Great 20th Year Anniversary Getaway
We had never been to Kauai before and just had to roll the dice and get some recommendations from friends and relatives. We elected to stay 3 days down south and the other 3 days at the Hanalei Resort. We luckily selected a lovely condo with gorgeous mountain views! We had everything we needed to make our 3 days on the north shore spectacular - and they were. I’m glad we split our time and got a little bit of both worlds. This is definitely resort life/living with tennis courts, waterfall-laden pools, immaculate grounds, lovely private beach access and lovely buildings and units. It’s a little slice of heaven!

Princeville Stay
The location of this vrbo is amazing, such beautiful surroundings which may make it worth it. That being said, the price is a bit steep once you take into account additional check in, daily resort/ parking fees. The room/ facilities are somewhat dated but overall an easy/pleasant stay.

Great stay
The condo is on the older side but clean and well equipped. Loved that we could walk down to the beach. Grounds at HBR are immaculately kept. Liked that we could self cater with the BBQ and oven in communal kitchen area. The space was big enough for our family of four. Would stay again

First, views of mountains great, pool area great, owner very responsive, laundry machines close and reasonably priced and resort staff friendly. Did not like the soft bed (had to sleep on the floor), hassle to get to the beach and steep walk, cleanliness of condo lacking, parking not close and crowded during restaurant hours, long drive from any reasonably-priced shopping and airport and resort charges high for what they did for us. Overall it was a disappointment for us because of the stated above and having to cart around because of the distanes from parking and hilly area, but the view was great.

The resort is beautiful, staff is friendly and the unit is steps away from the best place to watch the gorgeous Kaua'i sunsets every night. Room is basic, but does the trick if you're out and about most of the day exploring the island. Dining options are limited at the resort, so plan accordingly. Must love birds!

We rented this property as a stopgap for a camping trip. The property is absolutely stunning. Views of Hanalei bay and beyond. Amazing walk down to the beach. I give it 10 out of 10. The bed was extremely comfortable. The view from the room, it was outstanding. I don’t think you could do better if you tried. BOOM!

HBR is a beautiful location, it was my second stay here
Stay was good for location of HBR. My room was dirty and musty smelling- very outdated and a lot of unfinished surfaces. I stayed for 11 nights and had no access to have room cleaned- I needed at a minimum a vacuum to do it myself. The room made it feel like I was staying in a rustic cabin and not a resort in Princeville

Wonderful getaway!
Beatiful property and everything is as described. We had everything we needed for the beach, and lots of cookware if you want to walk down to the outside kitchen area. Very comfortable space and bed too! Host was very accommodating as well, thank you!

Thank you Mindi, I appreciate you picking my studio unit. You are welcome back anytime! I wish I could provide a microwave however I would be in violation of local codes to furnish a cooking device in this unit. For future guests, there is a community cooking area provided by the resort that is available for guests to use and I do provide dishes so guests can utilize that to cook their own meals.

Unit sold as a 1br but not
Owner represented as a 1 br condo. It was a studio apt with no kitchen. Owner had a problem recently from another guest so changed the listing and did not inform me so I could cancel and rebook what I needed. Owner made no attempt to make it right.

The property is nice, the pool is amazing, the location is great. Really close to lots of fun things, the beach at the resort is great. My only real complain was the restaurant at the resort has some really rude workers. I'd suggest taking the drive into town to eat. It's cheaper too. Otherwise, pretty good resort with a great location.

Wonderful stay!
What a great property and unit. We have stayed on many properties in Princeville and HBR is now our favorite! It's so nice to have 2 beaches to walk to. There's one down the hill from the resort and if you walk up the stairs next to 1 Hotel being built, you can get to hideaway beach. We ended up using almost all of the amenities, and loved hanging out at happy talk bar for drinks. The perfect spot for catching sunsets is steps from the unit as well.

Wonderful atmosphere, location and room
My husband and I stayed here for 4 nights and it had everything we needed. Although there isn’t a full kitchen, there is everything needed to cook at the bbq area. The room was the perfect size and the location is great! The report amenities were a great addition to the stay. Anthony also responded very fast whenever needed!

