This is our fifth time traveling to Japan and first time staying outside Shinjuku. And this is our best decision to stay at this hotel. It is still close to everything but at a very nice and trendy neighborhood. The whole neighborhood is homey and fun to walk around. The hotel onsen is amazing and clean. We really enjoy it every day after walking all day. The staff is extremely helpful and friendly. And the breakfast is a must-have. We decided to make it our home for our future Tokyo visits.
Good location, good staff service, the room was a bit small and toilet was a bit smelly, nice and big onsen, sauna is also available, the only minus is they didn’t let us check in early when we were there 1.5 hours early and the breakfast was too pricey but horrible tasting.
This is a beautiful onsen in wonderful part of Tokyo. The staff are so kind and friendly and will do anything to help your stay be a relaxed and joyous occasion. The wonderful town of Shinto Kitazawa is with in walking distance, with all its fabulous restaurants, coffee houses and bars. And you are only twenty minutes by train from Shibuya and Shinjuku. Perfect and worth every yen
I wanted a place that would provide an authentic Japanese experience and this was lovely. It is relaxing, clean and a lovely escape from the City without being too far from the centre. I gave the accommodation 4 stars as we had to change rooms after the first night due to a strange humming noise but the hotel were very accommodating so I am not complaining! I will be back.
We arrived later than we'd hoped due to my wife being ill in the morning so sadly couldn't experience everything the hotel had to offer, but what we did experience was fabulous.
Check in was relaxed, we were shown the bath areas (though sadly couldn't use them due to said illness) before being shown to our room. 101 has it's own bath tub in its outdoors garden area which was such a treat! Truly excellent. We were unable to eat at the restaurant like we'd wanted as it is by booking only which I hadn't seen so be advised of that.
Breakfast the next day was very special indeed! Truly spoilt for choice and everything was exceptional (though I just couldn't stomach the salted natto).
Staff were excellent throughout and my wife and I have agreed that next time we're in Tokyo we're staying here again to give us a proper chance to enjoy it 😊
The ryokan is absolutely beautiful and serene. I chose it for my stay in Tokyo to offset the hustle and bustle and it did not disappoint. It was great to come back to at the end of a long day touring and I loved that it was basically on top of a metro station which made getting around super easy.
This was one of the nicest hotels I've ever stayed at. The staff was very attentive and welcoming, the onsen is relaxing and quiet with plenty of amenities. The room was so perfect - very large and comfortable with a huge outdoor area. The beds were comfortable and it was perfectly clean. It's a very short distance from the train station and in a quiet area but close to Shimokitazawa shopping/dining etc. Bonus Track down the street was really cozy a great place to grab an outdoor drink/snack. Overall would absolutely return and recommend!
We had the most wonderful stay during our time in Kyoto! The neighborhood is wonderful with numerous excellent dining options less within a 10 min walk. Highly recommend and would definitely stay here again when returning to Kyoto.
Thank you very much for your stay with us, and we appreicate your comment. Please kindly accept our sincere apology for this unpleasant experience on your departure morning.
Yuen Bettei was a great place to stay- gorgeously appointed and a lovely area - easy access to the Metro.
There is a great restaurant bar area around the Shimo-Kitazawa station. Highly recommend.
A beatiful escape so close to the hustle and bustle of Shibuya and Tokyo. Would definitely stay here again if we come back to Tokyo. Did wish they had laundry services of some kind. If travelling with more than one person, opt for a bigger room. Great service, offered a map of the area and great suggestions! The bar/tea house/cafe was amazing as well. Really stylish yukatas.
This accomodation is very organized, relaxing and comfotable. The architecture is quite cool and like traditional Japanese inn (Ryokan). But the design of furniture is like japanese but function is like western style. So you can enjoy the facilities like you were staying in Japanese inn but feel comfortable with the function of furnitures you would be used to use.. Especially, having hot spring in the centre of Tokyo is the most attractive point. I ate Japanese style breakfast and are so tasty.
