Only a room with a view, nothing else.
This is a room with a view (admittedly very nice) and not much more. No breakfast was available and the wifi didn't work when I arrived. They wanted to be paid in cash up front, but I said I wouldn't pay until the wifi was working. Also, the bed had a big lump in the middle. However, it was clean and the shower worked well. The fridge leaked occasionally. Parking is very difficult and expensive in that area.

I would first like to say that Isabella was very nice to me. She was the woman who greeted me after I sat around on the curb after 30 minutes. I didn’t understand that this was not a hotel but actually just an apartment. The apartment was pretty but sadly, nothing worked except for the view of the sea. In the night, there was no light to shine on you as you figured out which key let you inside. I tripped going up the stairs in the dark and nearly tumbled down because I couldn’t see anything. The air conditioner had some type of lock on it so you couldn’t make the unbearably hot room any cooler. I laid in bed trying to sleep but at 3:50 am i woke up and called a nice hotel down the way to see if they had a room for me. They took me in for less money...everything in their hotel worked, including their adjustable air conditioning. The refrigerator at the apartment also didn’t seem to work. There was no water to drink, no soap or shampoo or conditioner either. I didn’t think to look for these things until I realized they weren’t provided. The televisión also didn’t come on and there was no wif password. I believe they advertised breakfast but if that is true, it was not provided for. I tried to call them before I left to at least have the second night refunded (I stupidly paid in cash for both nights) but it’s 12:34 noon and still have not heard from them. I wouldn’t recommend this place for those reasons but also because it would be dangerous for a child. The railing is loose.

Not all good in Syracuse
The history of Syracuse is extraordinary. Ortigia is a wonderful area of town, full of great areas to explore. We had difficulty making contact with the owner, and ended up having to stay the first night at another accommodation. There is no one on site except at certain times of the day, so it was very difficult to arrive and get in. The breakfast was at a local cafe nearby, in a beautiful position opposite the Duomo, but it was closed on our last morning!

Arrival was horrendous. We arrived in Siracusa at about 13.00 and rang the contact/owner. He said he would not be available until 16.00 and suggested we take a long lunch. We turned up at the room at 16.00 but he did not turn up until 16.25 after repeated telephone calls. Tried to offer us an awful room which bore no resemblance to that advertised/booked. Eventually agreed to re-room us in a slightly better room. Much of that advertised (internet.TV etc) did not work. Met another English couple who had moved room twice due to problems. Having said that building was very conveniently place between the port and the Piazza Duomo.

My host went beyond the call of duty to assure my comfort, even providing a beer in the room's refrigerator on arrival and driving me personally to the bus station on departure. The view from the balcony overlooking the harbour was magnificent. As the B & B was within a minute or two of central piazzas in this beautiful, interesting city, rather than serve breakfast, the host chose to reimburse me for all expenses incurred at any cafe of my choice for breakfast each morning. Highest rating!!

Really nice B & B, the rooms are spacious, views are amazing and Gianluca makes you feel very welcomed. located right where the action is, but on a quite street. Really enjoyed our stay.
