The accommodation was spotlessly clean, comfortable and the kitchen was very well equipped. We would definitely consider staying here again if our travels take us back to Salt Spring. A car is necessary though, as it’s about a 10 minute drive to Ganges.

Comfortable, clean beautifully decorated condo in a quiet location with amazing view of water from balcony. Perfect for a ladies long weekend. Well appointed with everything we could have needed including good coffee and perfect selection of teas. Elena is a delightful host!

Bright and Clean
We had a great time staying at the apartment in Vesuvius. The check in process was very straightforward and the apartment has everything you need. The location is great and it gives easy access to explore the rest of the island. There was some noise from the ferry terminal construction work through the first night we stayed, which was quite loud but was, of course, no fault of the owner. All in all, I would love to return and spend more time here.

A relaxed mini stay on the island
Elena’s was a perfect place for my family and I to stay on the island. It was nice and spacious and very comfortable. The convenience of the ferry to our next destination was wonderful too. We look forward to staying for a longer period to fully utilize the kitchen and elements of her place next time!

The property was clean and comfortable with lots of room in the kitchen living room area. Furniture was modern and comfortable. Beds were very comfortable. Location in the middle of the island about 10 minutes drive from Ganges was ideal.

Perfect relaxing getaway
Lovely property away from the action of Ganges. Nice unit, property cared with everything you need for a relaxing getaway. Coffee and tea are provided and unit has most cooking utensils (pots/pans) you need to make a meal. There is also a bbq if you desire to do some grilling. Would definitely stay again.

A little bit of heaven on Salt Spring Island
Our place was perfect and super clean! There was lots of beautiful light from all the windows with a nice view of the ocean and a great patio to sit out on. It is as very quiet and peaceful here. We were within walking distance of one of the best beaches on the island…with calm, warm ocean water to paddle board or kayak on. There’s a great seafood restaurant with a patio over the water… just a 4 minute walk up the street. Everything is within a small easy to do distance on this island but our condo location was removed enough from the main town of Ganges etc. that we still felt very secluded and out in nature. Our contact person was always available to answer questions and was very good about giving us updates. We would definitely stay here again and of course we love Salt Spring Island and will return again…as has been our custom for many years.

Quiet & Spacious
I was surprised at just how large this condo was. And quiet. Despite it being a long weekend the ferry traffic did not cause any problems accessing the property. Although we did not take advantage of the easy access to Vancouver Island it certainly was a plus. The suite itself was well supplied, very clean, and despite the heat stayed fairly cool. It was nice to have a fan. Also a real bonus to have 2 bathrooms and washer and dryer. Communication with the host was excellent. Thank you Elena.

This property is much better than pictures. Neighbor were so friendly. The place even had soap and shampoo in the showers. Great ocean view close to everything on the island . We really enjoyed this place very homey.

Everything you need for a superb stay
We really enjoyed our 9 day stay at the Vesuvius Condo. We have stayed previously at other condos in the Vesuvius complex, so we already knew that the layout and location were superb. This condo had everything you would need in the kitchen to prepare meals along with a BBQ that worked very well and was super clean. A Brita water filter container in the refrigerator was a pleasant surprise. The bedrooms had ceiling fans which helped on the warm nights along with fully screened windows, which not all places have. The beds were very comfortable and the bedding sheets and pillows were first rate, which is highly unusual for short term rentals in this price range. Also, having a washing machine and dryer really helps when you are staying over a week. Both machines were very clean and efficient. The views of the water were always nice, especially while eating meals on the patio. Strolling around the neighborhood and to the ferry docks after dinner was always pleasant for us. The Vesuvius property itself has not been up kept as nicely as in the past, but I hear there is a change in property management, so hopefully that will change. Our communication with the owner of the condo Elena was very prompt and informative. She cares deeply about her condo and it shows in how it is maintained.

A Perfect Stay on Salt Spring
Elena's condo is clean, comfortable and convenient. If you're looking for a place to explore Salt Spring from, then this condo is your best option. And the view is beautiful as well!

