The Edgewater is a very cute, clean hotel located directly on the beach. It has been recently redecorated, and the lobby area and rooms are nice. The front desk staff was very friendly and helpful in finding restaurants in both Old Orchard and Portland. There were two issues with my room that I discussed with the staff, and they were grateful for the feedback and were seemingly going to attend to those as soon as they could. The hotel is within a very short walking distance of the pier and Old Orchard shops and restaurants; I stayed during off season but I could see that being either a pro or a con depending on how close you wanted to be to the action. I highly recommend The Edgewater.
