I frequently use this hotel on business. Staff is polite and friendly. Room is clean. Convenient location. The only drawback is a week shower. I usually don't have breakfast, so I cannot review on their complimentary breakfast.
The room is big and comfortable but tap water pressure was a bit low. Staff service is excellent and supportive. Well recommended for budget travelers.
The hotel is spacious, wood interior themed but the smell is unbearable and the AC was too loud. The only thing I could eat during breakfast was cereal and coffee. The juice was not fresh but diluted. At some point I was told that my guests can not enter the hotel and I have to meet them in the lobby. I was shocked.
Stayed here last year, very clean and modern. Staff is fantastic, wifi is excellent and breakast buffet is delicious.
Very close to city market and shopping mall.
Not happy, pictures on website very deceiving, The photos used was prbably taken when the hotel was built, furniture and fittings dirty, old and worn out, was definately over priced for the condition, and the hotel facilities. You don't get all that you promised. Very, very disappointing.
You have to remember that this country is just starting to get out of its misery. They are starting to rebuilt so lower your expectations...it is an old building but well maintained. It would need upgrades like the sheets or towels but it is very clean. The breakfast is basic but included. you can imagine how luxury it was in the 1950. It is great to see that it is still there.
The hotel is a 10-15 minute walk (but you can take a tuk tuk for three bucks) away from the busy restaurants and nightlife along the river. This is actually a good thing, it is much quieter. My room on the 8th floor was spacious and had a large balcony. The hotel staff was a little reserved, but in the end always helpful. The hotel is a little run-down, but clean. The breakfast is good but not spectacular.
It was an excellent hotel. Very good location and close to many resturants, mall and big market. Rooms were very nice and clean and the staff was great!
The hotel is really old and outdated. The rooms look like they were designed in the 1970's and the room lighting is no doubt from the 70's. The light switches and electrical outlets do not all work. The Wifi is okay but is not that strong. The breakfast is okay but not great. The location is near a huge outdoor market called central market and there is a grocery store close by. Not really close to anything else. It is an okay hotel for a few nights.
This hotel is great and clean.Breakfast is amazing

Lovely spacious room
Diamond Hotel was a pleasure to stay at. The staff were friendly and as helpful as possible. It is ideally situated if you like markets with the Central Market behind the hotel. The tuktuks can take you everywhere for very reasonable rates and with commentaries on places if you require.

One day stopover
Nicely situated close to central market, bus station and well served with shops, bars. Had a great 1 night stop before heading off to Kep and Kampot. Friendly and helpfull staff.
Big rooms, bed was hard clean, good staff ,tuk tuk outside very good.
not a flash hotel but ok. food not great for westerner.
Location not close to river but was $3 ride.
Cambodia is a very poor country and taking this into account hotel standards cannot be compared to those at home. However this hotel provided a safe, clean and fairly comfortable place to stay while exploring the city. A Vietnamese breakfast was included and the staff were helpful. There is a nearby shopping complex with western style resturants and a good supermarket for those times you need to cool down or have a change of scenery from the hussle and bussle of the streets.
The room was huge and there was a large balcony too but everything looked a bit old. First impression on entering the room was that it smelt really weird with a sickly sweet smell. Probably some kind of air freshener they used. Wifi was free and very fast. Staff were polite and friendly but when I called to request an additional pillow and a hair dryer to be sent to my room, the front desk said ok but no-one came, had to call an hour later and remind them. Bathroom is huge but the shower is mounted oddly making it difficult to use. Breakfast was not very good but at least there is an egg station. I did see flies on the bread and some other food that was uncovered.
Location is very central, just minutes walk from the Central Market and Sorya Mall. Plenty of Chinese restaurants nearby. It takes about 20 minutes to walk to the Sisowath Quay area where the night market is.
The location of this hotel is good. Near central market. Hotel receptionists were very friendly. Lots of suggestions for us when we ask about places to shop and for meals. Room was clean with bathe tub in toilet.
The diamond hotel was value for money, the rooms were spacious and clean.
The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. They booked our bus tickets and arranged pick ups etc.
Location wise it's pretty central and very close to the bus depot, tuktuks are a plenty outside the hotel, just make sure you get your price first.
I really enjoyed the stay in DIAMOND HOTEL because its very convenient to me in many ways. For example like convenient stores, local restaurants, and to the central market and many more.
Good choice for an inexpensive overnight stay. Expedia insists that I say more than this, but there is not more to say.

Hard Beds
The hotel was well maintained though I don't think the furniture has been replaced since it first opened as it was dated. The only big thing was the beds were really hard. Otherwise everything else was okay. It was clean and everything was still in good condition.

Old hotel but well maintained
We stayed two nights at the hotel and it was very clean and well maintained. The breakfast was okay but I wished they had more variety. It was nice stay for two nights. But if you want something more lively then it is better to stay by the river.
We were really surprised by this hotel. Our room was enormous and it had everything we needed. The hotel is close enough to walk to the center, the river and some of the markets. The ladies at reception were fantastic, always smiling and welcoming, and helped us with taxi's, coach pick-ups and safely stored our luggage for two days after checking out! The only possible fault we could find was the shower curtain and the bed linen- which both could be thrown out and replaced. However- we did get fresh sheets every day- which was a nice! Overall we had a excellent stay.
This is the 5th time I've stayed at Diamond and I still love it- for the location, friendliness of staff, cleanliness and comfort. The next time I'm in Phnom Penh, I'd probably stay here again.
Situated in the middle of the city, within walking distance from the Central market as well as a super market. Food available at various local and Chinese eateries right beside the hotel.
Hotel was very clean staff was nice and help full.

HOTEL Location near by BUS station
I booked this hotel just for next day want to going Siem Reap by BUS for easy just by short walk to GST Bus Station ( Also near by 168 Bus Station ).
This was my fourth time staying at Diamond. Good location, comfortable rooms, and nice staff. Needless to say, I would stay here again the next time I'm in PP. I did somewhat prefer the breakfast before it moved to the newly opened restaurant, though.
A friend and I had spent the past 3 weeks travelling round Cambodia on a tight budget, so we decided to spend a bit more on accomodation on our last night before we got our flight home. We fell in love with the hotel as soon as we got there! The staff were amazing: spoke good English, very friendly and were able to help us with any questions we had. Room was very nice, had a good view of the street below from the balcony and we really felt like we were in the heart of the city. The airport was only a 20 minutes tuk tuk ride away and there was a market about 5 minutes walk away. Would definately reccomend due to value for money.
