Stay for 2 nights, only provide 2 nestle coffee pods. When asking extra, they said there are only 2 free for the 1st day and we have to purchase coffee at their restaurant. We travel around and this is the first time stay in a hotel without in room coffee. Request toilet paper but received bath towel instead.😅 But very good front desk and security guard👍

The property overall is well kept in the reception, hallway and other general areas. The room is spacious and comfortable except the bathroom where work definitely needs to be done. Air conditioning is quiet and efficient. The hotel is located next to the Santa Lucia subway station and a bus stop which makes getting around easy. However, the area outside the hotel is dirty and makes people uncomfortable.

My favourite part of this property was the location. Very centralized and walking distance to everything in my opinion. Areas for improvement: (1) the concierges always had an attitude that I appeared to be annoying them when asking for simple things (ie putting coffee on my tab, or recommendations, or when my room key stopped working). (2) the wait staff at the outdoor bar was very slow and it was more bar service than actually being served (3) when leaving in the morning, I requested a taxi. The concierge said that the taxi would ONLY accept cash, and it was $3000 pesos more than I paid coming from the airport. I felt scammed but due to my limited Spanish felt like I was in a bind. The concierge should have just called another taxi for me as I requested. I cannot said I’d recommend this hotel, given the subpar customer service.

I think for some from the US it could be a bit intimidating having to choose from a lot of local hotels not representing the chain brands where used to. Rest assured that this hotel is at least as good, if not better than in some ways, as any Hilton, Marriott, Windham, or Holiday Inn. Getting here from the airport was more expensive than it could have been. Had we contacted the hotel directly, we likely may have gotten the ride for 25k instead of the 40k our illegitimate "taxi charged us. The front desk was very helpful in arranging this for us when we checked out and headed to our next hotel. In general, hotel staff was very friendly and helpful with advice, almost always in fluent English, anytime we needed it. They provided local recommendations and even warnings about places to avoid when going out, especially at night. One staff member even called out to me as I walked out the door to let me know I'd forgotten my phone was in my back pocket. Further, he recommended places to go to get drinks in the area because those at the hotel were so expensive. Our room was perfectly positioned with a view of the National Library and the adjacent Santa Lucia Hill, both of which we easily reached from the hotel by walking. The room was clean and comfortable and included outlets that fit US style 110 volt plugs. There was a main light switch on the wall near the beds - I like this feature in hotels and it's becoming more common these days. Things were generally clean.

The most outstanding part of the hotel was the staff. The front desk staff, particularly Ingebord, were amazing. The staff helped us book two tours on ChileTours and they were excellent. We visited Valparaiso on one tour and the Concha y Toro winery on the other. The only problem we had was that the area is dangerous. Thieves attempted to rob my husband and I just steps from the hotel’s front door. I would recommend that you stay in the hotel, eat there (they have a restaurant and a bar), and leave only when you need to go on a tour or to the airport. Also, I would recommend asking the wonderful people at the front desk to get a taxi to the airport rather than getting an Uber. Uber means waiting outside the hotel for the car and that gives thieves an opportunity. We met our taxi driver in the lobby and were escorted to the secure basement where the taxi was parked. I would not go outside the hotel at all at night. But it feels perfectly safe in the hotel. There was a Santiago police office in the hotel at all times. Other than the security outside the hotel, we really enjoyed our stay at the Mercure. The staff were incredible. A big thank you to Ingebord.

I was really disappointed. The internet was absolutely awful, the room was dated, the gym was incredibly basic with old equipment and a single free weight option. When I rang reception from my room they were unhelpful, didn’t follow through on what I ask for and were really not interested in helping or listening to me properly. My experience at check in was however positive and Gustavo was a delight, as were the housekeeping team.

An almost-elegant hotel truly worth staying at. The staff were very helpful working around my limited Spanish and really seemed to care for my comfort. My room was spacious and had a fairly good view. The included breakfast was great, just short of excellent as it was sans pancakes, waffles or bacon. During my one dinner eaten here, there was a billing glitch that became unnecessarily uncomfortable and was found to have been an error/omission during check-in. I was given an apology and believed it to be sincere. This hotel is perfectly located for eateries, sight-seeing and metro stations. Should I revisit Santiago, I would gladly stay here again!

Great base to explore Santiago
I had a good experience at the Mercure. I thought the location very convenient - on a busy main road, but I couldn’t hear any road noise from the bedroom. It’s next to a metro station, and very walkable to many of the attractions downtown, so it was great place from which to see Santiago. Breakfast was mostly continental (with eggs and sausages as hot) but plentiful and tasty. The Reception staff were lovely and friendly.

We enjoyed our 1st visit to Santiago Chile
We enjoyed the Mercure Santiago Centro hotel. The hotel was very clean and the staff were very helpful and friendly. My wife especially enjoyed using the pool all three afternoons during our stay. The hotel staff also helped us with our questions about where to eat and shop and finding the nearby Hop On Hop Off bus stop. We highly recommend the Mercure and would stay here again.
