“Will definitely stay at the Chancellor again!”

With the help of Expedia, I got a great rate at a really nice hotel. The location is excellent - near BART, the cable car, shopping, and the bus lines. The room was clean and comfortable, the service was courteous. I'm glad I discovered this affordable gem.

“Cute hotel in a great location”

My husband and I stayed here when vacationing in San Francisco and were very pleased over all. The rooms were small, but very cute. The location was great and all the staff were very friendly and helpful. We would definitely consider staying here again.

“Great location, great value for money”

Our stay in May 2010 was our 3rd time at the Chancellor in 20 years and each time we have been very satisfied with the hotel. The location is just great and the cost far less than other hotels in the same area. We found the staff very helpful and loved the friendliness of the staff in the bar area and dining room, made our stay there like being at a friends place. The hotel had been renovated since our last visit and we liked what they had done with it, the only thing that we would miss if the weather had been warmer was air conditioning but would definitely stay there again!

“Excellent budget choice”

For the price, this hotel could not have been better. Room was spotless and comfortable even if a bit small. Staff were very friendly and attentive. This was a family trip for my 50th birthday and we had 3 rooms, and all of them were good. Right on Union Square across the street from a cable car stop, so an unbeatable location. Parking was available around the corner at a private lot, but the price was reasonable, and again, the valet service was quick and friendly. Room had free wireless internet which was a bit slow and dropped a lot, but it was good enough for checking email. It was much better in the lobby bar.

“Great location, comfy hotel!”

I loved this hotel and would definitely stay there again. it's in a great location on Powell Street, only a few blocks from the cable car turnaround, Close to Union Square for shopping and tram, trolleybus, train links. The room was quite small and no view but the bed was wonderfully comfy and the free fresh baked cookies and coffee everyday was fantastic!

“Great San Francisco Value”

This is great value with quality service, the staff could not be more helpful. Rooms are fairly basic but more than adequate, ask for softer pillow or room fridge and it is delivered promptly. Great location in central city for shops and transport. If we return to SF which we loved, it will be first on our list to stay at. Free computer access in Lobby or wireless. Room service even provides great lollies.

“San Francisco made easy and pleasant”

The hotel is in a very good location near to transportation, shopping and other amenities. It was very well appointed and clean. We did not require much service, as we were in San Francisco to visit family, but any time we ask for information or assistance everyone was very helpful. I would certainly stay there again.

“Small room but incredible deal and perfect location!”

First visit to San Francisco–wanted to do all the "touristy" sorts of things so this hotel was perfectly located. The staff was welcoming and prompt in the way they handled us. Had some issues with the wireless internet, but they explained it to be due to heavy traffic on the network because of a conference they were hosting. The room was, indeed, small, but we opted for the cheapest room and didn't expect much more. I was nervous about the lack of air conditioning (I can't sleep if it's hot at all) and I was just fine. It was great!
