et de bonne qualité.

De taille modeste, l'hôtel est situé en plein de coeur de Venise. Les environs sont cependant calmes pour profiter d'une bonne nuit de repos. Par contre ne vous attendez pas forcement à une vue sur un des canaux de la Sérénissime ... L'exiguïté des rues de Venise ne permet pas d'avoir un bon point de vue assez dégagé pour profiter du charme de la ville.

“marvelous small hotel in centre of Venice”

We were very pleased with the location of our hotel, only 2 minutes from St Mark's Square. Very small and compact, but clean and air conditioned. Breakfast was served between 8-10am, Adequate and pleasant staff. There was a chair lift, stairs were steep and windy, but cases carried for us. l would recommend this hotel for a short stay.
