Only one star. Booked the exclusive room #303. A strong sewer smell from bathroom filled entire room. The only remedy was to close the bathroom door and keep the bad smell there but then when entering the bathroom door we got nauseous every time. I put the wet towel over a shower drain and that helped little bit but overnight the smell seeped in anyway. The first front desk person said that that is normal in all Venice hotels but he sent a technician up there. The technician didn’t fix it. Anyway this kind of experience killed anything nice I could say about the hotel. Actually the blacony was nice because we had a nice view and we could escape the stench.

The AC didn’t work. Not ideal when you’re on 4 th floor. So we had to open windows however, no screens on windows so tons of mosquitoes and left with multiple bites. No elevator for first floor and last floor. Maybe that’s common in Venice but kinda inconvenient when you’re carrying suitcases. And no coffee… in Venice… sorry instant decaf. What even. Then you have to pay 1 euro to get one downstairs. They ask to leave your key at front desk and when we come back they just give you the key back without asking ID, a staff member we hadn’t yet met. Huge security risk. And not waterfront as advertised by Expedia. Or even a view of waterfront.

Cutest, sweetest, most delightful property. This was our third time there. Tiny room and bathroom but clean and with excellent air conditioner. Good WiFi, good enough cell reception. Staff were wonderful, helpful, and responsive. Breakfast very nice. Stairs to enter hotel, but have stair lift. Close to Piazza San Marco and the Vaporetto docks. Easy to walk everywhere as well.

Good location. Adequate. Small. Nice staff. NOT Ada compliant. Several stairs up to lobby. The hand rail electric “lift” was not operational. I had to climb the stairs backwards on my hands and bottom. Humiliating. An ATM would be nice. Couldn’t find one nearby.

Dear Mary,we are sorry and surprised to read this review. Probably you did not like our hotel but the elevator works and on every website there is a picture of the stairs to reach the first floor. Moreover, we never saw people climbing the stairs as you described. By the way, in our area there are at least 7 ATM machines, you could have asked the staff and we would have been happy to help you.Kind regards

The pictures make the property look luxurious and much larger than it is. Room was time, no air and there was an elevator but you had to climb 20 steps to get to the elevator. Then our room was on the same floor as the front d so, you had to go up two stairs, down three. My point not easy for those with mobility issues and lugging suitcases. The good thing is the staff were very accommodating and friendly.

thank you for your review the photos are recent and reflect the structureThe building being ancient has an entrance with a flight of stairs of which we have also put the photo to inform our guests. While from the hall there is an elevator to go to the other 3 floors.

Excellent stay at Antigo
The hotel staff were very friendly, there’s a 24hr concierge which is wonderful, the facilities were great, the optional breakfast was very nice. The beds were very comfortable and the bedding was high quality. We all commented on how well we slept. The location is great too, 5 minute walk from St. Marks square with some nice cafes, bars and restaurants nearby.

Fantastic Hotel!
Wonderful hotel. Location near San Marco was perfect. so convenient. Staff were all very nice and helpful. room was large and clean with many windows and closet space and big bathroom. Really great hotel.

Excelente ubicación! Inmejorable. Lo bueno es que tiene recepcionista 24 horas, aunque el de la noche tiene muy poco sentido de servicio al cliente. Cuartos amplios y cómodos. Lo recomiendo 100%.

Room and entrance
The room was small but comfortable. Good shower and bath facility and the balcony was an amazing bonus. The major drawback was the entrance - a flight of marble stairs leading to the second story entrance (with no doorman or assistance). Traveling for over a month we had four bags - this was a real struggle with the rain.

It’s clean but our room had a very strong chlorine or chlorux smell. The staff was pleasant enough but no one offered to help us carry our luggage up the steps, which was a big hurdle for us up to the reception area. There is a lift to the next floor, thank goodness.

Dear Guest, the smell you reported is what we use to hygenize rooms. It just goes away keeping windows open for a while. In case it was still too strong for you, if you would have let us know, we could have helped you. Regarding the entrance, there are a few steps as visible on every booking website. Since we are a 3 star hotel, unfortunately there is no porter service here. Best regards

We stayed one night pre cruise. The location was perfect -just minutes from Saint Mark’s. It was very easy to find from San zaccaria taxi stop. The room was comfortable with a large bathroom. Breakfast was not included but there are many options close by. The concierge was very helpful with transportation and dining information.

Clean, bright, quiet and great locatìon nestled in an alleyway just off the main waterfront walk and very close to San Marco Piazza. 30 minute walk from the train station using Google Maps.

La ubicación perfecta, el personal muy amable y las habitaciones limpias y espaciosas. Los únicos peros que pondría seria que los colchones están un poco duros y que la primera noche no sirvió el A/C. No nos pudieron cambiar de habitacion por que no tenían disponibles y esto nos genero pasar una mala noche, pero el día siguiente fue arreglado inmediatamente.

This was right next to the water taxi drop off so we didn’t have to drag our bags far at all. I had requested a bathtub ( honestly that is the reason I booked it) the manager said I didn’t request it and when he pulled out my reservation to prove it to me it said clear as day Bathtub). Other than that small glitch it was close to everything. Rooms looked just like the pictures. Venice is wonderful and I will go again. This is my 3rd time to go.

The hotel was perfect, in everyway, except the air conditioner did not work well. Fortunately it was too hot when we visited. The staff was real nice. Perfect location for the price

Great location. Two minutes from Saint Mark’s Square and two minutes from vaporetto stop. Room was clean and a good size. Staff were friendly. Luggage storage included which was a huge bonus for us.

The best thing about this hotel is its location just a few streets from San Marco. Of course it gives you easy access to dining an shopping, but it also helps you find your way home. As you wander around Venice, there are signs pointing you to San Marco. Simply follow the signs, head to water, go across a bridge, then make a left on the second street and you’re there! It’s also just up the street from a water taxi stop! The hotel appears to have been completely refurbished recently. What I didn’t like about this hotel was the charges for things: a euro for a cup of coffee, 12 euros for breakfast even though the hotel-provided map claimed breakfast was always free!
