Staff is very helpful. Old town is close and so are a couple of beaches. They are both walkable if you like a challenge for walking. I recommend driving or taking Uber. Lots of parking in both areas.

Because of its location on Marjan Hill, it can be a little difficult to find without GPS. We left our car parked and walked up and down to the Riva. If you aren't in reasonably good shape, you might find this to be a problem. But, once you get there, you will find a marvelous hotel. Clean, well run, wonderful staff, good bar, nice swimming pool (and I'm not much for swimming). The breakfast buffet is good and you can tell they take pride in their work. The layout of the hotel is a bit quirky in a fun kind of way and you might wonder how you can get so lost in such a small place (but that was part of the fun.) For independent travelers, this is a real find and, the next time I head to Split, I would definitely check their availability.

When you first pull up to the property, it’s next to a building that is being renovated so it looks a little not so nice. However, the second you walk in that all changes, the staff is second to none. The room was beautiful spacious and wonderful. The breakfast was fantastic the gym facilities, and fantastic all in all I would stay here again fantastic hotel, fantastic people working there super helpful. That was the best part. Visited in October and we were extremely lucky with the weather for our whole visit to split. The hotel more than met our requirements and expectations. The hotel was very clean, room very comfortable & bathroom modern & fresh. Breakfast every morning was good & staff were very friendly and helpful. The pool area was very quiet & relaxing however doesn’t get the sun all day due to its location in between the buildings. If we had one minor issue, it was that the pool was extremely cold however you just had to take the plunge and embrace it at the time. Hotel has a nice walk into split old town. It is a steep hill & takes about 20 mins. It is enjoyable on the walk into town however we opted to get an Uber on a few occasions back to the hotel to avoid walking up the steep hill. Ubers were very reasonable & we were advised to avoid flagging down taxis as there are drivers who may try to rip off tourists. Overall a great experience and would consider staying here again if the price was still competitive with other high rated hotels in split.

A Hidden Gem
Staying at this hotel was a pleasant way to end our month-long adventure in Croatia. Located in a residential area and decorated in a retro style, we appreciated the cozy, boutique feel. Situated on a hillside, our room had a balcony that overlooked the Adriatic and offered a great view. A short walk down hill took us to the promenade to walk to a large city park or along the harbor to the old town area. Accessible to all the “action” by foot or Uber….And the shower was terrific! Great service, too.

Okay
Pros - The view from the room ( sea view balcony ), really comfy bed, pool & decent breakfast. Cons - No atmosphere at all, location ( which we knew was 20 min walk from centre) and mini bar prices were a joke. No shops nearby. Spa area was average at best and quite old fashioned.

Great hotel in Split, close to downtown
Simon and his team at the front desk are first class! My wife and i were very impressed. Their friendliness and customer focused care were very much appreciated. This hotel is also walking distance (1.7 km or just over a mile) to the Riva as well as a gorgeous beach where the waters are crystal clear and cool for a good swil after a walk. Thank you and we highly recommend this hotel.

Lovely hotel.
Great hotel. Staff very friendly and efficient. One negative was the choices of cut fruit for breakfast which could have been improved. The melon was often hard . Our 4th floor room was very spacious with a large balcony. It did have a sun shade stand but when I asked for a shade was told they didn't have any ! The hotel is a good 25 /30 min walk up hill from the centre, so be aware of that , if mobility is an issue. Taxis not cheap for the short distance from the centre. Hotel restaurant isn't open for evening meals so have to venture down the hill for dinner.

Pool was the best part. Drinks lunch and breakfast were good too. The surrounding hotels were not occupied but once they are the area will look better. The carpet in the rooms should be renovated. We walked into town and back. Bed and bath were clean and comfortable.

