“Now in Exile”
The Barcelo Maya is amazing--the beach and grounds are so beautiful. The food is very good although not quite as varied during the off-season. We had a problem with our air conditioning in our room and they sent someone up at 9:30 pm right after we called to fix it. Very accomodating and the snorkeling off the beach here can't be beat.

I read countless reviews before going to Barcelo Maya Caribe and the positive ones were correct!!! We had a party of 6 with 4 younger adults and 2 'older'!! The food at the buffets was good and there were so many choices you could never leave hungry. Don Quixote was absolutely fabulous - order the beef tenderloin and you won't be disappointed! The service in all areas was wonderful (except at the omelet station each morning but I won't let 1-2 out of hundreds pull the service from a 5 to a 4). Servers, bartenders and entertainment crew: Julieta, Flor, Antonio, Ives, Orlando and Norma went out of their way to learn our names and ensure we had an amazing vacation. You don't have to tip but it is appreciated and these people work HARD! We used the catamarans daily and snorkeled by the pier -- awesome snorkeling! The activities on the beach and pool can be a LOT of fun - get involved! We did rent jet skis and it was fun - worth the money. That was really the only "extra" money we spent. There is SO much do there you can't get it all in. I had read that the rooms in Caribe and Beach are hot but everything runs on your room key. We never felt uncomfortable but if there was a need we could have left one key in place and not had a problem. I thought the rooms were great and the housekeeping did an terrific job - always checking to see if you needed anything extra. It is inclusive and we enjoyed it all!!! I highly recommend this resort!
“Great Resort! Just book your dinner reservations before you go!”
The Barcelo Maya Caribe and 4 adjorning hotels were absolutely beautiful. The grounds were lush and tropical. The beach was exquisite. The pools were huge. The entertainment and daily activities were fun. The rooms were extremely clean and well maintained. They staff was very attentative. The only negative was the food. Breakfast and lunch were great but by dinner time the buffet got a little tiring. They do have Ala Carte restaurants that you get to go to but the only problem is, if you don't reserve them before you arrive chances are you will be out of luck. Unless you don't mind eating at 10:00 PM. We tried to book any of the restaurants the morning after we arrived only to find out that they had all been booked. The only times they could get us would be 10pm. We had children with us and that was too late. Many guests were experiencing the same problem as us. People who did get into the restaurants told us that there were empty tables. They definitely need a better system.

“An Absolute Jewel in Riviera Maya”
Our hotel experience at the Barcelo Maya Caribe was absolutely outstanding. I cannot say enough about this hotel. It is located in a beautiful area of the Riviera Maya and has a fantastic beach. Crystal clear Carribbean blue water and a beautiful white sand beach. I traveled with my husband and 15 year-old daughter, and we will definitely go back. In fact, we are looking into going back in June. The staff was very warm and friendly and could not do enough for us. The rooms are impeccable, the grounds tropical and beautiful, and the pools (complete with swim-up bar) are great. The food was delicious, no matter where you ate, and no matter what meal it was. There was entertainment at the theatre every night, and Mexican trios at the lobby bar. I am thrilled we were able to spend our Spring Break here, and it is now our very favorite Mexican resort!!!!
“Great place to stay”
If you like big resorts, you will like this one. Only real complaint is that you can't go to all the areas of the resort. They limit you to two unless you pay more to go to the other areas. Excellent snorkeling with lots of fish and coral. Food was ok, but not excellent. Alcohol was not the best, but it sufficed. The grounds of the hotel were well manicured and the beaches were so beautiful. Would recommend this place.

The staff was very friendly; the environment was very comfortable; there was a variety of food at the buffet each morning, lunch and dinner to chose from; good entertainment from the Theater; the beach was very well kept and it was beautiful; the pools were nice and clean and the bars were great too; the towel cards is a good idea so you can get clean towels each time. I would recommend this hotel to anyone. Thank you for a great time, I will come back for sure.

“It was nice trip but not what was expected...”
Barcelo Caribe is nice hotel but many things could be better.... rooms can be cleaned better, hotel in general clean and have very nice beach. In June for our 10 days stay 2-3 days was raining and not much activities in the hotel for cases like this. Food was ok, very good cakes and pastries.
“Family of 4”
Very nice hotel. Food needs more flavor, plus more mexican traditional dishes at the buffet, especially from the area (Cochinita Pibil). Be prepared to walk, the hotel is very big. The beach and swimming pool are very nice. We have a very nice vacations.
