Brattleboro is a nice small town and north of the hotel are perhaps the loveliest small towns in Vermont, with Putney being our favorite! Relaxed, good food and very nice people cap off the beautiful and largely undisturbed back country roads as well as an awesome Coop and country store."

"I stay at a lot of hotels. Here are just a few things I like about Black Mountain Inn. 1.- There's a side table on each side of the bed, convenient for CPAPs. 2.- There are open electrical outlets for our use. 3.- They provide bar soap, and the soap is not white, so I can find it when I drop it in the water. 4.- The chairs outside each room are comfortable and -- thanks to upstairs balcony -- dry ... even when it's been raining. 5.- Extremely friendly and helpful front desk staff. "

"This is the third time we have stayed at the black bear lodge in Stratton and every time we stay our experience is the same.. excellent. The staff are all so nice and accommodating, the property is clean and the breakfast is perfect. The rooms are comfortable and clean, it really is the perfect place to stay in Vermont. "There was only one person able to check in people when we arrived before the big eclipse; it took over an hour to check in. We were told a worker was sick, but it was disappointing that there was not another staff member able to independently check in people. The hotel did make it up to us when we asked, but it was an unwelcome experience."