First stay at HBR
This was our first experience at the Hanalei Bay Resort. Overall, the room and the stay were great. Some parts of the resort are a bit of a trek to get to, but this spot is close to most amenities, but not too close (if you know what I mean). Hosts were great to work with and we had zero issues! The golf cart service is a great feature for those days when you are just tired of walking or bought a bunch of stuff at the farmers market. We would stay here again.

We had an amazing time at HBR and can't wait to return. Anthony was a communicative host and we could not have asked for more in that respect. The studio was able to comfortably accommodate our family of four (two young children) and we thought it was an incredible value for such an amazing location. We were very pleased with this booking!

Nice location
The unit is in a convenient location in a awesome resort. It's close to both pools, the beach path, and the laundry. We loved the beach at the resort. It was good for swimming and snorkeling and has shade almost to the waters edge. It was easy to get a golf cart to help us get our stuff down and back. We tried many beaches and the resort beach ended up being our favorite (compared to Kee', Tunnels, and Annni- the south shore beaches were too rough during our time on the island). We ran into an issue with the toilet and the owner got a handyman out to fix it on Memorial Day. We used the cooler for lunches on the go every day.

Lovely studio unit with beautiful view
This was a last minute booking for us, but it was a very nice property that was affordable/within our budget and we had an enjoyable stay. The location is amazing and we went down to the private beach on our first day. The room was clean and the housekeeper was very friendly and accommodating for our slightly early arrival. Fast responses from the owner of the listing as well. We had a very lovely week in Hanalei and will be coming back soon! Highly recommended!

We really enjoyed ourselves. The only thing I would point out is that there is no lock on the doorknob, and the lock there is (the type that swings from the door onto the frame) easily came off when you would try to open it... hence, essentially no security. This made my partner nervous when viewing. So once they get that fixed, this will be all good to go!

This was nothing short of an amazing place to stay. Our host was very responsive, the room was very clean, and the property, BREATH TAKING! Honestly the photo's does not do the views of this place any justice. Do not hesitate, this is the place to stay!! The neighborhood is very safe, and quite.

HBR is a Beautiful relaxing property with breathtaking views.
HBR was is the perfect getaway in Kauai north. There was plenty to do in the area of the golf courses are amazing. Note, there are roosters and chickens all over and they will wake you up during the night. Watch where u walk

Overall, I would rate this stay as average. The unit and property have wonderful views. The price was right for our budget also. The pools are wonderful. The unit should have a solid cleaning and dusting job done though. Hide-a-bed had sand in the sheets and the vents and ceiling fan were covered in dust. I probably would pass on HBR for our future visits to the island.

The resort is top notch. The grounds are beautiful and very well maintained. The unit we rented is in a nice location with a beautiful view from the deck but is a little tired. Updates should include carpet, full bathroom and kitchenette remodel.

1. 4 hours wait to check in room not clean nor sanitized 2. Bathroom poorly cleaned - tub a mess, vent full of dirt and dust 3. Spider bugs were coming down from vents above the bed and a few crawled around on top of comforter - not a restful sleep - little critters everywhere The highlight the resort, beach, sun & golfing And no phone call nor text msg from the owner to apologize … I have pictures upon request.

Best Location on the Hanalei Bay Resort Property
We couldn't have been happier with our stay in this studio. We're also extremely grateful that our initial reservation in March of 2020 was rescheduled - Communication was excellent and we have nothing but praise for our host. We have stayed at Hanalei Bay Resort more times than I can count and the location of the Hala Building is THE BEST centrally located spot on the property. We loved that the ice/vending and laundry facility was just a few steps away. It's right between both pools, not too far from the parking lot, and right at the start to the path down to the beach. Further, this unit is on the 2nd floor with just a short flight of steps. We've been on the top level before and carrying groceries upstairs was not the way to spend vacation! Beautiful view from the lanai and actually very spacious for a studio. We loved cooking down in the poolside kitchen and barbecues. We even enjoyed eating a few of our meals poolside. The bed was SO comfortable and the bathroom very spacious. As Hanalei Bay Resort regulars, I know we will always try to book from this host and, at the very least, in this building. As for the resort - you just can't beat the location, the amenities (I dream about the sandy bottom jacuzzi), the super friendly staff, the beautiful landscaping, and the breathtaking views. I believe this must be the best sunset view on the island! Couldn't have had a better stay, even with the added COVID-related travel requirements.

