This place is beautiful and right on the water! (Memorial Day weekend) However the pool was closed because the state said the Inn had to fix a crack in the pavement. One of the only reasons I booked this place was because of the pool. Gates around property were closed for some reason. Breakfast is literally Pastries. So much bread! And we happend to stay the one night a year that the MAYFLIES were out and it was horrible! These bugs were EVERYWHERE! I know its not the INNs fault but definitely took away from our experience. I want to give this place an amazing review but it just fell short of my expectations. Maybe we would try again in the future!

This was our third stay at this property. The location is unique being right on the St. Clair River, the rooms and ground are very well maintained, the staff was kind and helpful. Highly recommended for a peaceful and quiet getaway.

This historic inn has been beautifully restored. The rooms are a little small but comfortable with outstanding views. Pay the extra for a balcony and watch the huge freighters pass. Cori was wonderful at check-in. Very friendly and accommodating when I wanted to upgrade to a balcony room. Make sure to go on a day that the restaurant is open. We will be back for our Anniversary in August.

Being able to sit along the river and watch freighter traffic from our room patio, the restaurant and which was excellent in both the food, service and selection of craft beers. The furnishings in the rooms were top notch. Can't say enough can't wait to return.

Corie who was working the front desk was wonderful! Got a $20 restaurant credit. Had Shrimp Alfredo and Spin/Artichoke Dip and both were wonderful. Room was immaculate. This is our second stay and we will be back!

A very quaint Old English style in. The facility is very clean, and comfortable. Dining in the restaurant was fantastic. Our meal was delicious. The room is comfortable with picturesque views of the St Clair river.

The old charm of this refurbished older hotel really still comes through. The staff were great and are always very personable. The views of the river and frieghters is an amazing bonus.

The room we stayed in was so quiet, Room was great, Bathroom looked beautiful, Tile work in shower looked like a preschool class did the work, jagged tiles, holes in grout. First night was excellent. 2nd day we celebrated St. Patty day early. came back to room at 11pm room was 85 degrees we were dying. we had to move all our bags to another room. No fun after celebrating all day. new room was water view. smaller no king size bed killed the vibe was just pissed.

I really enjoyed my stay at this historic gem! Staff was very friendly and my room was very clean and quiet! I had a beautiful view of the river! from my cozy, remodeled room! Loved that the shopping and dining was in walking distance, as well! I will definitely be back!

The St. Clair Inn epitomizes elegance and comfort, offering guests a luxurious stay with a touch of historical charm. From the moment you step into the grand lobby, you’re enveloped in an ambiance that speaks of a bygone era, yet with all the modern amenities at your fingertips. The rooms are a testament to the inn’s commitment to guest satisfaction, with each space thoughtfully designed to be both inviting and functional. The beds are ok to sleep in, and the attention to detail in the decor is apparent. My only complaint was the room temperature being an unusually high 77 degrees upon arrival late in the evening. This was a slight inconvenience and it took 45 minutes to a hour for the temperature to come down to an acceptable level. I was hoping to get right to sleep but was delayed in getting a comfortable and restful night’s sleep. In summary, the St. Clair Inn is a jewel in the city, providing an experience that is rich in comfort and steeped in history. The minor issue with temperature control does little to mar the overall excellence that the inn delivers to its guests.

The property is beautiful and has a great sports bar with good food. It also has a speak easy which is a really nice place to hang out and have drinks in the evening. I would highly recommend this place for a romantic getaway!

I love 💗 the St. Clair Inn and this was the first time I stayed there since the new renovations. It’s a beautiful place. They just need to work out the issues with the heating in the rooms. The staff is amazing and a special “Thank you” to David at the front desk!

Easily the biggest bang for your buck I’ve had on my 10 day road trip by far. It’s off season in Michigan , but still a very relaxing building. The halls smell of freshly cut wood. The rooms yet small offer modern amenities like dual shower heads, working Wi-Fi and large flat screen wall mounted tv’s. The staff is very kind and professional.
