Stayed there for 8 days. A/C unit in main living area did not work (E1 code - electricity to condensor). Reported 3 times with no resolution (was told that it was working); got Giardia infection from tap water; took 3 requests to get hot water turned on; spacious, sparecely furnished, close to beach, restaurants within a block, kitchen amenities adequate (no micrwave or oven); medium sized refrigerator; room serviced 3 times in 8 days. Main entrance gate locked and staffed at night (very secure). Will not return

On the plus side, the staff was wonderful, the location was great, and the price was right. On the minus side, the property is in need of serious renovation and major maintenance program. The facility is in serious disrepair. There are only three English channels on the TV if your TV works at all. (We had a working TV for one night out of the five.) Some of the furniture and window panes were broken as well. The is a small pool and a hot tub and both were clean. It's not the nicest or most modern facility in the area but the Romantic Zone is pretty expensive and you will find the price at Petit Hotel Pilitis hard to beat.

I stayed 2 weeks. It is very close to the beach! Walking distance to the Malecon. The room was large with a kitchenette. A microwave would have been a great addition but you can certainly survive without one. Bed was comfortable. There's also a small "balcony" off the bedroom. It would have been nice to have chairs.The pool isn't as large as it looks in the photos but was still great to use. Not at all that noisy. Staff are very helpful and friendly!

Small hotel, very spacious room, friendly staff. It is a well maintained and clean property, but it is very noisy at nights. It was a good fit for us looking to get involved in the live of the city,and to test the local food. There are plenty of restaurants around, it is 5 min walk to the beach.

Overall, a very nice stay. The pool was clean and there were plenty of amenities in the well-stocked kitchenette. The staff were friendly & efficient. My only negative comment would be that there was no complimentary small bottles of water offered in the rooms. In a country where the tap water is largely undrinkable, the vast majority of hotels offer each guest one small bottle of water per day. It was missed in this hotel. Otherwise, I’d stay again.

The room was spacious, comfortable, and functional. The bed mattress was a bit too firm, but it was manageable. The staff were friendly and helpful. It was much what I anticipated for the price. I would stay there again, in that same room.

My partner and I enjoyed our week-long stay at Petit Hotel Pilitas. The staff was very helpful and accommodating; we both felt welcomed. The cleaning staff was quick and efficient. Our suite was spacious and clean, and when we found the TV was not working, it was fixed the same day. Our bedroom room on the ground floor was relatively close to the street, so there was considerable traffic noise until early morning. The pool and jacuzzi were nice places to hang out with our friendly neighbors. The apartment was also within a block and a half of the beach, and there were numerous bars and restaurants within easy walking distance. I would recommend Hotel Pilitas and stay there again!

Great location close to the beach and other walkable destinations. Good places to eat, felt very safe and most people were very friendly in the area. Great staff at the hotel keep up with everything. Cute overlook of the beach on the rooftop. We loved the jacuzzi but didn’t try the pool while there. Adults only so the decor is explicit just so you know! Boutique vibe was great

Nice to have the kitchen in the room. Rooms were OK. Had a problem with A/C but the staff had maintenance repair within 24 hours - It was a bit prison like - you could have absolutely no guest to your room without paying additional - I was with a friend, who was staying at a different hotel, and he was not allowed to come to my room to get a band-aid (and this was in the middle of the day- not sure if this was about security or having no one else on property.

`Staff was Great, Location good for not being on the beach, good Security, Enjoyed the Sundeck , Needs better wifi connection and beds were very hard, Rooms cleaned every day, full kitchen. hot water went cold after one minute. some times came back on. This was a very cute little place, near the beach and shopping areas and Jasmin was very nice! Only drawback was the pool was small and not heated, and they were cutting down vines in the hot tub area so I couldn't go in. They had designated parking which was great.

Great location, the hotel was clean. 24 hour guest service, which made the hotel feel more safe. Shower was cold, but fixed immediately when bought up to attention with hotel manager. Weird extra guest surcharge of 300 pesos per visit. Hotel took a deposit of 1000 pesos, which was returned upon deposit receipt.

The rooms have a lot of space. Beds are comfortable and staff is extremely kind. It is adults only what makes it special. There is no much sun in the pool area so it is usually empty. The terrace upstairs it is a must see. I really recommend it.

