Aldi, Lidl and many other stores close by. Airport 10 minutes away. Ignore previous comments regarding dogs barking. We stayed 3 weeks and this was never an issue. "A great place to stay with a great host. The apartment is just a few miles from the coast and so it was a few degrees cooler and therefore much more pleasant than down on the main resorts. "the villa was part of a small complex on a Banana plantation and had been converted to a high standard with generous rooms, double beds, good showers, kitchen etc. The outdoors area was well set out with plenty of private room and a small plunge pool for when the temperature soars. The complex is a drive away from anywhere and there is no wandering to the nearest shops or beach - you will need to get in your car for everythng. The other thing to note is that this is a working banana plantation...

"We spent 2 wonderful weeks at La Bodega over the New Year. The cottages are located in the pretty and friendly village of St. Miguel, an ideal base for excursions in all directions of the island. They are equipped with all the necessities, nothing is missing. The location, with pool and garden, is fantastic. The spacious arrangement of the 4 cottages offers plenty of privacy. The friendly hosts Sheila and Ray are always available and have a very good sense of when a short and nice conversation...

"A great place to rest and get away from it all but somewhat neglected and with some deficiencies in the house. Communication from the owner has been dry, reduced and terse. The jacuzzi-pool in the advertisement was a bit dirty and did not work and the owner told us that it never worked. A water pipe under the sink suddenly broke down and we had to keep bailing water every time we went to wash the dishes. The doorknob on the bathroom door was also broken.
