I have stayed in this hotel a few times and this was the first time I was disappointed. I got a very shabby room, the water bottle in the fridge was open and leaking, there were small holes in the bedding and I found hairs in the shower upon my arrival. Not the quality I expected from this location, quite disappointing.

Pictures on Expedia are totally different than real life!! I booked a superior room based on the pictures, and it wasn’t the same room. Staff said that they have nothing to do with pictures advertised.

This hotel is in a fantastic neighbourhood that is big too touristy. Just a few steps away from local shops/cafes. The air conditioner wasn’t very effective however it was 30 degrees outside!

Loved that it was close to transportation, restaurants and shopping. It is a terrific location and the customer service was very good. The only negative is the air conditioning doesn’t work to well in the rooms.

Couples Trip to France
Nice hotel in great location. Very kind and helpful staff and lovely breakfast buffet. Only complaint would be the room itself is very small and the bathroom is tiny. But to be expected for Paris!

The location of the hotel is excellent. Many subway stations are near it. The thing that didn't like is that the hotel has maintenance works and it looks like a litlle dusty. The room space is very small, but functional.

Great location but basic hotel with small room
Pros: Location - close to lots of cafes and restaurants, food market, multiple metro stations, and walking distance to some main sites and museums. Bed was comfortable. The room had a fridge. It was clean. Cons: Everything is small - there was little space to move around in our room and bathroom. The lift is tiny and the spiral staircase a bit nauseating. The towels are small and feel like sandpaper. The hairdryer was very old and broken. We had a bath and when we asked about a shower (since all photos have a shower) we were told we didn’t ask for a room with a shower and we couldn’t change to another room as they were booked out. They said they would check again the next day, but didn’t come back to us. On booking we asked for separate beds, and whilst we had separate bedding, the beds were joined. There was little interaction from the staff apart from hello / good evening. We didn’t have breakfast, but it looked basic. Workers were right outside our windows every morning. They didn’t make a lot of noise but since they were at the window we had to keep the curtains closed.

Fantastic location and great value for money
Located in the heart of Le Marais, a great location for seeing Paris on foot. Room was clean, comfortable, quiet and surprisingly large.

Yes, it's a small hotel (the elevator can barely fit two people), but we didn't feel like we lacked anything. The staff (Emanuela) went out of their way to make us feel at home and were there to help us when we needed anything. The location could not be better, especially if you like Le Marais. This little hotel is surrounded by great restaurants. We also found a great bakery, cheese shop, pastry shop and a butcher shop with a great selection. The breakfast (in our case was included) was simple, but very satisfying and fresh. All in all, this is wonderful place... highly recommended.

Lovely hotel in a quiet street in Le Marais - 10 minutes walk from subway at Republique and easy walking to all areas of le Marais. Very modern and clean inside and friendly staff.

I’ve stayed at this hotel a number of times over the years. It’s very comfortable, the rooms are well appointed, the staff attentive, and an excellent breakfast buffet. The location is perfect, walking distance to Gare de l’Est and Chatelet. And centered in the Marais, lots of good dining options in the area too. I’ll be back soon, I’m sure!

The hotel staff were great. Excellent location, easily walkable to metro and other sites, lots of eating choices nearby, all in all a great neighborhood. The hotel is fine, as advertised, and it fit our needs well. We would stay there again.

The price for the hotel was high considering that the quality was mediocre - $321CAD per night for single occupancy. The bed was 2 single beds put together and the bathroom was exceptionally small with limited amenities except for body/hair shampoo and body cream. Didn't spend much time in the room but was a lot of money to simply shower and sleep for the couple nights. I had a room on the top floor and facing the street which became noisy in the morning with the garbage truck pickups.

Lovely Boutique hotel highly recommended
Very helpful friendly staff with good English. Clean and tidy and boutique feel rather than large chain so excellent experience. Good location near restaurants and shops. Highly recommended will definitely stay again.

Charming venue in great location
Superb location for a stay in Le Marais, lovely welcome and helpful reception. Room was small, with limited hanging space, but nicely themed. Sauna is a bonus after experiencing freezing temperatures in March. The bathroom in 401 could be improved by fixing the shower handle to the wall over the bath. Lots of friendly and classic bars, restaurants very close. Plus you have small supermarket and fresh market on hand.

Great service from staff at Hotel du Vieux Saule
What made this stay so special is the amazing staff that work at Hotel du Vieux Saule. Emanuela is such a kind, friendly and helpful person who made our stay so wonderful. I forgot the gentleman who worked in the evening that helped to print our flight information, but was so helpful too. The location is perfect and you are on the edge of the Marais district, next to many cafes and a small park. The rooms are on the smaller side but very comfortable and the value for money at this hotel is amazing.

staff was extremely friendly and helpful. At check-in the lady on staff spent at least a half hour helping me sign up for the bike sharing program. Let me use her computer. Spoke French to customer service for me. I tipped her €10 because she went above and beyond. Then the day I left the man on staff helped me get a taxi which was difficult because of the strike. When that failed he actually lined up one of his friends to take me. Just absolutely terrific people. Will definitely stay here again. Property was clean and in perfect condition and very comfortable. and the Wi-Fi was top-quality. It didn’t drop me as most inexpensive hotels Wi-Fi tend to do.

My Mum and I stayed for 3 nights as part of a city break. The hotel is in an excellent location, lots of places to eat near by and a half an hour walk from the Louvre. The room was small but the staff and location make up for that.