A/C is strong and works great Water in shower gets nice and warm, not hot unfortunately but good enough to be enjoyable Mini fridge kept my beverages nice and cold I stayed in the standard king room and it was spacious with plenty of room in closet and good sized bathroom. My room was also right next to the street, be aware extremely loud, but I never travel without a few pairs of earplugs to make sure I don’t have issues with noise. WiFi is a 1 out of 5 stars - I was right behind the office in Room 5 and signal would go in and out, mostly out and even when I did catch it, it would be very slow. They definitely need to upgrade their WiFi and add more modems for better signal throughout hotel. The room doors need a major upgrade and better locks added for better security/peace of mind in my opinion. It’s the old school basic doorknobs that I probably could open up with a butter knife. However they always have a front desk person and hotel entrance gets locked at dark. This place for sure needs some touchups inside the rooms but unsure if I’d stay again due to the cons mentioned above. Price point below $70/night is passable but any higher is pushing it. I paid $59/night before taxes.

It’s a very bad place, they made terrible with the renovation they just paint and vet the old paint. Showers are awful, you have to ask to the staff to turn on the water heater. The room look empty with very poor decoration, the windows don’t seal so you will listed the people talking on the street, I mean they give you a key with a lace! I wish they would have keep the Cora, the old facility as it was. It wasn’t cleaning but it was much more fun and no trying to make a place that isn’t like a boutique hotel!! Bad

Fantastic Stay!! I loved this property. The location the value is fantastic, and the rooms are very spacious. I stayed in a Double Standard Suite (Suite Doble), which contained a comfortable king size bed and large master bathroom. I liked the open shower in the master and two balcony spaces. The other side features a pool view. The staff was exceptional especially Priscila at the reception, which is staffed 24/7. I’d definitely stay again.

Staff are great & property was clean. Pool is small & in the centre of the complex on ground floor. Sun is restricted and the only area to sit lie in the sun is in the back of the property & lounge chairs were all broken. No elevator. The property is on a hill making the walk up to the main street a bit difficult. The suite was definitely not as per the photos. TV was in the bedroom which is not conducive if one person wants to sleep. Living room had a table, 2 chairs & a broken fold down couch with cigarette burns. No coffee or end tables. Regarding the kitchen, it needs a shelf over the counter to hold food. No microwave, oven or toaster oven. These things are more important if you are staying more than a few days. We stayed a month. Bathroom & bedroom were nice, but a plop umber is needed to fix the toilet valve to eliminate continual running, bathroom tap needs to be secured. Some of the kitchen items were broken or in very rough shape. We had a leak around the kitchen sink that they remedied within 24 hours, but it still leaked, albeit a lot less. WI-fi is really bad. Since the TV was in the bedroom I had to watch netflix on my computer & lost the connection every time I used it. Loosing a connection more than twice during a 30 minute program is really annoying. English TV stations are very limited & the TV was not equipped to accommodate a fire stick. It really would not take a lot to improve this property.

I like the fact that the hotel is in the quiet area, away from all the noise. However the hotel is a bit outdated. Everything was clean and in functional order however the towels show some wear and tear. Inside the room you can hear everything thats happening outside the room IE neighbors talking, walking etc, cleaning staff talking on the cell phone. Since the room 1 is at the bottom and surrounded by the concrete walls the sound travels quite well!

you get what you pay for?
The good: location, relatively quiet overall, feels safe and secure with a locked gate and attendant at all times; rooms are spacious and it's really nice to have a fridge and kitchenette during the stay, reasonably priced at around $120/night. The bad: rooms and hotel are pretty rundown overall, beds are extremely uncomfortable, linens and towels are pretty gross, pretty significant ant problem (see photos), and some electrical doesn't work.

Very simple small hotel, clean rooms and facility. The pool and hot tub are nice. Staff is very friendly. GREAT location in the Romantic Zone. It is LGBTQ friendly and the majority of the guests were gay but there were a few straight couples staying. No issues at all. Def a place to leave your stuff and explore the city.

This hotel is extremely noisy. Cars go up the street all day and night and for some reason the noise resonates inside the rooms very loudly. My room specifically had the windows hardware broken and even the glass was broken, which made the noise even worse. I talked to the staff about but they did not do anything about it. I wouldn’t recommend

So bad!
I am surprised at the lack of honest reviews, this place is a dump. The ceiling had a leak and pieces of it would fall on us, the bathroom window had pieces missing and anyone walking on the street could literally see the person showering inside. The toilet lid was not attached, you could pick it up and hold it in the air. The furniture in the living room area was so stained, we were afraid to sit on it. The linens were so discolored that we slept fully clothed, with jackets wrapped around the pillow cases. The walls are paper thin, you hear EVERYTHING. After one night, we made reservations somewhere else. It was too intolerable to stay, when we informed the clerk at check out and while nice, they did not seem interested in rectifying any of the issues. And honestly - we wouldnt have stayed even if they could. Pro - the refrigerator worked well.