Princeville stay
Hosts were responsive and easy to work with. We had to reschedule once a year ago when COVID shut the island down. We appreciate their flexibility to move our reservation out a year. We enjoyed our stay. The unit has amazing views of the mountains. The resort complex has many amenities. Check-in and check-out were simple. We look forward to the next time we can visit!

This was a cozy place for my pre-teen daughter and I to have as a home base for our mother/daughter adventure. We did not spend a lot of time in the room, just mornings for a quick breakfast and then at night after returning from dinner for showers and a little TV, so it had what we needed. It truly feels like you are staying in someone's well-loved studio with dated touches. The coffee maker and blender were well-used, as were the towels and bedding, which were fine with us for what we were doing and the type of trip we were on. We will rent again when we return just the two of us for more island adventures! Great price point, wonderful location, and very cozy!

A rough start, but it got better.
The property is well maintained. The unit I ended up in was great. But when I arrived the cleaning service hadn't cleaned it. The owner, Lisa, was easy to get ahold of and set me up in the nicer 1 BR/full kitchen unit next door, which also hadn't been cleaned. So the first day was a hassle, but I appreciated how the owner made it right by allowing me to stay in the bigger unit. I would definitely return (to the 1 BR). The lanai has a spectacular view.

HBR condo on the north shore of Kauai
We love staying at Hanalei Bay Resort! Amazing pools, tennis courts, restaurant on site with nightly entertainment, beautiful beach, & condo located centrally on the property. Condo is cozy. We've stayed in this unit several times. A big Mahalo for sharing your condo with us. We look forward to returning next year since COVID-19 quarantine mandates took place during this year's stay forcing us to spend the majority of our time in the condo with only daily walks in paradise. Mahalo!

Nice resort. Room was close to all the amenities of the resort. Room had a very nice Mountain View. Owner responded immediately to any questions we had. The rental gives one the ability to stay on a nice resort for a reasonable price. Size of room was good for 2 people. Loved the roosters! Most people don’t but we thought they added charm to the resort and island.

Great Deal for a Great location
The condo was in the perfect location. Not too far from the resort pool and not too close as well as the distance to the beach. The condo was a little out-dated but the resort and all the amenities made up for it. Highly recommend for the price would definitely stay at the same condo again.

Prefect Hawaiian Getaway
The rental was very clean. It is supplied with kitchen and beach basics. Being able to cook our own meals was great! The resort has all the amenities that you don’t have to leave if you don’t want to (cooking area, pools, beach access, laundry facilities, restaurant, bar). There are 3 gas grills (grilling utensils are supplied at each grill) and a stove for cooking. The pools were great (one had a bar). The resort is close to a grocery store and Hanalei which has good food and coffee options and a wonderful beach! Would definitely stay here again.

Absolutely Perfect!
We stayed at Lisa's property at Hanalei Bay Resort for our honeymoon, and we could not have picked a better place for a better price!! Honestly, this is one of those places that the pictures don't do it justice. The pictures of the resort make it look kind of outdated, but this place is BEAUTIFUL, and the condo is in great location with a short walk to the pool, pool bar, tennis courts and all the amenitites. And they have golf carts that take you right down to the beach! The condo itself was perfect for a couple. The bed was super comfy. The place had A/C which was nice. The balcony had a killer view, and we loved hanging out there in the morning drinking coffee. I would hands down stay here again without hesitation. Some of the other reviews about it being too close to the golf cart path or about hearing roosters crow are just reviews from cranky people :) Don't listen to them...if you are a couple look for an amazing place for a reasonable price then don't hesitate to book this place!
