“HAD EVERYTHING”

With a party of 5, 4 adults and a teenager, we stayed for 13 days and the hotel had everything we needed. The hotel was ideally situated for our purpose. We were mainly down there for baseball exhibition games plus the theme parks, Busch Gardens and Adventure Island which were only minutes away. Best of all were the numerous restaurants within a 10 minute drive. Breakfast was everything necessary, fruits, cereals, toast, bagels, donuts, juices and milk and a hot breakfast to order for a very reasonable cost. Get down for breakfast early as it does get busy later on. This was one of the few hotels that had a free pc area that we could printout boarding passes or search for other activity locations. The staff was very pleasant, always smiling and very helpful. Our family used the swimming pool as many others did throughout the day and evenings. The hotel was very clean, not only the inside but also the outside grounds.

“Great people and great place to stay”

The Hyatt Place Busch Gardens is a great place to stay for singles, couples, or families. It is within sight of Busch Gardens and there is a free shuttle bus from the hotel to Busch Gardens. Continental breakfast was included and was excellent - various fruits, yogurt, cold cereals, bagels/muffins/toast, hot oatmeal or hot gravy with biscuits, three juices, milk, Starbucks coffee, tea, free newspaper - wow! What more do you need? Two computers and printer were available for quick access to airline and other info, and printing of coupons, tickets, etc. The staff was excellent - very helpful for anything and everything. All were friendly. Some were exceptional. All seemed to feel that they were part of making us feel welcome rather than just working there. One of the housekeeping staff treated guests as if he was the host. He had the greatest smile, the warmest greeting, and offered to help guests with their bags. Amazing! I haven't seen that kind of sevice from housekeeping anywhere before. The pool was not crowded. The exercise room met our needs. Lots of safe parking. We got to know staff by name and they remembered us from our previous encounters. There was a nice little restaurant within 100 yards if you wanted to eat off site. Bank, 24 hour pharmacy, grocery store, mall and lots of other food places close by. Everything you need. Great job Hyatt!

“Our Stay at the Hyatt Tampa”

Nice hotel with very pleasant and helpful staff. Huge room with large tv, couch and fridge but no microwave. The only thing I wasn't happy about was leaving my room at 8:45 in the morning (on their shuttle so they knew we were gone) and returning at 4:30 to find our room not cleaned. I had an infant with me to feed and bathe so I sat there feeding him while housekeeping came in and did a quick job. My room was prepaid but when I went to pay at checkout time for a glass of milk for the baby's bottle ($2.15) they waived that charge for all my troubles.

“our stay”

The room was very comfortable however the side we were staying on closer to the road had alot of road traffic during the night. Excellent breakfast buffet and staff were friendly and helpful. Would have been nice to have free coffee 24hrs. Overall all, we would stay here again.

“Don't Stay Here”

The hotel was filthy. Main lobby was ok but hallways were not clean and rooms. First room we had we found a hair elastic with lots of hair on it in the sheets beside the pillow so we asked for another room. Staff was very embarrassed and did their best to make things better. Only 1 other room available that night which had a king bed and a pull out sofa - not the 2 beds we had booked and paid for. We took this room for the night with the promise that we would be moved to a room with 2 beds for the 2nd night. When we moved to the new room, we though it was slightly better than the first until we saw the gob of hardened, chewed gum in the corner beside the bed. Because we had pre-paid, we were kind of stuck with this hotel. We decided to stay put in the same room for the 2nd night because we were afraid of what else we might encounter. It appeared this room was intended as a handicap room, but with the layout, there would be no way for someone in a wheelchair to be able to manouever into the bathroom. The bathroom had a strange smell; the carpet in the room was filthy (bottoms of feet were black from walking across the room - even after just showering); could not turn on the fan for the air conditioning because it blew black dust particles (probably why the carpet was so dirty). The only bright spot in the hotel was the front desk and shuttle staff who were very friendly and did their best with what they had to work with. This was our first and last visit to a Hyatt.
