Savage Lake
Fun girls weekend with wonderful waterfront property. Big wide open lawn down to the lake which we very much enjoyed! Kitchen was well stocked for our "Crocktober" soup and stew cook-off. The loft with the 6 queen beds was super comfortable, appreciated the windows and skylights that opened. The other unexpected bonus was the dry firewood available which we enjoyed in the evenings in the living room fireplace.

Vacation home
Beautiful location on savage lake. House was older but well kept. Plenty of beds for a large group (only 5 of us). Fully stocked kitchen, plenty of lawn chairs, and more dvds than a blockbuster.

Family Gathering
Spent time in Troy for a family wedding. Had 3 families share this lodge which included 4 twenage boys. They all loved the lake access and proximity to outdoor activities. Plenty of room for us all.

Family fun!!
The property was as described, a nice cabin feel and we immediately felt at home, we added another day. We had so much fun with the kayaks and boats. We had boat vs kayak races. There is enough space in the cabin for everyone to gather or go into a room and nap. We loved this place, thank you Tom for an amazing vacation, if you find any paper airplanes around, sorry, we had a paper airplane flying contest of the deck!!

Hidden Gem on Beautiful Exclusive Lake
This is a darling little A-Frame on Savage Lake. The property is beautiful and the lake is quiet and peaceful. Thomas was a great host. I will point out to pay close attention to the directions in the listing. Our GPS did not take us to the house using the address. Other than that the house has everything you can think of and the location can not be beat.

Perfect Cabin at the Lake!
We celebrated my daughter's graduation and had a blast using the big yard, waterfront and dock to play and relax. Lots of fun for everyone.

Gorgeous scenery but lots of chores
The location is BEAUTIFUL! The house is good. For the price I did feel like we had to do a few too many chores to check out. We had to wash and dry the towels, take the trash to the curb, clean the whole house, and more. They will charge extra if you don’t clean the toilets, leave food in the fridge, put the kayak and chairs back. Again, great location, but I wouldn’t book it again because when I’m on vacation I don’t want to deep clean the house & do all the laundry. It also makes me wary because that means when we arrived it wasn’t professionally cleaned but cleaned by the last guests. Book it if you love the location but don’t mind the chores.

Great Lake Cabin
We had a great relaxing time at this cute cabin. My adult kids and their significant others flew in, met us there and loved it. There was enough room that we all had our privacy. Beds were comfy. Kitchen was well stocked with cooking utensils. Good location for our dogs. Fishing was great on Savage Lake and the surrounding areas. Lots to do and enjoy.

A family retreat
The accommodation was just as advertised! The location was perfect, an amazing place for our family reunion! Everything was available from kitchen supplies to towels to outdoor floaties and much more! Cell service was spotty and no wifi which was indicated prior to renting. Tom was easily available when needed. We had a fantastic vacation of 2 weeks! Already booking again for next summer!

Great location and the lake was beautiful. Property itself was nice outside- lots of amenities and nice yard and dock. Great fishing! Inside was less notable. The cleanliness level was not impressive.

Beautiful lake but DIRTY house
The location, grounds and lake were absolutely stunning but the house left a lot to be desired. The house was absolutely dirty upon arrival, leftover food in the fridge, used soap in the shower, dirty toilets, dust and dead bugs in every corner, etc. The house was also full of “stuff.” Literally, hundreds of DVD’s, blankets, papers, clutter, etc. The closets/drawers were so jam packed of things there was literally nowhere to put our stuff away. The house is not professionally cleaned but rather done by the owner. A deep clean is needed badly. If you don’t mind clutter, dust, dirt and dead bugs then this place is for you. Again, the lake and location is stunning, the owner is friendly but I can’t get past how dirty this place is. We are not picky people in terms of rentals, especially a wilderness/lake rental but it was shocking to walk into. No one should feel grossed out taking a shower or going to bed, especially for the price charged. Overall, sadly we would not return just due to cleanliness. The pictures shown are not an accurate representation of the home due to the amount of clutter and stuff now shoved in every corner/space.

Sarah --I am sorry for your take on our property. We have 6 hours between rentals at times and do what we can for cleaning each time. There is little storage space in the house and we try to keep only replacement items there. The refrigerator had condiments in 1 drawer and most people use them. Thats up to you. I spend as much time as possible on time with the vacuum and try to get the nooks and crannies. Help the last 2 years has been hard to find and unreliable. (Imagine what the place looks like when they can't come.) When I come the beds are washed and a once over is done in both bathrooms and kitchen. I always have more to do and usually work untill the next people come in. I would encourage you to try somewhere else, this place will not make you happy. Tom.

Our vacation.
It is a very pleasant place to stay. The lake is small and therefore warm. Nice dock also. Bathrooms had to be thoroughly cleaned and rugs washed. We would stay there again. Tom is a great person to work with.

needs a good cleaning.
Everything was great but it was in need of a good cleaning. Refrigerator and counters were sticky. Everything had dust on it. Was animal hair on rugs. My daughter and granddaughter spent a couple hours cleaning the first day.

