"this is a cool old hotel... we had a balcony looking out over the black sand beach and could hear the surf all night... it was gorgeous and an easy walk from the train station... also an easy walk to innumerable restaurants and pizza places... "

"The hotel is situated fairly close to the beach, and the rooms are spacious and air conditioned. The breakfast was slightly disappointing and did alter from day to day, but they class it as a free breakfast so we shouldn't complain too much. The manager and owner was a lovey man who was very friendly and helpful. He even allowed us do check out late without any additional charge, so we thought that was a really nice thing to do. "Best part of hotel is the view and access to private part of beach. Hotel is only first 5 floors of a giant apartment building. More of a locals hangout spot, especially at night. Excellent bbq restaurant across the street, 5-10min walk to main part of town where most of the restaurants and other hotels are, but they have to pay to use the beach downtown, so worth walk to restaurants to have free beach access all day"
