Attend a concert at one of three halls in this impressive music venue, which has hosted some of the biggest names to come to Sheffield.

Overlooking the spacious plaza of Barker’s Pool, the Sheffield City Hall is a majestic venue for concerts and other types of events. It is recognizable by its columned portico and neoclassical design. Many famous bands have appeared at the venue’s three main halls, including The Beatles, Jimi Hendrix and the Rolling Stones.

Go to a concert, stand-up comedy event or artistic performance at this venue. The largest of the auditoriums is the Irwin Mitchell Oval Hall, which has a seating capacity of 2,271 and an impressive stained-glass ceiling. Esteemed comedians, magicians and musical giants such as Led Zeppelin and Ryan Adams have performed on this stage.

Attend a smaller act in the more intimate setting of the Memorial Hall. It seats 430 people in its stalls and balcony. Make sure to see the exquisite Grand Ballroom, which has an art deco design. It is ideal for exhibits, banquets, ceremonies, presentations and conferences.

Arrive for an evening show and capture photos of the façade’s columns glowing brightly with atmospheric lighting. Enjoy a pre-show meal at the venue’s restaurant, which serves a three-course menu and has an extensive bar.

Purchase tickets for a show at the Box Office, which is open between morning and late afternoon from Monday to Saturday.

The Sheffield City Hall is in the northwestern part of the city center. Arrive at Sheffield Train Station and walk northwest for 15 minutes to reach the venue. It is close to many of the municipality’s highlights, including Sheffield Town Hall, Peace Gardens and the Millennium Gallery.