Great place if you love beautiful scenery, water and fishing
Amazing views of mountains and water. Loved having a fishing boat and kayaks to enjoy this peaceful lake. Caught many fish right off the dock. Absolutely wonderful hiking to a waterfall that you can see and hear from the cabin. Well groomed yard and clean cabin that was well stocked with items that most usually forget. The beauty of this area viewed right off the deck is nothing short of picturesque. Loved our stay and looking forward to a return visit. Thank you Tom!

Lovely place on the lake
We used this house as a base for motorcycle riding around the area…it was perfect. So quiet and peaceful, there’s a very relaxing and comfortable feel to it. The lot is big and private, with amazing views out over the lake and to the mountains. Lots of room in the house, very comfortable. There’s everything you’ll need in the kitchen to cook too. It’s close enough to Libby to be easy to go to town. We will definitely stay here again if we can.

Savage Lake escape
Our family throughly enjoyed our time at the Savage Lake Lodge. It felt just like home and had everything we needed and then some. We will definitely be back. The views were absolutely stunning and the lake crystal clear. This is an absolute gem hidden in the middle of waiting adventures around every turn! Perfect for an extended family vacation!

The lake was perfect and the house is just what we were looking for. The check in a payment process was very easy and the owner was very quick to respond to any questions. We unfortunately had some problems with my elderly mother there so we only got to enjoy it for 1 day and had to leave 3 days early but I hope to come back again someday and really have some relaxing days at this great property.

Beautiful, with some things you should know.
The view and Savage lake is absolutely beautiful. Having the kayaks and aluminum boat here for our use was awesome. The condition of this cabin needs a little TLC. Soft floors in some places and paint peeling in some places. The big thing is there is a higher then normal content of iron on the water, so its yellow if you fill the tub. You can smell the iron when running the water. We ended up going into to Troy to get water for drinking. Because of its location and beauty we would stay there again. We were just taken back at these few issues.

Like a lot of homes on well water here in Montana, this is an issue. Our family has used the water for 15 years without problems. A 40 year house needs constant upkeep on the painting and I do as much as possible. Thank you for coming Matthew

My biggest complaint of the property was that it wasn’t clean and I had to do some cleaning before unloading our stuff. Also there was a lot of random stuff that most renters won’t use in the storage areas so I had to either rearrange stuff or put our stuff on the floors. And the water was very smelly which I know is an issue at the lake. Now for the good stuff… the spaces were comfortable and the kitchen was stocked well ( could use casserole or baking dishes). It has lots of beds and a king bed in the master which was great. The deck was a favorite spot to sit and visit when local family came over and it had lots of chairs and a gas grill. The yard was spacious and great for our dog , yard games and sitting around the fire in the evening. We loved the dock for relaxing and fishing and it made a nice little swimming area for the grandkids because of its L shape. We also appreciated the kayaks, life jackets and fire wood included in the rental and washer and dryer! We met the owner and he was very nice and accommodating. Overall this is a wonderful place and we would rent it again but knowing that I would probably be cleaning it when we first arrived.

Thank you for coming. We have sometimes 6 hours to clean, and we hit the high spots. Bathrooms, kitchen, floors, bedding, lawn mowing, watering. There is always something more we want to clean, but this seems to keep most people happy. Tom.

This is a great place for a family gathering. We rented both cabins and our group of 18 family members from. NEBRASKA had an amazing stay. My husband grew up in Libby MT he really enjoyed showing our family all the beautiful spots he enjoyed when he lived in the area, Ross Creek cedars, Kootenai falls, we went fishing in the Kootenai river and visited Lake Koocanusa (make sure to visit the swimming area while at Koocanusa so refreshing, the teens referred to it as the polar plunge 🤣) We love Montana and this little spot on Savage Lake did not disappoint. Thank you Tom for sharing your property with us.

Unbelievable Property near fantastic hiking!
If you are looking for a quiet place in a breathtaking setting, this is it! The view is amazing, and Tom provides multiple kayaks and row boat to enjoy the lake. You are also close to a lot of good hiking. We recommend the Leigh Lake hike!

This house was a great location for a getaway for 3 generations. It’s well-stocked with anything you could need and the yard, dock and boats are great for all types of playing. My son caught a fish a few minutes after arriving. Tom is always a very helpful and personable host.

This cabin was a beautiful spot on the lake. Very quiet, great views. Kitchen was well stocked with utensils, etc. My only suggestion would be to make the numbers on the road a little easier to see at night. Communication with Thomas was fantastic! Super fast response. Great location on water!
We loved staying at this home on savage lake. Within 15 miles or less there three beautiful and fun hikes - old highway 2, Ross creek cedars and Kootenai falls. Troy is also a short drive away if you need a grocery store or take out food. The lake was also fun to kayak on. It’d be great to come back in the summer to enjoy some swimming.

House that is good for family get together soon, nice dock, wild turkeys, well stocked house. Our only issue was the strong mineral/sulfur odor of the water in the house. This was especially true in the master bath.