The villa was perfect! We enjoyed the quiet seclusion we felt as we looked at the water view. Although Vesuvius is further away from the main town of Ganges, there are some enjoyable beach and trail hikes close by, even a good dinner restaurant - Seaside. We had everything we needed in the kitchen for eating breakfast before beginning our explorations of the island. We also recommend the Tree House Cafe and Moby’s Pub for interesting dining.

Awesome Retreat
Elena's space was an awesome retreat following a "tourist's" visit to the Ganges area The distance to the activity of the island - it's beautiful shops, wonderful food and inspiring art galleries - was just right. Elena is wonderful with giving detailed explanations and expectations for the homestay so there are no unexpected surprises, I definitely hope to return!

Amazing Stay
Beautiful view from front balcony. Elena was kind and great to deal with. Location was quiet with an amazing beach a block away. The only thing missing was Air Conditioning. All in all, a great stay.

Great stay at Salt Spring
We (2 couples) had a great stay at Elena’s place. The apartment unit was well maintained and clean. The kitchen was fully equipped and we were able to make breakfast with ease. The beds were comfortable and the linens and washroom were clean and in good condition. We especially enjoyed the patio as it over looks the water so it was a nice place for us to hang out. Communication before arrival was also clear and succinct . Check in was a breeze! Great long weekend stay overall!

Great location and beautiful view but…
A great place close from the Ferry to Crofton on Vancouver Island. We did not have any problems with accessing the property or with communicating with the host as Elena was prompt and responsive. Also, the place was clean and organized. That being said, we encountered few issues at the property, mainly the internet. We had a very slow internet connection on the first couple hours of checking-in, after that the internet was completely unusable. I had a back and forth conversation with Elena, but her requests of me having to be present at the time of her coming to try and fix it were unreasonable as we were on a short stay for vacation. Additionally, we had extremely limited supplier (only salt and pepper). Finally, we were provided with only two blankets and we hoped there was at least an extra blanket. This property’s price is reasonable if you’re willing to do over 50% of the cleaning before checking-out, which is a reasonable bargain.

This guest took advantage of the contactless check in to bring six people into the unit, whereas the reservation was made only for four people. Under these circumstances, when there are additional undeclared guests staying, the number of blankets and the amount of laundry detergent may end up insufficient. A truthful communication with me in advance detailing the number of guests expected, would have prevented these issues. With regards to kitchen supplies, these are as described in the listing (coffee, tea, salt, pepper). We do not supply cooking oil or spices/condiments. Finally, I made the best possible effort to look into the internet troubles reported, but unfortunately the guest was unable to find a time to meet me in the unit so I can assess the connectivity situation. I do not have tech support to assess these issues remotely and I do not enter the unit with guests checked in, unless the guest is on site.

Lovely Unit
This unit was lovely, clean and quiet. I've stay here before in another unit which also worked out well. It's a bit of drive to town but I love the quaintness of this part of the island and it's very convenient to the Crofton ferry crossing which is great. The manager was very accommodating with our schedule and worked with us to so that we could arrive at our family event on time. I would stay again.

Salt Spring was great.
A very nice stay on Salt Spring Island. The island is not that large so the condo location was close enough for everything. There is a bus but we used our car. It was nice to sit on the covered balcony for breakfast and dinner and enjoy the water view and sunset. Overall, it was very clean, comfortable and well appointed.

Nice Condo near the ferry to Crofton
We enjoyed our 3 day stay at this Vesuvius condo on Salt Spring Island. It's very nice, well appointed, clean, and a very good location for hopping over to Crofton on Vancouver Island. The host provided very good directions for an easy check in, and all required details for our stay. I highly recommended it. 5 stars. SSI is a beautiful island. Take the Trustees Trail up Mount Erskine for a fabulous view! You can see this condo from the summit. We hope to go back again some day and would stay here again if we do.

Very sweet