An oasis of calm
A lovely hotel away from the centre which was only a 15 minute walk away The staff were friendly and helpful. Our room was spotless and we had a balcony with a sea view. Loved the 'Rituals' toiletries Both the pool areas were clean and never too busy. You could order and eat from a pool menu during the day. Breakfast was plentiful and varied Overall a lovely break which was much needed

Just superb!
Beautiful hotel, thank you for the excellent stay! Booked in for a few nights before joining my friends on a sailing charter. I wanted somewhere peaceful and calm and Cvita lived up to that. It’s a bit further out of town, about a 20-30 minute walk to the old town, but if you are in need of some peace and quiet with great facilities then look no further. Incredibly comfy bed, great pool and even better staff. Thank you for the wonderful stay

I stayed here for 5 nights with my teenaged son. Positives were that the room was spotless and spacious. Staff were ok but not exactly forthcoming. Both indoor and outdoor pools are tiny. The indoor pool was freezing and I never saw anyone in it. In fact the whole ‘spa’ section of the hotel was basically non existent and never used as far I was aware. The gym was a tiny room with very limited equipment- I have more in my garage back home. This was disappointing as it was one of the main reasons that we chose the hotel. Breakfast was fine but very basic. The hotel is in a nice quiet location surrounded by pine trees. However it is a challenging 25min walk out of town and up a very steep hill. Taxis are expensive. The hotel and its facilities looked much better on the website and on the whole we were pretty disappointed with the accommodation. A shame because Split is a wonderful town to visit.

Nice hotel, be prepared to walk up /down the hill
Well appointed hotel overlooking the sea. Equipped with two pools (one in-door) and a gym. Only gripe would be the lack of block-out curtains...gets very light early and the curtains do little to darken thevroom.

Numerous problems. Instead of king bed, room was 2 single beds pushed together. Frames didn’t fit together so they just wedged a bit of foam between the beds. When asked they said that is usual. Refused to move us, no rooms. Looked on website still had rooms available. Requested full refund so moved us to king bed but down graded room. Sitting around pool in shade having a drink when a larger group of Croatian young people arrived staff then had us move into the sun to accommodate them. We then left the pool area. Not very customer focused, is out of town area, no tourist facilities around and for the price much better options closer to old town Split. Never again.

Dear Keith,we waited some time, trying to pack the truth so it doesn't sound too rough to our customers. In your review, the only truth is that your double room was with 2 single beds pushed together (in this type of room we have rooms that can be both, double and twin, and that is usual). After your asking- the next morning on your demand we put you in a room with a double bed- the same type of room, a Deluxe double with balcony and sea view. You didn't ask for a full refund because we would gladly give it to you but you needed this place because you were here guest at the wedding. We sincerely hope that you are now home, at your own peace because your own words were that nothing was good during your trip across all Italy and later Dubrovnik and Split in Croatia, and with your own eyes you couldn't see any beauty and that is for this visited places is such a pity. We wish you all best,

Hôtel Cvita is very quiet, so great to rest. The pool area is nice. The decor is a bit dated. The breakfast was very good. The staff was friendly. My rating is mostly due to the fact that after waiting 15 minutes at check in for a room with a double bed, we were given one with two singles and the room has view of a wall. When I checked out, I was told that we were meant to be in a different room with a double bed and a view but got the wrong key.

The hotel staff were incredibly helpful and friendly and were very attentive to our needs. It's conveniently located halfway between the Old Town and the beaches. Would highly recommend this hotel.

The hotel is good, staff friendly, breakfast good, pool excellent. However the hotel is very hard to find. It is among apartment buildings and the hotel sign is on the side covered by trees from the street. You have to go to apartments parking lots to find it. We had to ask a jogger from the area where the hotel is. GPS brings you only to the bottom of the street, you have to go up 2 hills. Once you find it, the hotel itself is a good hotel.

Relatively new hotel, but style is more plush and old world. It works reasonably well. Breakfasts very enjoyable. Pool and facilities in very good condition. Its not directly in the centre of Split so its a touch quieter. The tradeoff is a good 15-20 min walk to get there! Key recommendation - Uber and cycle or walk. Taxis are numbingly expensive!
