Very clean, comfortable hotel that is centrally located to southern Iceland sites. Hotel is off the beaten path, but is very quiet with beautiful scenery and excellent viewing location for the northern lights and star gazing (very little light pollution). Food is very good. Breakfast is excellent with tons of options. Would definitely stay here again!

We decided last minute to spend our last night in Iceland at Landhotel due to watching their Live Aurora Borealis webcam throughout the week. It was the BEST decision - the staff, hotel and Aurora were absolutely amazing. The staff were extremely kind and knowledgeable!

N Ice Land Hotel
Great looking hotel inside and out in a great location. Went in summer but would be awesome for Northern Lights. Very comfy bed and facilities. Breakfast included was lovely.

This hotel is about 15 minutes off of the 1 and so worth the drive. The rooms were large, as well as the bathroom & full size shower. The restaurant was the best part, fantastic food, as an example I ordered Dessert and it took 15 minutes to arrive because it was cooked fresh.

We loved the modern contemporary design and cleanliness. We had an awesome dinner, best lamb my son had on our 12 days! Waitress great. Breakfast buffet nice! Loved room decor and the views are wonderful. We did NOT like the SURPRISE charge of $14,000 ISK. We asked if they could dry a bag of clothes jackets from recent rainstorm and the cost. We were told $500 ISK (~$4US). Great. We also asked for a load to be washed dried and the cost. We were told a little more then the 500 ISK dry only price. I was aghast we were charged $14,000 ISK (~$98US). I called the manager and was told that we were undercharged for the dry load and that it was for water / labor, and was a miscommunication. I said we didn't miscommunicate, we were told the price upon seeing our 2 bags. They listed 28 items, Our dry load was ~8 including large jackets & another ~15 in wash/dry load including socks. Happy to pay a 'little bit more' as we appreciated the service, yet very unhappy to have manager not honor quote given. Had we known upfront we'd be charged $98 US, we would have DECLINED the service, as that's certainly 'not a little bit more." I wasn't planning to write a review, but an email asked, wanting to know what we did and did NOT like. We will stay again if we visit the highlands as proximity is not too bad, but will not be doing laundry. Other hotels are reasonable. I had hoped to receive a credit in the $70US dollar range, and hope upon reflection that it will come. Thank you

Hello Patti and great you did like your stay in our hotel. Regarding the extra cost then 4 US for drying one full dryer is very little and does not pay for labor, machine, and other fees. This you could have told yourself was too good to be true. What you asked to be cleaned and dried for you were 28 items and this is a service we usually dont provide. If you can point me to a hotel in the US that would do this for 28 US I will happily pay you back the 70 US. Iceland is an expensive country and we offer one price for all items which is 3,5 US per item. That is just covering our cost and something which we cant have for less. Many of my staff are from the Check Republic and I think there has been some language miscommunication. Im sorry for this misunderstanding but hope you will see in the end you did pay very little for drying the clothes and jackets but the cost for all the washing we did could be a little high but in the end, for all the service we provided to you this was a reasonable price.We aim to make all our guests leave happy from our hotel and do everything which is in our power to do so. Possibly we should say no to such wishes so we will not run into such problems when all we are doing is trying to help.Best regardsMagnús Ólafsson

It was a perfect place for getting away. Very quiet and clean. Bed and room was very comfortable. We stayed in summer on the way to Golden circle from Southern coast. Easy access to the secret lagoon.

This is an excellent property. The location is a great base to see a large variety of natural wonders in southern Iceland. The owners were very helpful. I highly recommend this hotel.

Gem of a hotel with amazing staff!
Wow! This is a wonderful hotel. We arrived just after a major snowstorm and before the plow arrived. The Manager walked through a foot of snow to greet us and later brought our bags in and situated the car. The room was gorgeous and the beds were great (even the pullout coach was so comfortable)! They have a great wine list and we sat in the gorgeous lobby with a bottle of reisling! A little later we are in the restaurant and were so impressed by the food. Every detail was perfect. We are from NY and so kind of picky and they met every expectation. We slept like babies and came down for a wonderful breakfast! What a gem and what a great staff!

Wonderful hotel and wonderful staff. Thomas was fantastic and ensured our stay was outstanding. I can’t recommend Landhotel enough. our room was spacious and comfortable with an amazing view. The food was great and as mentioned, the service was over the top.

Great potential but a few details need to be worked on. Everything is new and the staff are very friendly however the shower leaks all over the floor. The draindrop shower is weak and it takes a long while for hot water to come through in the bathroom overall. The rooms are overly warm with no ability to turn the heat down. We did manage to crack open a window slightly but it still was too warm. There is constant loud tapping noises coming from the heating in the very early hours and the bad night's sleep was not improved by the fire alarm going off at 6.30am. No explanation from the staff was given.

Dear guest, thank you for your review. Our hotel is very new and we are working on all aspect of fixing issues that come up. In all rooms is a heat controller that does control the heating in each room, perhaps you were not aware of that. This night we had a group where one passengers decided to dry their clothes with hairdryer and that caused the alarm to go off. Due to early set on fire alarm we were not able to inform all guests about the cause . We thank you for your response and hope to see you again with us. We wish you a happy new year. Sincerely

New and beautifully designed. The spa area wasn’t completely finished during our stay, however we could still use sauna & hot tub which was great. The staff was super attentive and very nice, we also enjoyed dinner at the in-house restaurant. One of the best hotels of our Iceland trip.

Nettes Hotel auf dem Weg ins Hochland
Aufgrund des niedrigen Reiseaufkommens durch Covid-19 waren wir die einzigen Gäste für eine Nacht. Das Zimmer war etwas einfach aber zweckmässig ausgestattet. Der Besitzer war sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit.
