“Seattle Globetrotter”
Great location. Right next to Akihabara station.
“Well located and comfortable hotel”
We were very happy with this hotel in Tokyo, which my husband and I stayed in for 3 nights during our holiday around Japan (we are in our mid twenties). It was really easy to find, even when jet lagged and tired after our flight, and very well located for getting around the city to see the major sites. The room was very clean, comfortable and modern, and although on the small side, it was much better than we had anticipated given all the reviews we'd read on Tokyo hotels! The staff were kind and had good English, and were able to help us book a day trip for the next day. The hotel itself is located just outside the south side of the Akihabara station, about 30 seconds walk from it. This station has both the JR yamanote line and local trains running through it, so is very convenient for getting to most places you'll want to see. Despite being so close to the station, the room was quiet (we were in a room facing the street) and we didnt hear much, although we were on the top floor I think. The Akihabara electric town area is very close also -the hotel has free maps in English of the area's highlights. Plenty of places to get food too within 5min walk. Our room was a semi-double I think, and was fine for the two of us (my husband is 6 feet tall and had no trouble with the bed length, but only just) All in all, a good hotel that we'd be happy to stay in again.
“Hôtel Tokyo Akihabara”
Hôtel très bien situé à la sortie de la station JR Akihabara. Moderne et en excellent état d'entretien.
“A cosy stay in Akihabara”
The overall standard of the hotel was very pleasing. Our room was always cleaned to a high standard. The staff were very friendly, although there were some communication problems due to language differences. The room was quite compact, however, it had every thing we needed and was perfect for our 8 night stay. The only negative point would be the noise of the toilet system. It seemed that everytime a guest used the toilet, it would make a loud bang which could be heard from the surrounding rooms which could disturb you in the night. It wasn't a major issue though as after a few nights we had become used to the sound. Also all of the TV channels were in Japanese. It would have been nice to have at least 1 English channel to know what was happening in relation to the news.
“Great hotel in Akihabara”
The Washington is an excellent hotel in Akihabara - service was good, room was small but modern. 2 mins walk from the Yamanote line for exploring Tokyo.
“Good location”
Stayed here on a business trip. Excellent location - across from Akihabara metro with access to many stores and shops. Decent breakfast buffet. Small room but comfortable bed and clean overall. Staff spoke little English; however, better than most of the people in Tokyo. Would return for business, but might find a more frills hotel for personal vacation.
“nice, efficient, clean, great views”
location: excellent. close to everything you would want in akihabara condition of room: small but comfortable, nice and clean. excellent view from our room in the front of the hotel of all the hubbub in the area. staff: most had a very hard time with english which was tough since we didn't know any japanese. but we muddled through and got checked in. also, helped us get info about a shuttle to the airport and a cab since we were too late for the shuttles. good about holding our luggage when we checked out until we needed the cab to to the airport. shuttles: do not leave from this hotel. we would have had call to reserve and then shlep to a neighboring hotel. downside: there are smoking rooms in this hotel and we smelled smoke in the elevators.
