Great location!
What a great property! This property was beyond what we have experienced in past rentals. Definitely a home away from home. The decor was also charming. Loved it!

Wow!
A perfectly located gem of a home on the harbour. Immaculate and professionally decorated, this home away from home felt exactly like home to us. The fully outfitted kitchen included water bottles in the fridge, coffee, a nice assortment of teas (much appreciated), sugar and a great little welcome basket of snacks. The beds were comfortable and the linens were good quality. The bathrooms were fully stocked with supplies and an abundance of good towels. Location was perfect for walking downtown for restaurants and a trail leading up to Signal hill is a short walk from the house. Thanks for a truly great stay for 2 couples from away.

Great spot to get ready in for a wedding
I stayed here the night before my wedding with my bridesmaids and the night of my wedding with my now husband. This house is BEAUTIFUL. It is spacious and welcoming. I had 8 girls get ready with hair and make up the morning of the wedding and it was a little chaotic but we had enough room to function. Parking was the biggest issue, but we made it work and it was worth it those harbour views!

The perfect spot
Our stay at the Salt & Battery was our fifth of a two-week holiday in Newfoundland and it was the best. In fact, the S&B is the nicest rental I have ever stayed in, in any location. The unit was so beautifully decorated that it both inspired me and made me wonder how anyone could have put so much effort into such a stunning decor. Very comfortable, perfectly located, and the owners have thought of everything for travellers. We loved every minute of our two-night stay. Incredibly comfortable beds, with top-notch linens, a fully outfitted kitchen with nice touches like decaf Keurig and cold bottled water. The location is incredibly quiet and the view is hard to beat. The parking is a little challenging—but a local very kindly offered to turn out car around for us, so it worked out fine. I can't recommend this rental too highly. 10+/10!

We spent 9 days in this cozy, bright, and relaxing space. I can't say enough good about the house, the check-in process, all the small details and literally everything you could think of that you might need for your stay. Would highly recommend Salt and Battery to anyone and we will be staying here in the future. What a great spot

This property was perfect for walking to all of the attractions that St. John’s has to offer….the proximity to the harbour provides a beautiful view and lots of activity surrounding the ships in port…..staying in a house at the base of Signal Hill was a treat….the house is just as it appears in the photos and the hosts were attentive to all of our needs.

Fantastic Vacation Rental
We loved our 10 night stay in St John’s and It was due largely to having a fantastic rental house to come home to every night! This upside down home gives you a beautiful view of the ship harbour and with its bright siding we could spot it from many locations in St. John’s . This home is decorated so beautifully and loaded with all the special touches in every room, comfy beds, beautiful linen ‘s and towels. The kitchen is a cooks dream if you want to cook on vacation every little touch has been thought of ! This has certainly been the best rental we have ever stayed in. Perfectly location on a quiet street close to Signal Hill and minutes to downtown and the highway. We had a great time !

Best Vrbo ever!
This place was the best Vrbo we have ever stayed at. The view of the harbour, the location relative to downtown, Signal Hill, and so much more was perfect. Everything you could possibly need was included and totally organized. We LOVED our stay in The Salt and Battery! Highly recommend!!

great stay but no parking and no easy access for cars coming and going. Bedrooms in the basement with one having the air circulation on all the time. no TV channels for the news or sports.

Hello Dermott, thank you for your comments but we have to admit that we are a little puzzled by them. In your private message to us you said that the house was fabulous. Firstly, we have 3 functional TVs with satellite that have over 200 channels. I can assure you that we have news and sports available. Perhaps you were on a wrong TV setting. Instructions to work the TVs were on ottoman in the living room. Secondly, none of the bedrooms are in a basement as this house does not have one. Both the bedrooms are on the main floor. I am also confused about your comment about the air circulating all the time. There is no furnace/air conditioning unit in the home. We only have electric baseboard heating. We have had more than 300 people stay in the house in the last 3 years and we never had anyone complain about parking or the size of the house which is 1200 sqft. I am not sure how much room 4 people need? You could of contacted us any time and we would of fixed the TVs for you if there was a problem. All the best, Paul & Tracey Tomlinson

Perfect Location in St John’s
My wife and I just spent three nights at this property and it was hands down one of the best ones we have ever used. It was a great location for boat watching in the busy St. John’s harbour as well as for quickly jumping onto the Signal Hill hiking trails. The place was completely stocked with everything you would need and was very clean and nicely set up. Thanks for a great stay and would hope to return in the future.

We’ve never stayed at a cleaner nor better equipped and decorated place than salt & battery! The location was perfect for downtown access and scenic hill trails - with beautiful views of the St John’s harbour. Every detail of a comfortable stay is looked after - and Tracey was great to deal with. Highly recommend!!

Wonderful stay at an incredibly charming and well-located place!
It's very simple : the Salt and Battery house has everything you need!.The minute you walk in, you feel at home. The colourful house is minutes away by foot from downtown. There is a small and lovely on the corner where there are a delicious coffee. You can also walk directly up to Signal Hill from the house. The neighbourhood is charming, and the view on the port from the house's deck is beautiful. We loved absolutely everything at Salt and Battery. We felt that the owners did everything for the guests to feel comfortable : they provided guides to the city, guides to the hikes in Newfoundland, everything you can need in the kitchen and the bathroom, and the beds are very comfortable. I recommended Salt and Battery to everyone! Already looking forward to book another stay there!

Un coin de paradis!
Nous avons eu un très beau séjour dans ce magnifique appartement confortable et fonctionnel. La vue sur le port est magnifique et nous olonge dans une belle ambiance. Les hôtes ont aussi laissé à notre disposition une foule d'équipements et darticles alimentaires ( huile, epices, etc.), ce qui a permis dutiliser la cuisine sans avoir à acheter plein de choses qu'il aurait fallu laisser derrière nous. Les propriétaires etaient sympathiques acceuillants, s'assurant que tout soit en ordre à notre arrivée. Un parc pour bébé et une chaise hautont aussi étaient mis à notre disposition. Bref, un sejour parfait dans un lieu parfait!
