We were happy with our room. The lighting was not great but everything else was fine. The hotel is well situated, close to town. Parking was excellent.

We stayed in a loft suite for four nights in June 2015. It didn't function very well. The bedroom was in the loft while the bathroom, a closet and an armoir were downstairs, so we dressed in the living area. There was not enough light on the main floor at night. A very small TV, maybe 19 inches, was in the armoir; there was a much larger one in the bedroom, but we never used it, not being people who watch TV while laying in bed. It was hot while we were there, about low to mid-80's, although it cooled down nicely at night, however, the loft suite had very poor air circulation. Only one tall, narrow window on the main floor opened, and we didn't leave it open at night to cool the room because an intruder could easily have crossed onto our balcony from a neighboring balcony and entered the room. A ceiling fan mounted on the vaulted ceiling had only one very high speed, but didn't do much to move the air in the bedroom. The hotel supplied an oscillating fan, but it would have been more comfortable and much quieter with a ceiling fan with several speeds in the bedroom. The included breakfast was basic but adequate, with pastries, cold cereal (two of three were sugary), toast, coffee, tea, juices, plain yogurt, and diced fruit. The breakfast room was in an odd location, reached by a roundabout route, and was apparently in the basement, even though it was called the Bird's Nest.

We had a two level suit, which is living room upstairs, bedroom downstairs. It was a good fit for us since my husband was traveling and need to work a little. He can start his day early working upstairs while we are sleeping downstairs.

"Quiet end of town."
Despite the hotel being a bit dated the room was comfortable and clean. Upon arrival there was no reception and we had to check-in at the hotel across the road, and therefore we felt a bit abandoned and isolated with no handy guest services and information on the immediate property. Room services were still provided however. Unfortunately upon both check-in and check-out we were not advised that a "bond" was deducted from our credit card and this caused us concern since this had been done without our authorisation and we were left wondering how the hotel could do such a thing without informing us. Upon phoning the hotel after we had departed this was all explained to us, but it did cause some worry and unnecessary concern which should not happen once we had left the property and we had already travelled a fair way to our next destination.

Resort is located outside Banff so you must drive to enjoy any of the activities the town has to offer. Construction on new lobby area was underway so many construction vehicles in and around main entrance. Condo we had was small but fit the needs of 2 guests.

The place smelled like there had been smoke damage from fireplace. It was hot and doors could not be opened for ventilation because of broken screen doors.
