An unpleasant smell in toilet ,excellent breakfast ,clean big room with comfortable double bed and a not so warm réception!Overall a good impression of our stay in this hotel.Only some details to improve!

Looked forward to "French cuisine": Horrible quality at the Brasserie. Dinner: Steak uneatable/unchewable even after 2nd try. Breakfast: Uncooked bacon and scrambled eggs like porridge swimming in water.... (How do you kill an egg...?) Room/hotel: A bit tired, but ok. No kettle, no fridge. Parking: VERY secure and spacious parking. Pool: Ok, but shower b4 getting into the pool did not work. Ps: I travel a lot, retired now from a Quality Mgr for large travel chain (part of Expedia) - and this is the 1st BAD review I'm making...
Some fo the steak tried to chewed, and spat out again. And I'm not really fussy.... Sent back and got a new one, eqully bad...:(

Some might like scrabled eggs like soup/porridge - I don't...

This is not Novotel standard
This is not the usual Novotel standard - the manager was too busy on his laptop to notice we had arrived and then we had to stand and wait until he was finished (the reception) is a table in the middle of the dining room…our food order was wrong and not very good….

Unwelcoming and worn down hotel
A very arrogant and unwelcoming check in. Impossible to locate check in staff, was shown to a person looked like another guest working on his laptop, who only replied with a “qui”??? Really the worst service I’ve received on any hotel for a long time! Also a very worn down hotel, which in my opinion doesn’t match what was promised.

We arrived at the property after driving the whole day 800km, we arrived with 2 young kids (3yo and 1yo). The lady at the reception was very friendly and knew we had a long journey. She explained me everything and informed me about all the possible options (amenities, dinner and activities). I take the card and go for the room, at the end of the a veeeeery long corridor, as I saw that they had many guests I can understand that we have the last available room (I booked the day before). We could not enter the room because the card was not working, back for a long walk to the reception leaving my wife with the kids. They update the card and finally we can open the door to discover that the room is laready occupied, there was inside the room, a stroller, some clothes and food, so apparently a family was already occupying the room. Back again to the reception to explain the situation. The lady at the reception apologized but not really in a customer/traveler service way. She gave us immediately a new room, on the first floor in a property with no lift. So We are with 2 exhausted kids, a stroller, luggage and a stair to climb with all this, this was not really a good experience. Plus : The property looks nice, it's really a property family friendly and there was a lot of families with kids so we felt comfortable. I would not recommend the place for singles or couples without kids as there is almost only family with kids and tourist groups so it can really noisy in the common areas

Good hotel
Difficult to find the reception... otherwise staff friendly. Nice garden with swimming pool. Safe parking.

Overall atmosphere of the hotel is good, there is a pool, nice area for kids and a playground, the rooms however are not up to Novotel standards and would be more appropriate to be ranked as 3-star hotel. The only exception in the room is the 50" LCD television

Social distancing difficult to respect while the hotel keeps on providing continental breakfast buffet as usual without specific measures except hand gel. Most of the hotel recently visited had adapted their breakfast offer: individual packages, thus with a limited offering, but with consideration of social distancing.

Nice hotel with plenty of parking. Room was exactly what I’d expect from a Novotel - light, airy and spacious. Had dinner sat outside - good menu and great food. I’d definitely return here.

Novotel Mulhouse Bale Fribourg Review
Convenient location if you're heading back on the freeway. The restaurant was surprisingly very good and the service was great. The hotel is pretty basic as expected from a Novotel but we had no concerns and the staff was pleasant.

The Room was as expected from a Novotel, was basic, clean and neat - perfect for a nights stay. We were out of town and had been driving all day so decided to stay at Novotel for dinner, the food was appalling!

