Breakfast staff disappointing
It was a lovely hotel. Breakfast was nice, except the plastic in the pineapple. The staff seemed to ignore this even when I spoke with the waitress and Manager. The waitress at breakfast came across very harsh, not very enjoyable at all. Seemed to wait a while for a pot of tea, when my husband ordered a latte and received 5 minutes before me hummm. The Michelin star restaurant was super and the team really bought through this great experience, maybe something the breakfast team need to learn from.

What an amazing hotel! I am quite picky about where we stay on vacation and I have to say this was one of the best. The staff was so friendly and helpful. The rooms and grounds are gorgeous. The morning buffet was incredible as was the food at the restaurant. The bar area is amazing too and to top it off, you can see the Atlantic Ocean from your room! We loved that it was a little removed from the historic downtown of Porto, but still very walkable. We want to come back and bring our three children (college aged and older).

From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with welcome drinks and allowed us an early check-in. The property is beautiful and views are spectacular. Location was perfect in the heart of local shops, beaches and monuments. The staff was amazing totally a 5 star location. I highly recommend to anyone looking to have all the comfort, luxury and experience. My husband and I loved it!

It’s surprising, but in this 5 star hotel the Air Conditioning system was not designed properly. It could not cool our room to 72 degrees. Plus the maids did not clean/service our room everyday, nor did they do a turn down every day. Very poor service for this level hotel.

Great Spa hotel
Very high quality hotel situated a couple of miles outside of Porto. This suited us as it was a bit quieter and away from the tourist areas. Excellent restaurants and a great spa on site. Lovely sea view. Highly recommended.

This was the nicest hotel I’ve been to… got to stay in the main house which was a converted 1900s mansion. Only seven rooms in the main house, elegant and spacious with a perfect ocean view and the sound of the waves crashing to put you to sleep. Staff was superb, eager to please and tend to your requests. Will be coming back when I visit Porto. Highly recommend the Foz region in general. 5 stars for this hotel!!

Vila Foz is a lovely property. The location right on the water is amazing and the rooms were very comfortable. I splurged for an ocean-view room and it was worth the money. One night we watched the sunset from our balcony. Breakfast was wonderful. But really the thing that stands out the most is the service. Every single employee we interacted with at the hotel was so friendly and helpful! Added plus, the hotel provides free rides to and from downtown Porto, which made trips so much easier.

You need to stay here. Incredible.
I would highly recommend Vila Foz to anyone. I happened to be here with my significant other, but if you're here on business, it would suit you just as well. The service is beyond impeccable, the hotel is stunning, and it's just far enough outside of the city centre that you could choose to walk while the location is still quiet and serene. My partner and I have travelled extensively for both business and pleasure and both of us agreed that Vila Foz is our new favourite. I had 2 treatments at the spa — incredible. Breakfast was lovely... and — again — the service is unparalleled. Trust us on this... You'll love it.

Great location, just across from the promenade and ocean. Good restaurants within walking distance. Bus or trolley into Porto. Now for some negatives: Definitely not a 5-star. 4-Star at the most. This is a hotel still in training and trying to find it's feet. Breakfast is okay but could be better for a 5-Star. You have to book the ocean view rooms adjacent to the main property; however beware, rooms are small (too small for a 5-star) and are not sound proof. You will hear noisy neighbors. Food selection and service in the evenings could be better; again a hotel in training

Beautiful property and friendly, helpful staff. While the location is beautiful, distance from the city is a real drawback if you are looking to discover Porto. We would have liked to gone into the city for dinner, for instance, but were deterred by the fact that it took us 45 mins (not the advertised 20) to get back one evening due to some accidents on the main highway. This is probably not necessarily typical but happens often enough. Also, the higher end hotel restaurant, Vila Foz, was VERY disappointing in how they handled my veggie food request (just gave me an appetizer that just did not have the depth of a main as my main course .. forgiveable in a lesser place but really not when you are expecting a fine dining experience and have forewarned them .. on the plus side, the head waiter was extremely gracious). Overall, a solid experience.

This hotel was a very pleasant surprise. We were a little apprehensive due to the fact that it is fairly new, but we were blown away by the whole experience! Maria at reception was a dream, very knowledgeable and understanding of our needs. Philip was also very attentive. Jose in the bar area was very friendly and charming. The staff in the breakfast restaurant were also very kind and helpful, food was great too. The hotel itself was very quirky and unique with a lot of surprising touches. We love unconventional hotels where the design is creative and eclectic. A lot of thought and detail was put into designing this hotel. Whoever is behind this spectacular property has built a gem. We will definitely recommend to our friends and family.

Fantastic hotel in great location whether you prefer the calm of the Atlantic coast or the bustle of Porto. Lovely rooms with great ocean views( best to ensure you take a sea view room). Hotel food was great - lower restaurant was better value. Service was excellent from reception to restaurant and bar staff. Spa and pool were quiet and very relaxing. It was an indoor pool but there was outside space to relax in the sun. Porto and the Atlantic coast are great places to visit - lots to see and do as well as great food particularly the seafood. Everyone is very friendly and helpful.