Great breakfast buffet!
Great hotel for a pass through. I pre-purchased the breakfast option and am so glad I did. I am from the US and the majority of breakfast buffets there are horrible and not worth eating even if free. This Novotel was amazing and I am not kiddding when I say I would go there simply for the breakfast. It is rated as a 4 star and I think ratings are different over here perhaps. In US it is a very good 3 star...very clean room with fantastic service but on the small side. Hope that helps

Expensive for an average hotel outside of town in an industrial estate. Rooms tired, restaurant choice limited. About 50% more than I would expect to pay for a basic but adequate hotel. However the nearby Cite De L'Automobile is fantastic.

I had an issue of the staff serving the wrong drink at the bar and then trying to charge me for it. Promises to take the charge of my bill were made but it was still there on the bill when I checked out. I equally I asked about restaurants in the area and the staff would only promote the hotel restaurant. Overall hotel facilities are nice, staff are not helpful... Shame.

Very disappointing
We have stayed at many Novotel hotels in the past as a family of 4 and this hotel is much the same as the rest except that the air con did not appear to be working in the hotel rooms (I heard several guests complain about this). The main reason for the rating was due to the receptionist, I had booked (as I always ) do a double room with sofa bed but had only keyed 2 adults when booking, I have since discovered the price for the room is the same for 2 adults as it is for a family of 4. As the booking only said 2 adults I had to pay for a second room and there was no flexibility/discretion used to allow us to pull out the sofa bed for our 2 children to use, consequently the overnight stay cost us double what it should have done. It is worth noting that the hotel allows pets so not good if you suffer with allergies and don't like eating your breakfast with dogs on the table next to you! As a comparison we stayed the following night in a hotel in Milan with 2 interconnecting rooms which was far superior and half the cost of this hotel.

Polite and friendly staff, front desk, restaurant, breakfast and bar are all much customer satisfaction focused. Quiet place to stay and huge supermarket nearby. Rooms are clean and quiet. Will return there for sure!

Good hotel, smart and lovely pool though a hair dryer and proper mugs (or even paper cups) would have been so much better without much extra expense. Trying to drink coffee out of plastic cups was a nightmare.

Comfortable Hotel
My only complaint is that we stayed here on out way back from our holidays and when we came down to breakfast it was obvious that a coach party had already had there breakfast and the amount of choice of food was very limited as nothing had been replaced and we could only choose from what was left, rather disappointing.

Close to highways
I liked this hotel. Reasonable prices, near major highways so quick access to airport (for about 65 euro). There are some restaurants nearby (within 5 blocks) plus a major shopping center 7 blocks away. I was in the area for business and suited my needs quite well. Internet access was quite fast. Had a coffee/tea station. Would recommend for travellers or business people, maybe not the best location for tourists.

Good hotel
The hotel was an overnight stop on a drive from UK to Switzerland. The hotel was more than adequate for this requirement with big rooms, good service and clearly a recent update. As we arrived late and left early we could not comment on the local area.

Stop over to Italy
We booked as a stop over to Italy. The hotel is in an industrial area and condition is tired, it needs a refurbishment. The staff told us the AC was not available in the room as there was none yet there were controls for AC? We had an awful nights sleep due to extremely hot & uncomfortable conditions. This was meant to be relaxing after a long journey. Food was awful too. On check out I was told I hadn't paid yet I showed them my Hotel.com print out showing full payment had been taken when I booked! I will not be using this place again.

Stop Off Location
Stopped here on our way to Italy from UK. Location is close to the Motorway and easy to get to. Hotel is a bit tired - needs a makeover but room was clean and the staff was friendly. The restaurant was understaffed when we were there a 45min wait to get a salad even when plenty of tables so not sure what the deal is with that. We did not try the restaurant after that. Overall a good option for a stopover.

Holiday stop over with wife and 2 children
Very nice hotel, freindly and helpful staff, swimming pool very welcome in such hot weather. The pull out sofa beds were perfect for our 2 children and the room accomodated us well. The room service dinner we ordered was excellent. The breakfast buffet was extremely good. The hotel is just off the main highway and was very easy to find from the main road from Switzerland.
